So the show was actually filmed in Charleston South Carolina, and a few parts of season 2 in Barbados. Outer Banks is a real place in North Carolina….kinda sorta similar to the show. Figure Eight is a real place but only accessible by boat, and to those living in the area…..and there’s a version of The Cut as well. Kildare though isn’t real it’s just derived from two counties “Kill” and “Dare.” Fun fact: Madelyn Cline “Sarah” is from Goose Creek South Carolina right outside of Charleston, Madison Bailey “Kie” is from Kernersville North Carolina, and Drew Starkey “Rafe” is from North Carolina, and Madison’s girlfriend Mariah Linney (Madison is pansexual) is also from Goose Greek South Carolina. So it was kind of meant to be that all of them ended up on the show together (minus Mariah) and became friends.
