This is such an annoying feature!! All Hyundai has to say in response to any of the comments is “have you opened a case?” Maybe try telling people how to turn it off. Instead of blowing off everyone who clearly hate this feature with that lame response.

2022 Hyundai PHEV here. Doors wouldn't open, tailgate wouldn't open, remote unlock would not work. We had to use the mechanical key technique. There are two additional pieces of information you need that are not in this video. First, you only have to push the key fob in on the underneath side underneath side about 1/8 in. The second you will need a washcloth to protect the surface of your car and the flathead screwdriver to pry off the little cover that you can see on the right hand of the video above. We got into the car, confirmed that there was no electricity for any of the accessories, and called roadside assistance for a jump. Jump starting a phev is simple enough once you learn how. But looking at that battery is like time travel from the future. So....complex! If you don't feel like relying on roadside assistance, I recommend that as a PHEV owner, you take the cover off the battery, have a look, and familiarize yourself with the process in advance.

I have a brand new $36K Tucson SEL and have spent 2 Days reading and researching how to get the Rear Dome Light to function? or even come on at all? and still have not found a way. It's like it is not even wired and there's no way to tell? A simple On/OFF Slide switch on that light would have helped to isolate the problem. . . Manual P. 542 is Useless. I am P*ssed.
