Every guitar manufacturer in the world makes mistakes and every guitar manufacturer in the world has to warranty. So it's no big deal. I play albinism's. I have several abenecies. I have Yamahas. I have fenders and some I have more problems with the other and we could go into month's worth of talks inside which one has more problems. My question is if you've been playing guitar as long as you say you have and you're as good as you say you are. Why would you not know there's a problem? That's my question. I can pick up a guitar and I'm not that great at it and I've been playing for 40 years and I can pick up a guitar and instantly tell you the problems with it. So that's my question to you. Why didn't you know it was a problem just saying?

How tf you not hear Time of Dying until now lmao? I'm not trying to roast you I'm just like.... how? I'm Gen Z and I went DEEP into 3DG in high school. It definitely wasn't popular, but it was good ass music.

This used to be my favorite song when I was really young and 3dg is my childhood pretty much, I think it still holds up today its quite good!

Please I was listening to this song yesterday and thought the same thing!! 😭 The dotted 6/4 rhythms make it sound almost like 12/8 but in a way that fits better with the standard verse afterwards, such a cool riff

Could have a faulty neck maybe a bump in the fingerboard manufacturing issue I would contact them I have played new guitars with that issue if you explain to them they will understand

Why be a prick about it though?Why does the title of the video read "dont buy them", period, instead of saying "don't buy them if you have nitro finished guitars". They clearly state their product is not made for nitro finished guitars, and thankfully most people can read a simple product title and even better, pick a less dated and unnecessarily sensitive finish on their instruments. Could have saved you 11mins of video by just saying "rtfm" :P

Why you have your monitors plugged into your PC. That makes no sense

They probably dont care because most players with extra string guitars just play the open lowest strings

I have one just like this, got this before I like how unique it is compared what I generally like and get in shape, configuration and feel. I also felt the pickups are lackluster so I switched those to BKPs (my favorite) silos and trilogy suite and it is amazing

Beautiful guitar...Stainless frets do last way longer than standard and I got them on my last Warmoth neck...there are conflicting opinions on the next two topics but I'll give you my honest opinion: they do add a subtle bit of high end upon attack which was actually a positive since the body I put it on was a bit on the warm side...what I don't like about them is that they feel 'harder' to me compared to standard frets which have a softer feel when the strings are bouncing off of them..this may sound odd but I definitely feel a difference..it certainly wasn't a deal breaker but I wouldn't get them again

The summary is: it not much of a problem, don't worry too much, you can get used to it. Based on that level of enthusiasm you must be an engineer. ❤️👍😅

I'm glad you had a good experience. My experience of Ibanez in the UK has been very different. I ordered a new RG6PKAG from PMT (premium range £1.5k). The first one arrived with the tone pot smashed in through the top and the lacquer on the back of the neck peeling off. I took this back to PMT, and they arranged a replacement. The replacement came, and after a while a problem with the EMG-61 bridge pickup started. The output would intermittently drop to rough 50%. I sent it back to PMT who forwarded it on to Headstock under warranty (the UK Ibanez distributor). They had it for a number of weeks, claimed they couldn't see the problem, claimed they'd re-soldered a dry joint and sent it back to me. A few months later and the same problem happened again. So, I returned it to PMT (again) who forwarded it to Headstock (again). They repeated claimed there was no fault, but I protested. I explained the issue about fifty different ways, and finally someone acknowledged they'd identified "an issue". BUT - the remedy was a new pickup, which they had to order form..... get this.... JAPAN! This blows my mind since I can order an EMG from Amazon in the UK and have it within 24 hours. Apparently this is how their warranties work!?!?!? Ok - so I wait, and no news. I keep calling PMT for updates, then finally I'm told they've arranged to supply the EMG and get it replaced. Another couple of weeks go by. I call again and am told the new EMG didn't fix the problem, and they don't know what to do next. I tell them to get their act together and get back to me. THEN, I get an out of the blue call from PMT to tell me they have my guitar back. Ok, I thought, so what did you fix? They tell me it was just the EMG. Hmmmm. Anyway, they say they've tested it themselves and will immediately ship it back to me. Next day the guitar arrives, I unpack it, and all the back plates are not on the guitar - wires hanging out - the strings are totally slack - and the three locking nut screws which were pristine jet black now look like they've been swapped from a 40 year old guitar, worn silver and the hex holes rounded out (obviously not my screws) - and there is a big screwdriver gouge in the natural wood top next to the EMG screw hole. What an absolute piss take. This has taken over 3 months, and I get it back looking like a second hand guitar. Not even sure the problem has actually been fixed. So, Ibanez/Headstock has been in possession of my guitar nearly longer than I have and have completely trashed it under warranty. My guitar tech tells me he's heard this story over and over. The guys working at these distribution companies are not guitar techs and have no business doing warranty work.

I'm borrowing my friend's Iron Label 7string, it has the same issue with the high string being way too close to the edge of the fretboard. Not just that, but the fretwork isn't great so it has a tendency to get pushed off and caught under one of the fret ends lol, it's rough. There's always the chance of getting a dud when you're not springing for an MIJ

i wanted to like these so bad. i hated almost everything about the one i played. it was at a guitar center though so im sure ibanez sent them a b stock piece of trash that they were going to throw away anyway and then the fine folks at guitar center made it so it would never be playable again.

Do you by any chance know the manufacture date? I own the number 2 prototype for the silverburst standard and was told that would make it the second ever silverburst SG ever made. Hearing your story makes me wonder if that might not be the case. Not that that would make me love it any less

I bought a HH "second" Strandberg intending to use it as a "travel" guitar. I thought the pickups sounded too "metallic" for me. I researched pickups with a definite budget limit. (Otherwise, I probably would have chosen Lollar Imperials.) I settled on a Tom Anderson HF1/HF2 set. They cost ~$210 USD for the set. I'm very happy with them. If you have a Strandberg and you're considering replacing the pickups, I recommend you consider the Andersons. I also swapped out the knobs because they were too smooth.

"Fuzzy pickups"... I can't detect the blur in your video. Maybe the grain of the CZcams compression makes it go away. I have a Q54 and its pickup sounds are clear and defined, not only to my ears, but also to others who have tried my guitar. Is it a matter of listening attitude/education or different interpretation of perceived sounds or guitar pairing with pedals and amp?

Don't they just make the fingerboard longer for 24 frets? It seems like a short cut

I'm happy for you to have solved that issue. Kudos to Ibanez! Anyway, my policy is always to buy directly in a shop and never on line. In this way I can directly deal with persons and I'm not stressed by far and virtual relationships.
