    Don't do it. This horrible fate may not be for you. My issue was the A/C but it was not the evaporator core. Screwlership misdiagnosed me and almost charged me the maximum possible of $3533.04 to part replace everything. If the following is true it's not the evaporator core. 1. Use cheap $14 eBay endoscope at Evaporator Core drain to see it's clean. 2. The A/C leak was too sudden. 3. No sweet smell in the car. Caution: Don't let mechanic touch your a/c system with non-electric A/C compressor gauges or oil dye. Toyota Dealer will at least not contaminate the A/C gauges with non-prius refrigerant oil or dye. My issue was a leak on one of the pipes: czcams.com/video/mupA0GR6QbA/video.htmlsi=YtwoLUXl3jbcmdRD You can use Alumbond aluminum putty repair kit potentially for my issue or part replace it for $20 at junkyard like I did.

      Side not not mentioned in the video. It might be possible to remove the head without removing the camshaft sprockets, thus not needing the timing tool. This may be accomplished by marking the timing chain and camshaft sprockets with paint before removal to ensure they are reinstalled in the same position. If sufficient slack can be gained from the chain, the camshafts MIGHT be removable from the head before the head is removed from the vehicle. IF THIS METHOD IS ATTEMPTED, the timing chain MUST stay tight to the crankshaft while the camshafts are removed. If it jumps just one tooth, severe engine damage may occur. Proceed at your own risk. This method could, however, save approximately 1 hour of time and $100, the cost of camshaft sprocket bolts and the tool.

    • @fixaday
      @fixaday Před měsícem

      @@stevenpringle7813 Same way on the 580E. They are blind pockets, the bushings have to be weld-shrunken, machined out, or require some other unconventional method. I can’t remember what the manual says off the top of my head.

    • @fixaday
      @fixaday Před měsícem

      I honestly think so, I see tons of them with 200k+ miles. They’re pretty good quality wise besides the PCV and coolant leaks. I think a lot of the hate comes from people ignoring warnings and doing immediate damage, whereas other brands/engines are more resilient. Sort of like the 2.4s in the Neons and PT Cruisers, you only get a few overheats before you blow a head gasket whereas a Jeep/AMC 4.0 can take dozens of overheats before blowing one. I’m in love with this car though, and I’m incredibly picky.

    i had a 2016 Cruse LT 1.8L and the timing chain went out at exactly 100k for a maintenance. And also right after that happened or before the oil cooler went was the coolant was getting into the engine from the oil cooler. • @fixaday
      @fixaday Před 2 měsíci

      Not sure which piece you’re talking about. There is a pear-shaped flange on the upper pin. If you’re referring to that, it’s used to fasten the pin to the swing tower to prevent rotation in the swing tower bore. It helps focus rotation to only the bushing.

    EXCELLENT! thanks for the work! PS. watch the backhoe frame's attach pins.... I would suspect that the tension rods are not torqued properly.

    Thanks for making this video, and especially for showing the glow plug timer part number and pin out. I am working on an IHI 30JX with 3LB1 and am chasing down an intermittent glow plug issue so this has been very helpful. It has no starting trouble but the glow plugs will come on randomly whilst operating. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 👍

    • @fixaday

      That’s a symptom my original timer had, which I believe led to the failure of two of my glow plugs. Glad you found it helpful!

    I’m not too worried about the removing part, it’s putting it back together. I don’t think I’ll be able to remember where all those plugs and connectors go. Was it pretty self explanatory when putting it all back together?

    • @fixaday
      @fixaday Před 5 měsíci

      Yes. Only confusion was one white connector on the drivers side near the main reinforcement tube, but that was because it didn’t go to anything.

    I have a 2011 and changed the radio head unit and somehow ended up with a blown radio fuse, but your video lead me to the other blown fuses under the dash. I only had the U0129 code no history codes and changing the ecu IG and the ecu acc fuse and cleared my codes now its all working fine. Your video saved my day...😁

    So what ended up being the cause of diesel in the engine oil?

    • @fixaday
      @fixaday Před 5 měsíci

      @single94supra No idea honestly, but I still subtly suspect it was an injector pump. At the moment its been sitting for 7 months and the oil level hasn’t risen, so maybe it fixed itself or it’ll come back in the future.

      @ricarola It was a long time ago so I can’t remember exactly, but I believe it was an older version that only went up to about 2014.
