Trust me, this is NOT the update video that I wanted to make. This is a short explanation of where I've been these past 5 months, and my unfiltered thoughts about the outragous events that happened yesterday in Israel, my home. I won't be making any more videos on this issue, this is simply me getting a heavy weight off of my chest. This video is not monetized.

DUDE me and my sons love JAmes Bond and my son went as him for Halloween... When he died my sons looked at like I was going to tell them he's okay but I couldnt... Once they realized he died They started CRiYING it broke my heart and I serioulsy threw my pop at the screen and we walked out... THX God for my Wife and their Mother She went out the next day and bought 2 old Sean Connery JAmes Bond movies, my kids never seen them before, and told them, "see James Bond isnt dead"... And now my kids try and talk like Sean Connery when they play James Bond... my kids are 5-3... NOW my WIFE is a STRONG Women and Mother...
1:01 to answer your question, D.B., you only have to look at the studio that released the film
I personally think the weakest Best Picture nominee that year was _Four Weddings and a Funeral._ _Pulp Fiction, Shawshank_ and _Quiz Show_ were better than _Forrest_ I admit and _Ed Wood_ should have been nominated. I'd say _Natural Born Killers_ but maybe too audacious for Oscar.
Mine is _Dances with Wolves_ 🐺
The only of those fellow nominees I haven't seen is _Howards End._ The other three are all great (I recommend _The Crying Game_ first or last, depending on how you work).
2:26 try the theatrical cut of _Blade Runner_
😊
😮
Amazing movie. One of my favourites; I watch it every couple of years. Timothy Hutton performance was stellar. Agreed it was more a lead performance but he was put in supporting as there was less competition.
It’s a perfect movie. Wholly entertaining and what a cast!
Thank You for this review !! You are great !!!!!!
I love this film. Awards are ridiculous, films aren't.
Hated this film
Adore this film and Wendy Hiller makes me sob.
Sara Allgood always makes me weep
Watching this video for my online history of film class I'm taking for credits over the summer, this review helped me a lot with pre-movie information! Thank you so much!
I love your ranking. The good the bad and the ugly is also my favorite movie of all time. My only change would be to make once upon a time in America #3. For a few dollars more 4. I would probably rank a fistful of dollars above duck you suckers
10:13 is that a young Woody Harrelson?
very great movies
Congrats man! I'm 4 months late, I barely watch CZcams lately but I always check on your channel every now and then and watch your reviews. Love your content, and love from Israel. Stay safe man. Can you do a review on the movie Contact from 1997? It's one of my favorites and I feel like It's a very overlooked one.
I made a few newbies watch it and they enjoyed it. I. Their opinion its a little long and slow but worth it
The truth that they couldn't handle wasn't that he didn't do it, it was the truth that she lied. To put all your belief in a child and treat their word in the same regard as sainthood is tradition because the opposite would mean that children are capable of corruption as they, the adults, refuse to recognise that they are the very people that corrupted the child's innocence. And once this irrational step is taken, all rationality fades away: you spit on a child's face, you beat up a teenage boy, you punch a man buying groceries, you kill a man's dog, you shoot at him. Clearly a film on how people are run by emotions rather than logic.
For A Few Dollars More is my number 1 choice but to each his own. one thing you can't deny is they're all great movies!
Dam, right, you are. And Phoebe Waller is the culprit. There is no fun past casino royal
To be fair, the book that the film is based on IS about Hannah (the nurse), and not the so called "romance," which is only one chapter. It's been decades since I have read the book, or seen the movie, but that I remember.
This guy's take on Ralph Fiennes comes clearly from other takes. The best playing sidekicks or villains means he didn't see Grand Budapest Hotel, A Bigger Splash, or The Constant Gardner.
Or _Quiz Show_
Some people don't have the patience for the English Patient. It's a beautiful film.
“Once Upon a Time in America” is by far his best film - perhaps the greatest film ever made.
Sunrise is one of my most favorite films. I've seen it many times and love it more each time. Some scenes are so perfect in every manner that I just sit, watch and smile happily at the perfection.
Where are they? They're over at Studio Ghibli.
Good review. The movie didn't make any sense. Horrible characters
The worst sin of this film was Kat's death. The whole sublot about the farmers son was so unbelievably stupid and a huge stray from either the previous film or the book.
The only problem with GBU is the weapons displayed are at least a decade ahead of the time period. However, this is absolutely my favorite movie of all time. Your rankings are spot on.
😂idiotic review
it's your right to think that, sir. appreciate the comment
A witch hunt movie
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I found it majestic and moving, with a superb score!
This is mob justice and vigilanties are terrifying.
It's virtually impossible to appreciate a film made in 1929 when viewing it through 2024 eyes. When I watch a movie I transport myself to the year it was made, something seemingly impossible for most people to do, apparently. I would imagine my being a historian of both film and culture enables me to do this. Look at it as the amazing and ground breaking work that it was and is - a fully sound movie! Songs...dancing...things never experienced before to a movie audience. The lasting greatness of Bessie Love's performance...far more Best Actress deserving than Mary Pickford, who won for her sound debut in COQUETTE. I despise the cheaply overused word "dated" to dismiss a film such as this. Hell, anything from last year is dated, so the word loses all practical meaning. It's what used to be called a cop-out (my goodness! A dated term!)
The narrator's LACK of knowledge of culture, religion, The USA, and devices used in English Literature are now EXPOSED. Black Like Me (1961) was a current piece of literature (for me) about 15 years after this film was done - it uses a near identical literary device for plot development of the book. This movie in all aspects is a sterling example of America's fantastic culture in film during the WWII and post WWII Era. The very best films of all time were made in this brief period, imo.
it's a great film. loved it. saw it twice at the cinema. bought the DVD of the short and long versions.
This movie proves that you dont need historical accuracy to have a great movie. I love the movie, and i love mel gibson. Only thing thats not necessary is the 2nd romance.
I've seen several adaptations of The Turn of the Screw, and this is definitely the best (besides the opera). B&W works great for atmosphere in horror. Colour movies just can't play with light and shadow the same way.
It definitely has its problems, but it has great actors, amazing visuals and costumes, and a grand scale that's just not done anymore. I think the burning of Atlanta is still the most epic scene of its kind (I wish the various Quo Vadis adaptations could make the Great Fire of Rome look this good). Another scene I will always remember is Scarlett trying to fetch the doctor when Melanie is in labour and we see this haunting overhead shot of hundreds, if not thousands, of wounded and dying soldiers at the train station.
I love it *because* it shows how their life was before the war and after. The intro, the wedding and the hunting scene really builds up a life that, while not easy, is still relatively normal, and how their experiences shatter that. Too many "anti-war" movies focus almost entirely on action scenes. This is more about the characters. Also: I've seen it about 6-7 times but I still always cry at the end. If I don't start crying during the final Russian rouluette scene, the funeral definitely does it.
My first serious western (not counting some Bud Spencer/Terence Hill comedies and Winnetou films) was Once Upon A Time In The West, so it will always be my favourite western (and almost my favourite movie, only rivalled by Seven Samurai). I really need to rewatch Once Upon A Time In America. I've seen it twice on tv but both times with a dub and the Hungarian dub made the bizarre decision to have Al Pacino's usual voice actor be Noodles. It feels so WRONG. (Oddly enough, the same actor also used to be Sir David Attenborough's Hungarian voiceover, but he sounded prety diffferent there.)
I always thouhht Steiger was influenced by Eli.Wallace's Tuco If your gonna copy ...copy from the best
You dont know what your talking about!!!!
Where will be new video. No offense i just asking
None taken:) Hopefully soon, but I can't promise. I've recently entered a very busy stage in my life outside of CZcams, so it's hard for me to find the time or the will power to make content. However, with that being said, I definitely will come back and make more videos, it's just a question of when. When I'll make a new video I'll let you know via the community tab beforehand.
@@IaMD.B. 👍😀 thanks
So many comments on films being robbed at the oscars etc., - why look at a movie through the "awards" lense at all? If audiences (not necessarily everyone) enjoyed a movie, isnt that the real prize already?
How you know this movie was written by women. 1. The title is no time to die. Then he dies. Makes no sense. 2. They killed him off symbolizing killing off masculinity. Makes no sense. 3. The main bad guy's motivation. You guessed it.. makes no sense. Barabara Broccoli and Pheobe Waller Bridge ruined the ending. They want more strong women in Bond films. We dont go to Bond films to see him as a family man and have women gain the upperhand.
