Basically, military schools are free barracks for the US Army where emotionally unstable young people with no prospects can be manipulated into joining the military. The school environment also makes it easy to weed out the 10% who would make good soldiers and officers and the other 10% who are completely cold-blooded psychopaths who are enthusiastic about the military because killing has no consequences. They have a good chance of joining a special unit. The downside of this is that they are either killed in the line of duty or thrown into civilian life where they can't cope because the life they have led for years follows completely different rules. Most then sell their services as mercenaries, work for terrorist organizations or end up in prison. But God forbid we try to help children with problems.

This was still during the pandemic, but I was dealing with people who didn’t want to wear masks to visit their families (this is a senior home, mind you). One day I had a guy with his daughter and brother saying they were here to move in his mother, and I told them “sure let me tell the med techs to get that door open for you. And do you guys have any masks?” I barely finished that sentence when this guy lets out “Oh are we really doing this right now?” As his daughter starts interrupting him to please stop and do it. I response firmly with “Ok, either the masks come on or no one goes inside.” He did not like that one bit, and as I reach for a walkie to give the meds a call, he starts to jabber on with “But what if we have aller-“ I had enough at that point and turn firmly to the group, with a look that clearly said “I’m NOT about to fucking repeat myself, am I?” Yeah, he shut up, clearly upset as he put the mask on with the others. After that I gave the nurses a call and told them the family was here and to open up the new resident’s room. I offered them coffee, water and hot tea before they began their move-in process, to which they thanked me and said they were heading out. Meanwhile the daughter immediately responded with it “See? Is that what you wanted?” while they left the doors. 😂😂😂

I had a roommate who's wife left him and he always made it seem like she was in the wrong. then one day he told me that because of his job he was rarely home, and a few times when he was there his wife was trying to get him into the bedroom but he was so caught up playing video games that he got annoyed and basically told her to leave him alone. if video games take priority over your wife then its definitely a red flag.

So if you really want nobody to evaluate your data, you should never use an electronic payment service again and you'll have to go shopping in a trench coat, with a big hat and sunglasses and get all your friends to do the same.

I would like to point out that Windows 10 was good. I would like to clearly contradict the statement that Windows 10 was complete crap and was so bad when it was released that despite it being persistently offered as a free upgrade and being available for free for 6 months, only a fairly modest number of users were gained. More users were only reached because it was made a prerequisite for various other things and because experts were actually put in place to fix this operating system. And today they come out with something that is just as unfinished and are trying to win users over to it and are announcing that they will end support for Windows 10 surprisingly quickly. Microsoft dominates the computer market and if Apple would finally realise that they could produce equivalent devices instead of just more expensive devices, Microsoft's market dominance would end immediately.

I've seen hints of this in some of the stories, but I will hear more gripes about AI in the coming years as people discover that it's not a complete substitution of human intellect as it is currently thought to be. It's a great automation of information processing for sure (better than anything ever used before), but there is way too much hype over this in general.

More likely, the cloud options are being picked as somewhat of a default preference, and you'd have to look elsewhere in the dialog to find where you can save locally.

12:31 I agree with everything except the SD card part - I'd like the ability to add more memory to the phone as I want without having to buy more phones. The headphone jack is probably a questionable scratch at best - I thought they were small enough to stay in the phones being made, but I could be mistaken about some technical details that may interfere with that happening. At least we have bluetooth devices.

Story 6: The pre-emptive tipping is definitely some form of power play going on. This clearly breaks a norm where that is usually done when you pay the bill as opposed to ordering.
