Very nice!! 114 seems to be the high speed for a 144001. This month I'm starting with a cheap 4300 goolrc combo, next month I'm going to get the combo you have for my 144001, I have added a few things that I hope will help especially at high speeds, I could be wrong, can't wait to test it.

I did this same exact combo. Went 70 mph with small foam tires.
@@fstrthnu373 I'll be happy with 70, I knew I wasn't going to break any records, but it is my first speed run, so I don't need a hundred yet. About 55 mph with a 1/10 is the fastest I've been, I need the practice. Normally when I start something new I go all the way, like a double motor limitless, but I want to save a little money this time.

Amazing work mate. 99 mph😍 ... Wow she's fast. You need a gyro on it to keep it straight.I think you may have one on your controller . you just need to adjust to a higher rate of gain due to its size and the speed. Amazing work on such a tiny car.
My thoughts...
I would set the car up on one end of the parking lot and then walk down to the other end .Use one of the orange cones there to set by the car so that it's visible. that way you're sure the car is set up for the run and go diagonally across the parking lot to get the most amount of space to run the car.

Thanks 👍 you've been a source of much inspiration at a time when we need it the most, pouring with rain again here today so I was lucky to get that in, you'd have found the brakes heart stopping! I was just running out of room as it's quick low down but the brutal acceleration as the revs rise and it gets in the power band. It was accelerating like a rocket when I had to hit the brakes! Been very warm where you are I see!
@@DriftomaniacsRC it's actually amazing what these cars are capable of in such a short distance! Sure you need to out lay a little for good electronics but you can't put a price on the high these cars give you at that speed😁 top work mate and thanks for the encouragement! Yes it been blistering heat and then solid rain 🤞 just waiting to get out for another pass but this time geared up slightly and lower kV

According to Castle, the Sidewinder 4 combo with 1406-6900kV can't do 3s. Glad to see you buy italian tyres from USA! ;)
I checked on Castle website. Richie is actually running this motor overvolted, since Castle rates it 2s capable. If you buy this kit be careful guys, if you run it 3s it won't probably last for long!

Ok, Richie...I might not be getting this...but, I DID just get my yellow Losi Mini-B. First upgrade will be the ESC & motor. Will let you know when it's ready to run at the college lot.
Very impressive with that setup however, I would’ve liked to have seen the GPS zeroed out before you made the pass.
how do you adjust the brakes to full power? and also what is the servo you're using?
Savox servo, you need to look on the castle website for the manual for the esc you are using. Although I use the castle b-link to adjust the brakes via the app on all my castle esc's. Once you've got the app and the b-link you won't want to use anything else

I bought the 124019 and the124018. I'm keeping the 124018 stock( except some basher wheels) and modding the 124019 for speed runs. this way I'll have a full drivetrain for the 124018 new when I bash it to oblivion!!!

Just had an idea for ya. See if you can add the front wing from the TLR 22 5.0. While it will create a little additional drag, it'll also keep the nose down...will be VERY helpful when you change the gearing to make it even faster (which I KNOW you'll be doing).

What battery?
So at high speeds, is the 124019 actually more stable than the 144001? I haven't seen anyone say it is, other than theoretically speaking before their runs. I want to know if it's worth upgrading.

A lot of no prep cars run 7600kv castle motors. Thr right front arm looks like it might be damaged.
You keeping an eye on the motor temps doing those runs? How hot did it get?
It's not running hot to the touch, I rarely take a temp gun out in the field, if you're worrying about the temp of the motor chances are the build's all wrong, even after flat out passes the can's only lukewarm at best
How long does the battery last with this motor
What kind of temperatures do you usually get at that speed? I can't imagine how hard that system is pumping!!
Not a clue I'm afraid! Only ever use the temp gun at home. Car only weighs around 1lb so not a lot of load

6:08 Unless it was programmed differently, I think the throttle curve should just be an angled line. Not like a combustion motor with a power band that is possibly arched or something. It seemed like what you were describing was kind of like a turbo spooling on a combustion motor.
Kind of but I've found with high Kv motors that all the power seems at high revs with nominal low down torque, once the thing hit 40 or or so it pulled visibly a lot faster. Every time I've had a high KV motor that's not been able to rev it's like driving with a blown turbo, they have very little power until they get moving into the power band
