Start the deployment as soon as the fairing is jettisoned, allow it to defend itself before it lands. Decent defenses will have those taken care of before they can deploy on the ground, decent defenses will make it difficult to land very many still functional regardless

I had a moment like this but I had a bad rep with 2 odd factions and while I took my Corvette to go ensure a path for a supply run I was gonna do was safe I was ambushed by a destroyer and a Corvette but I was lucky my friend hopped on and used our experimental carrier and obliterated the destroyer but the Corvette ran but my ship was in brutal condition it's still being updated to prep for ambushes and my friend refuses to let me explore alone
