“LEND” or “BORROW”? What’s the difference?
When do you use the word “lend”, and when do you use “borrow”? It’s easy to get these two words mixed up. In this English vocabulary lesson I’ll explain the difference between them, with some simple example sentences, followed by a test towards the end of the video which we can work through together. Can I have lessons on how to make correct grammatical inferences and connotations now?
I have a summer job teaching ESL and had no idea how to teach this to my students when it came up in our textbook. As native English speakers we don't usually think about these subtle differences, and we don't learn them in school.
