    I was searching for how to strip down an RG to bare wood and somehow found this model I didn't know existed! This is exactly how I wanted to make mine look like haha. I love the look! Thanks for the review!

    Great review my man, Maybe couldve used a bit more clean sounds in there but besides that its a great rundown of the guitar.

    I've got one, I like the Tone Zone vs the JB a bit more because the highs are alot richer, and the bottom end is tighter. It's right between the emg and the JB in my opinion

    Really awesome review! How did you find the quality of the fretwork on this guitar? Any sharp edges or uneven fret levels? Thanks :)

      Thanks! Nothing seems off about them to me, but it doesn’t have the Premium treatment like the higher tier models

    Wow is the volume knop is made from real wood??, I'm exited and expected to get this one, I love it's looks antique, and feeling of wood is somethings different from playing with the other guitars.

      I think they’re real wood but not sure - either way it’s an amazing guitar! I play it everyday and love it more and more

    If you haven't already, you should try an original Kahler trem. They are incredible!

      Never tried one. Do they still make you solder when changing strings?

    Any issues with your higher frets and high e string?? I get buzz or even nothing at all at and after around the 21st fret on mine. Brand new too.

      Sounds like a setup issue. I get that when I bend on the 22nd feet of the high E but only after I recently lowered the action and restrung

    Would u compare the trem to be similar to a Floyd Rose special with the cheaper zinc metals?

    • @rorycosgrove
      @rorycosgrove  Před 3 lety

      Do you mean in terms of tone or performance? I don’t know much about the materials and I tend to not notice subtle differences in tone that they might make, but the performance equals any original Floyd I’ve played on

      @@rorycosgrove ty for your response! I’ve noticed a lot of the newer guitars are equipped with fr specials cutting corners to cut cost which definitely affects the tone as compared to an original fr or a fr 1500 series which use steel which significantly affects the tone. The special uses zinc which is a softer metal & can deteriorate over time. I’ve noticed that guitars in excess of a grand such as the reissue of the fender hm strat uses the special which baffles me. Take care!

    nice guitar, crappy bridge..

      @rorycosgrove  Před 3 lety

      It’s not though! Works just as well as any Floyd I’ve played

      I've had good luck with mine. Any floating trem is based on string vs string tension. If it isn't staying in tune, you need setup. If the sustain or tone isnt perfect, EQ and compressor pedal will help

    shity cheap trem.., the zr trem and the edge zero1 were the best trems ibanez made... and that week scarf joint is a far cry from the strong 5pc maple wallnut with a volute on the back of the nut... it seems they are really cheaping down the specs to lower the cost of manufacturing and maxing on the profit.
