I enjoy DIY projects - anything from automotive, small engine repair, wood working, home projects, electronics, you name it.
This channel started with a series of videos i made to document a major engine repair on a motorcycle i bought, and has since expanded a bit to be a home for any of the projects i feel like doing videos of. I'm a one-man-operation (who also has a day job and 4 kids), and I'm also a big believer in "quality over quantity"...so video uploads can be infrequent.
Anyhow, thanks for visiting - if you like this type of content, the best way to support for free is to simply like/comment/share my videos and subscribe to the channel. If you also want to chip in a buck or two, I would love you for it, and it would definitely help fund more projects 😁. www.buymeacoffee.com/lightningfrog27

HarvestRight Freeze Dryer: stuck on "Starting up..." SOLVED
HarvestRight freeze dryers work great until they dont. I've seen a lot of people with this problem, but no consistent solutions. I discovered something that fixed the problem for me and several others. Sharing with the internet to hopefully help someone out somewhere someday.

6:40 jesus christ don't film directly into the bulb lens like that. Are you trying to blind people?
You rock man great info!
So for some reason my acid for my new battery all isn’t taking , only one tank is dry, the others are varying levels, they only take if I tap the bottles and that isn’t a defined thing either
I just had that issue after and outpower, i downloaded the files from the troubleshooting harvestright, didn't work, then i call costumer service and contact technician he sent me other files and work perfect
It worked for me. Thank you!!!
Motocycle battery ?
Yeah, the battery in the video is for a 2015 CBR300R motorcycle.
I tried this! The clock was indeed not correct so I changed it to the right time and still nothing. Thank you anyway..
I am stuck on start up just like you described!!! I am about to go down and try this solution!! Pray for me!! This machine is too expensive to fail and it’s almost brand new!!!!
Please report back if it works. Good luck!!
I ordered the exact bulb for my 2015 cbr300. The installation was like on a car (simple). They looked just like yours, however, when using turn signals it would flash turnsignal then headlight with no stop. Also, the bike wouldnt start with the led headlights in. Everything is stock. I took them out ans put in the original bulbs. It started up fine and turn signals worked as expected. Any advice???
How did the lights look after you installed the leds? Did it light up the road pretty good?
They looked great! Similar position and throw on the road, just white instead of orange, and a decent bit brighter 😎
Does it matter which direction the acid is put in ?
Do you mean which order? No, I think it doesn't matter either you do any individual cell before the others as long as you fill all of them within a few minutes of each other.
I'm so happy I know I have access to this tutorial in case of engine troubles !
Thank you so much for sharing this ! I just bought a 2019 Cb300r with 45000km !
any update? im thinking about going electric, and wondering how your results were?
I haven't made much progress.... partially because I've been pretty busy, but also I've been pretty worried that I'll screw up the next part. One of the things I did recently that I haven't made a video about - I built an electric go kart. Was super helpful for understanding the electrical layout and drive train. Hopefully I'll have more time to work on it this summer!

Wondering ifmyoumever finished this?
😅 not yet. I've still got about 2 $2k worth of new parts in boxes waiting for me to find the time and motivation to figure it out. I did build an electric gokart last year as a sort of skill building project....so I feel like I understand it a little better. Hopefully I can make time for it this summer!
Thanks, my bike would tell me it’s 5 am at 9 pm 😂
trying this on cb500x which is pretty similar to yours, except the clutch stake is a beefy beefy piece of steel. I ended up pushing a part of it into the gap and now is proper stuck. FML
Thanks , I'll check mine as well . Done many updates to my large , filters , rewired the relay heater system , added a vent system instead of the drain (goofy) .Not as good as the SF but way better . VT
To anyone that wants to avoid putting a towel in your engine, just buy a MotionPro brand gear jammer. Costs a few bucks and is able to take the load of torquing the bolts just fine.
Nice, I will share this out and see if it actually works
Hi may i ask if its a problem if i use the same sealant? Thanks
Hi bro I have some qurry about Cbr300r fairing headlight and tank can fit with cbr250r chassis?

Dude you are not a mechanic? You doing amazing, congratulations!
1:40 that piston don't looks so good!
Great job bro thanks for the video
so i need a trickle charger to charge the brand new battery? i dont get it. but solid video so thanks
Yep! a little counterintuitive...but the charger basically pushes ions off of the anode and onto the cathode. the ion imbalance is what gives us the voltage :)
@@lightningfrog27 gotcha, just ordered a charger 😅 thanks again!
What is the length of the original screws?
Thanks for this video :D

Where’d you get that manual for it online?

HOLY $htttt the same thing happened too me they said the recall has been done but actually hasn’t im soo happy you made this playlist
I like this format. Very informative and clear, and i learned a lot
Ummm my drained extremely quick like within a minute or two....
Yeah, mine did too. Instructions say to let it take 20 minutes.... probably to let bubbles rise out and/or get any last tiny drops. I bet it would be fine if you didn't wait the full 20 minutes.
Thanks for a simple easy video.
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic! I tried on my own and failed. These instructions worked like a dream. Now my projector works great. Thanks!
can someone send this exhaust to india ❤
i bet some reseller would....not sure what shipping to india is though!
1:29 I can’t unclip it dude
i think i ended up using a flathead screwdriver after removing that plastic push rivet....it was definitely one of the more difficult connections to break! I actually forgot about that particular connection while i was originally filming this, which is why that bit at 1:29 is a still image with a groggy sounding voice over. Sorry, and good luck!
Thanks bro
Glad it helped!
Asking if the plastic is broken how to fixed,so that leak battery at all
Top plastic if broken how to closed?
That's a really tough question....it needs to be sealed not only for reliable batter function, but also for safety.... battery acid is pretty dangerous! I've seen videos of people using a tool that looks kinda like a soldering iron along with some extra plastic sticks to kinda "weld" cracked plastic shut, but I'm not sure what materials or temperature they used, or even if it worked well afterwards. If I had a broken battery case, I think I'd recommend just replacing it. Good luck!
hello, maybe someone that watches this or even yourself can answer my question… i just got my CBR300R last week from an auction and i want to remove the gas tank but i don’t know if the remaining gas will come out from one of the pipes that need to be removed (can’t take it out from the gas cap because i don’t have the keys)
To get gas out from a locked gas tank, you'll probably need to put 12 volts power into the fuel pump - it will push fuel from the tank to the fuel line. If you've got the tank off of the bike, just put a fuel rated plastic tube or fuel line from the fuel pump into a gas can or a bucket, and then give power to the fuel pump. Pretty sure the 5 pin connector leading to the fuel pump has a black and a red...you'd need to put +12 v on the red, and ground on the black on the corresponding pins that are on the fuel pump itself. good luck, and let us know how it works out!
@@lightningfrog27 thank you for answering!! turns out the fuel pump was dead and i changed it, when i disconnected everything it didn’t spill any gas (which was my concern) so i just disassembled all the fuel pump and let the gas drain through that whole:) thank you for the help and awesome videos👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome! Glad that worked well for you 🙂
does not help much as every dry battery i look at had a bottle of acid not one of those fill packs
yeah, the fill pack was new to me when i was making this video, but BOY was it easier. When it comes with a jug of acid, you just have to be careful to add the specified amount to each cell. I've found that a pipette (looks like a tiny turkey baster) works great for dialing in the exact amount, since it's really difficult to be accurate with just a funnel. Good luck!
What if i cant shift it to neutral when trying to line up the m and ex my bike was stolen and got it back from the police with it stuck in first.
not sure, but i kinda assume that some piece of the shifter linkage maybe got bent. i dont think the clutch or transmission would get damaged too easily, but if the thief was an incompetent rider, maybe he stomped on the gear shifter, or maybe dropped it on the side and the ground or a curb hit the gear shift?? Sorry that happened bro. Good luck getting everything all fixed up again!
Hey.. when key is on position, my odo doesn't show anything. You know why?
Does the rest of the instrument cluster light up? Like....is it JUST the odometer?
@@lightningfrog27 i can't get to my clock to change time
When did you cross the 1K subs count? Great video! The memes were flying per usual. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! Feels like it has been nearly a year since i crossed the 1k barrier. my biggest challenge now is raising my view hours....
Can you please just fix up a motorcycle and give it to me? Your work with upgrading your bikes seems great. Plus A+ on the memes lol
Glad you liked it!
Great video, helped me get through this project. I ended up needing a friend to help me torque the rear sprocket hardware (new bolts and nuts ordered from partzilla for like $20) to prevent stripping it. Definitely needed an impact on the original nut alone with standing on the hub and using a foot to keep the allen/hex from moving (even jammed the old sprocket teeth against a metal cabinet + used an extractor socket since the last nut stripped). Only thing I noticed is that the up/down arrow on the rear swingarm next to the axle bolt is supposed to be to the left of the axle nut and align with the green area above around the 5:20 mark in the video. Adjusted the chain for 1" play and it's been running great now, used to skip teeth/hesitate/jerk on low rpm pulls. Thanks again for making this!!
Glad to hear you made it through and that my video helped!!
Very comprehensive, cheers.
Do the LED lights cast more light off to the sides, outside the main beam, since overall brightness is higher?
They shouldnt have a wider beam, because the light source of the LED is in the same location as the light source from the OEM light.....which is directed by the reflector forward and onto the road. Long story short, should be a brighter beam, not a different spread.
Amazing video dude! If I ever get a motorcycle I’ll refer to this video 🗣️
