      @@ArmsFamilyHomestead Hey...thank you for ❤ing my comment. But I was curious to if you had given my idea any thought...I had mentioned how a friend of mine had set up a few small aquarium tanks and bread minnows for feeding.. I loved your guys's video with the 1000 minnows but according to my buddy a breeding pair of minnows could produce around five hundred to a thousand baby's and hatch time is only around a week...just a thought to help out financially..and or even another fun project for you and your son.....

      Thatonedog ok you don't understand how that's not going to happen, simple math and science but I guess not all of us are lucky enough to have a solid schooling, say if a 3 gallon bag has a ph of 9 by the time you mix that with 300 gallons of water with a ph6 you will only increase the ph to 6.003, if the waterway a ph of 9 none of the minnows would be alive therefore why would you even put them in?

    • @justwayne4785
      @justwayne4785 Před 3 lety +1

      @@thatonedog819 I agree, you can’t rely on Google and a sarcastic attitude like some people lol, to keep your fish safe, anyone who’s actually kept fish will tell you a dead fish in a tank can screw up water chemistry, plus you never know what you’re introducing into the tank from the water fish were transported in. Anyone with any practical fishkeeping experience knows you don’t introduce fish that live in PH6 water to a tank with PH9, you’d simply kill the fish, you’re probably introducing fish that live in very similar PH levels, whole tanks are lost by not doing so.
      Why on earth do fishkeepers spend so much time and money monitoring water chemistry if it’s just simple math and schooling and everything’s okay lol, just pour your PH9 water in with your PH6 😂

      @abcd1234jason Před 3 lety

      No way! Tell me how 3 gallon bag is going contaminate a 300+ gallon tank,you shouldn't actually put the fish directly into different water the shock can kill them, leave them in the bag and add water from the tank into the bag every hour till the bag is full then release them, yea more then one way to skin a cat so don't tell people what to do when everyone is different.

    Just a little heads up, next time do not pour the water the minows came in into your pond. pour it over a net into a bucket and then dump the minows in the pond. That water has super hi amonia and other chemicals that the bait nursery puts in the water to keep the minows alive for transportation. Besides that awesome looking enviroment for the bass and blue gill. They are going to outgrow that little stock tank soon!

      Actually those few fish will not outgrow that tank anytime soon as long as the water quality and oxygen level is maintained. You'd be amazed at how small of a tank you can keep large fish in. I used to grow dozens of bass, bluegill and catfish in a stock tank like that but circulated the water through an above ground swimming pool that was covered with water hyacinths and water lettuce which filtered out ALL of the impurities. The filter pool was also used to breed and raise gambusia minnows and goldfish for feeders.

    • @MichiganTropicals
      @MichiganTropicals Před 2 lety +7

      I was going to say the same thing as well. I'm 2 weeks late here, I own a fish store and order thousands of feeders ever week and dumping the water in will definitely deplete your water quality. It would probably be a good idea to get a smaller horse trough to put the feeders in so your fish don't become gut loaded. Semi tame fish that has a semi regular schedule tend to over eat when yoo much food is offered at 1 time. Just a heads up other then that it looks really good guys keep up the hard work!.

    • @Rattlerjake1
      @Rattlerjake1 Před 2 lety +4

      Too time consuming because this type of minnow must grow to a minimum size before they are mature! BUT they should have a second pond to put the new minnows into so they can pick out all of the dead to freeze. The frozen ones can be thawed and thrown to the bass when needed. The minnows being kept in the separate pond can be fed to the bass as needed. The will last far longer. When there are too many in the pond like this the bass and bream will tend to kill and over eat and spit up man of them, which will go to waste, even if the catfish eat some of them.
      Also, those minnows should have been floated and released as soon as they arrive. Every minute they sit, waiting to be "filmed" is causing more stress and less available oxygen.

    If a hog ever successfully jumps that high fence we better check him for hidden wings. Hey Keaton, my man, how about learning part of the sign-off so you & Houston can outro together?

    Those fish were $110.00 and free shipping. They are goldfish minnows and if any get big enough so the others can't eat them then you will have some good limb line bait. Then you can catch some big blues to put in your tank. Good luck with your adventure. Isn't it great to have a dad that gives a helping ✋ hand.

    You outta get a cast net and go to ponds and catch minnows and shad and feed them to them when they get bigger.
