THE INCREDIBLE RIVO DIGITAL QUILT
THE INCREDIBLE RIVO DIGITAL QUILT
Created by Master Digitographer
Richard Marvin Voigt - RIVO
Richard Marvin Voigt (RIVO) is a Wisconsin born artist, author, educator, film-maker and inventor. His artistic creations were redirected from traditional forms of art to digital art in 1987. Fascinated by the powerful potential of his newly built computers, they afforded him unlimited flexibility in creating and designing compositions that soon began to satisfy his personal passion for digital art.
As he became more adept in handling software functions, he began experimenting with complex pixel restoration, archiving thousands of family photographs, old slides and documents; bringing each back to their original quality. Throughout his life, he has taken hundreds of thousands of photographs and created thousands of original works of art that lead to experimentations in creating his Digital Quilt.
Each digital quilt composition is an abstract kaleidoscopic rendering of a person, place or object in the artist’s life. The reoccurring theme he set for his quilt, places an emphasis on line, color and texture that often create optical illusions that play with perceptions; some advance while others retreat in his spatial and colorful compositions. With over 1400 compositions in this incredible digital quilt collection, when placed end-to-end the entire canvas quilt spans the length of over fourteen (14) professional football fields.
He has always admired the intricacy of hand-sewn quilts but wanted to create one on a grand scale using his unique approach. Just as each traditional quilt tells a story, so does each section of his quilt. Each 38” x 38” canvas quilt section can be placed contiguously up a wall, continue across ceilings, around corners and even constructed into shapes that can hang from the ceiling or connect on the floor in the form of a three-dimensional maze.
Many of these digital compositions capture the symmetrical wonders found growing in the prolific Wisconsin garden oasis his wife Lynn and he have created. Since they began sharing their garden on CZcams with over 1,000 video productions, their garden has now been seen by millions of avid gardeners from 132 countries.
This rare glimpse into one of RIVO’s thematic galleries is an intriguing insight into the creative mind of an artist who passionately explores non-traditional approaches in art while exploring new technology layered with a sense of eastern and western philosophy. If you appreciate and respect a creative mind, then this rare colorful collection will please and inspired your love for balance and metaphoric reflection.

Growing Peaches In Wisconsin Video Blog 1073 - www.WisconsinGarden.com

Yes, we are growing peaches in Wisconsin. Two of our Elberta free-stone peach trees are ready for picking. It’s funny because all 5 baby peach trees sprouted from dormant seeds from our two original Elberta peach trees long gone. Three years ago we transplanted these baby trees to our orchard area and this year they are bountiful. Another Elberta peach tree we purchased from fast-growing-trees ...

Our June Weed Patch area has been a reoccurring problem for many years and needed to be reclaimed. We brought in another 150 bags, 2 pallets, of bagged mulch last week. Before we could begin we had to weed whack our way through invasive quack grass which covered everything. Once we could find the plants we wanted to keep, we decided that this area was so problematic, we added 2-layers of weed b...

Last fall we rototilled and clean up all of our raised beds. We decided to try a new garden experiment by covering several beds with weed barrier material. Now 80 holes are ready for planting. Now that all the holes are in place, w...

Hi Suzanne, quick answer for the straw bale gardening. If you try it, tie the bales with twine to hold them together for a longer time. They like to split apart. Veggies did well, but easier to plant directly into the ground, but if a person didn't have safe ground (lead in soil) it would be a good alternative. Thank you, Suzanne for watching and sharing. I think the reason you only add a little water to the Borax is so that the mixture stays a solid and the ants feed and also take come back to the colony for other ants to feed on and die. If it's too much of a liquid it will the ant, but it can't take any back to the colony.

Hello, Drew. Unfortunately, regardless of all we do, the weeds continue. That's gardening for you. Thank you for checking up on us. We are fine. After doing so many videos in our garden, we thought people might have seen enough of us. Richard has taken on a new project of an artistic type. It takes almost all of his time, but he is enjoying it a great deal. Thank you for your kind comments. Lynn & Richard www.WisconsinGarden.com

I saw this plant today and was so attracted to it I cut off a piece of it planted off the sidewalk. I look it up and found your video. The two of you are such a loving couple and your green thumb inspired me to plant the portion I cut off the mother plant. Thankyou, your video was informative.

I’m in Omro Wisconsin, and I thank you for this info! We have 3 rhubarb plants that all went to seed by 3rd week of May…didn’t know what to do …now I’ll confidently cut the big stalks out!

Hi Sharien, it just seems too soon for Rhubarb to go to seed, but taking off the seed stalk doesn't hurt the plant at all. If you left it on, more energy would go to making seeds and less for making yummy Rhubarb. Thank you also for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard www.WisconsinGarden.com

Oh how fun, to have a reunion with that many women! It looks like they all enjoyed themselves

Hi Suzanne. They are a wonderful group of women. Some I have known since First Grade. Our next picnic is coming up this month and I'm looking forward to seeing many of them again this year. Cedarburg was a small town back in the day, so many of us kept in touch all these year. Thank you also for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard www.WisconsinGarden.com

This was a fun one! I started at video #1 several months ago, and have been working my way through them, enjoying each one.

You are such a lovely person to be watching so many. We have had a lot of fun and our viewers jumped right in to show how many bloopers a person can make over time. LOL :) Thank you also for watching, caring and sharing. Lynn & Richard www.WisconsinGarden.com
