Most likely it was cancelled because you have another device with your ID on it that has not been turned off. If that's the issue then you must do that first.

You may have to delete and add however many email accounts then, but if you have more than one email and you're having an issue then it may be another problem occurring. Odds are you're only having issues with one account, but if all of them are not working you can always remove each of them then add back in. If still an issue then it could be an issue with the app itself. (That's doubtful but possible.) If that's the case then you could remove all the email accounts, then delete the app, then download the mail app again and add your email accounts back in.

support.apple.com/en-us/101593 - follow this link, you'll want to mark your phone as stolen - if you try to do account recovery and that device is still on then it won't work, it'll cancel, so you'll want to get the phone marked as stolen/lost first

Keep in mind this from the article I linked below: To sign in to iCloud.com/find, you don't need to enter a verification code - so you can use Find Devices, even if your trusted device is lost or stolen.

If the phone number is the same then you can do that, try signing in. If you can successfully sign in then it automatically cancels the Account Recovery so you should be fine.

Remember you can always make a new ID, you don't have to use your old one but waiting 6 days is not bad at all and you might have old photos, contacts, etc. so definitely worth the wait.

If you've started the Account Recovery then that means whatever ID you put in to start the recovery that is the ID. So if you now go back to the Account Recovery page, iforgot.apple.com, and you act as though you're starting the recovery again - don't panic, this won't restart your Account Recovery - once you put your ID back into the page then the next screen will now give you an update on when the recovery will finish. You may want to rewatch the video so this makes sense because basically once you start the recovery you get an email telling you the details but if for some reason you can't get that email because you don't have access to the email account you can still get the same information by going back to the website I discussed above and you'll get the information there.

If you've followed my steps in the video and it's still not working then that would mean the issue isn't your phone or the mail app but instead the issue is your email service provider (ESP). It would depend on who your ESP is, it's not uncommon for some companies like Comcast to have issues all the time with their email servers. All I can really tell you without more facts is go through the video again, follow the steps, and if it's not working then you'd need to wait until the issue fixes itself because the problem isn't your device. You can call Apple Support as well, hopefully they could isolate the issue with you if you're stuck.

You don't get verification via the email, you would have put in a phone number and that number will receive a text message, and that text will have the code. The email you put in is just to verify that is the ID you used.

A password reset, if done with Account Recovery, resets the phone, if you follow the steps. You need to watch the first video again, you commented on Video Part 2 so I'm hoping you didn't view Part 1 because if you do then it might make more sense on what you'll need to do. Remember, resetting the ID means you aren't going to lose anything on the phone, all your info is hopefully in the icloud so once you reset the phone and sign back in with your new ID then you'll get all your stuff back.

As long as you two aren't using the same Apple ID then that's the best start to your problem. It sounds like you aren't, because if you are using the same ID that will turn into a disaster, so I hope that's not the case. I would recommend you call Apple Support and have an advisor look at the issue with you, share screens, and let them view how your contact is saved, etc. There's just some kind of glitch, and you could start with the basics and delete the contact then add him back in. This honestly is either an easy fix or really complicated so it's best to have someone look at it with you to get a better understanding of what might be happening. The easy fix is what I mentioned, deleting then adding the contact back in, but if it's more complicated then it's because information is being shared that shouldn't, and that most likely leads to other bigger problems and there's some kind of underlying cause and that means your issue is just a symptom and not the main problem, so call Apple Support and have them take a look.

If an ID is locked to a phone you only have two options to unlock it. The first is to follow the steps in the video I gave and the other is to have your receipt, or get the receipt from where you bought it, and from there you would have to send the phone in to have it removed. However, since you say you know the password you might be missing a step or just not doing it the correct way, so at this point your best option is to contact Apple Support directly and have them help walk you through it step by step.

Honestly I would have to see that more in person to get a better feel for it. Since I can't do that obviously you might want to call Apple Support and ask them to do a screen share on your devices. It sounds like everything is fine but clearly it isn't. If you had said that it wouldn't show any email then it'd be easier to figure out the problem, but since both apps are then the issue seems to be a bit more complex. I don't think it'll be difficult to figure out, the complex part is making sure to see how the apps are recognizing the accounts and since that's not what I can see it's harder to figure out. So if a Senior Advisor at Apple Support does a screen share I think they could resolve it for you fairly quickly.

If the recovery process says 13 days then you'll have to wait that time. The number you gave to them to send the code to will come to the phone with a text and a link, click the link when you get it, you'll make a new password, and you'll get back in!

@@Redono6367Your icloud would still be working, but it sounds like you aren't signed in to your account, which is why you have to wait to reset your password.

It depends on what email you're using. That is a problem I've heard of happening with the apple email itself (the icloud email that I never used), but if it's not and instead like GMail or something else then it shouldn't be a setting but some kind of internal issue. You may want to call Apple Support to take a look because there are a number of possibilities why this might happen and a quicker resolution would be to give them a call.

It sounds like you will get the text in 4 days which is not too bad!

It sounds like you are going to get the link to unlock your phone but you will have to wait. You put in a trusted number so when it's time the text will go to the trusted phone number with a link for you to click, once you click the link it will take you to a page to reset your password. Once you reset your password type that new password into your phone with your ID and you'll get back in. You'll just have to wait unfortunately.

It sounds like it's either you didn't put in your password correctly, or your email server is down. Remember, the mail app is just an app. Email issues are 99% of the time an issue with the email server, so it depends on who your email service provider is. Isolate your issue, try signing in to the email through a computer by going to the homepage of the email service provider. If you can sign in there then you know it's not a password issue. If the same password doesn't work when signing in to the mail app you might have typed it in wrong, if you know you put it in correctly then the issue is the email server is not sharing information correctly which means it's a server issue that most likely means you don't need to do anything, it'll fix itself. The problem is just never the app itself, all it does is relay information and that's it.

You'll have to wait because you don't have access to the old number. You need to know the number which is good that you do, but since your brother never set up a 'trusted number' besides his own then there's no way to get the code. So once you guys get back in to the account and reset his password then make sure you've watched the section of the video that shows you how to add a trusted number. Remember, adding a trusted number doesn't give someone access to your account it just gives Apple another way to send a code if you need it.

If you're using the Recovery Key feature then you have to know every detail. I usually tell people not to use the Recovery Key because it's so much more difficult to get back into the account. You will have to get all the information and there's no way around it. I hope you can get back in, you might contact your previous phone carrier to see if they can tell you your old phone number, or a friend or family member who would have saved it as your contact.

I'm sorry it didn't work, make sure you always try again in case you missed a step, but if it still doesn't work you may have to get a new phone. I wish these steps worked for everyone 😪

Yeah that stinks but just remember if you follow the steps I lay out in the video you will NEVER be in this situation again, so at least that's some good news.

When you fill out the account recovery you can put in the android number, once the account recovery is done then Apple sends a text message to that number - that text has a link inside of it you click on, it takes you to a website to create the new password. So all you want is the text message and it doesn't matter if it's an iPhone or something else.

However I have a Macbook with the same Apple ID I'm trying to recover although it was locked also for security reasons. Should I click the link I receive on the Android to reset the password or should I go to the "iforgot..." website on my Mac to reset it once I recieve the text to let me know it's ready to reset?
