did you use ND filters for these shots? and if so, did you use a good IR cut? If not, that would account for the magenta/red in the shadows, especially blacks and the hula hoop. If you want to really just compare color, then use a super small aperture and shutter angle to get exposure? Maybe that's what you did? Please tell us?

Which ND’s were used? It seems that in some of the shots the difference in colour might be from polarisation. Were they identical and rotated / screwed on to the matching rotation?

That Portkeys fan is an absolute deal killer. I had the Portkeys LEYE and got rid of it. An absolute piece of junk.

A 50mm on a full frame and a 50mm on a S35 are equal as long as you use the lenses manufactured to their specific sensors. If I shoot on a full frame... I'll use lenses for a full frame. If I shoot on an APS-C, I'll use APS-C lenses .

This was a very informative video. Thank you very much for making it. It’s got me kind of confused with what I want to do though. All I really want is for the image that’s on my ninja v to be displayed through an EVF that my eye can press against to get a better view of what is on my ninja v screen. I’m confused how the luts work… for example, if I put a lut on the image from my ninja I would just want that to automatically apply to what I’m seeing through my eyepiece Evf. Do you know what I mean? I don’t need 1 million extra functions on one of these. I would control everything through my ninja and then if I needed a better view of what I’m seeing on my ninja, I could look through my eyepiece and then when I’m recording I would be using the eyepiece Evf….. I know I made that sound much more confusing than it needed to be but I felt like I had to specify in the dumbest way possible ha ha. So for what I want I feel like these are way too expensive. Do you have any thoughts on what I intend to use one of these for? Based on what I’m trying to do do you have any recommendations that are much cheaper? I just hope there is a way that I could use a dedicated external EVF connected to my ninja where I could just see exactly what I’m doing on my ninja screen. I don’t want them to have separate functions.

and the workflow between premiere and after effects? with dynamic link after effects destroy the slog3 that I changed in premiere. Some solution?

hey to whoever may read this. iv'e noticed it occurs not only from profile camera- since it depneds on the grading. for instance if you put the "halation" compound early in the grade say in node 4 or 5 instead of node 20 ( if you have something around 25 nodes for example.. the dead pixel appears and appears alot! so I just wanted to share - node order has significant part in this. check it before you use another plugin or tool

Not to be that guy, but Z log is a color profile. B Raw is a codec. The codec doesn’t affect how flat the image is. You’re comparing 2 different things. The Z cam has a Z raw codec. That would be a more fare comparison to BRaw. Or compare Z Log to Black Magics “Film” color profile in the dynamic range menu. Also, the z cam having better high lights and shadows could be more of a sensor/dynamic range thing.

Thanks for video. I have the Zacuto Gratical HD EVF, which was before yours, and most of your gripes were not on that one: on/off switch, 4 separate buttons for custom assignment plus the 4 way toggle switch, having all waveforms and info separate from picture, it has a 4:3 screen, it also has conversion between SDI to HDMI etc. Yes the 1/4 20 is a pain unless you use the Axis Mini, I personally thinks it might be Zacuto not wanting to pay Arri for the patent but who knows why! They do not even have an M6 screw which can be fitted retrospectively. Zacuto’s kit however is built like a tank and covered by lifetime warranty but not EVF. I’ve had quite of few of their bit and bobs just replaced straight out, even after 4-5 years, no questions asked.

To mount it, just put either a cold shoe adapter or NATO rail connector on the bottom. Easy peasy. Looks like a great unit. Unbeatable value for client monitor. Gonna go buy one now!

How do you mount these to a camera or monitor?

We have this camera but nothing shows on the built in display. If you plug a Ethernet cable into it, the LED's flash on the network port so it is getting power but still nothing on the display and nothing on an external monitor either.
