"Only you can save us..."
And suddenly you hear the scream that brings light to your situation.
"DON'T LET HER TAKE YOU!"
Then suddenly the dark abyss becomes clear, a greenish and reddish hue covers your surroundings. As you look towards the bottom of the abyss, a woman is seen smiling at you, with her red hair flowing throughout the abyss, almost as if she's swallowing the entire area with her presence.
"Ah...so we finally meet, my greedy vessel."
"Eris..."
You say as you look at her angrily.
"You look angry. But whatever are you angry about?"
She smiles, stretching her arms out as she floats towards you. You instinctively try to attack her, but your SM card is nowhere to be found. Her hair tangles your arms and legs as you struggle against her will. Her voice almost enticing you to give up whatever will you have left.
"I gave you all a piece of me. My essence of greed nurtured into every human being. Your ancestor Eve believed the humans could repel me eventually. We would argue for years until her death. But every iteration of her offspring failed to reject me. You see humans must be greedy. For how would we have such events that have transpired across history. World Wars, technology, social ambitions, and most importantly financial gain. For that is what compels them to live freely. What compels you to be who you are."
You can feel whatever energy thats left from your soul drain as it seeps into Eris body.
"The Ourobian water you absorbed from countless humans and beasts alike, are all apart of me. My planet, dear daughter Gaia, tried her best to shield humans away from me, working with the angels to build a structure to keep me confined. Even now the Tetragrammaton watches over this planet, keeping it from creating chaos. They even tried to use Ouroborus, my own creation, to digest and destroy my essence, using my leftovers as weapons. My son, Adam, wanted nothing more than to eradicate me, all for taking away his little toy. My partner Lucifer had the nerve to turn his back on me, after everything we discovered. You see, love is nothing but an endless cycle of pain and rejection. You understand that don't you. Your mother and even you were rejected you for what you became. And now look at you, rejecting everything that tried to accept who you are. Because you know exactly how that betrayal feels. That pain comes from me, the one who was betrayed the most. It is engrained in all of my descendants, which is why it was only a matter of time that this pain would be a gateway for my return. And now that everything is finally in play, I will have my revenge on the first being who ever betrayed me, my own creator, The Tetragrammaton. I will destroy it, and become a true universal being. Then this endless repetition will finally end. Infinity will no longer be controlled, and chaos will burst giving birth to a whole new universe. Then I will finally be recognized for what I am, my true purpose!"
Eris laughs as she sinks deeper into the green abyss,
"...And then no one will ever betray me again."
The protagonist feels the last of her energy seep out of her body as Eris takes flings the protagonist’s body away. The greenish hue of the area turns blood red, and Eris dives deeper in the abyss. Soon she was no longer visible,
Floating away, she hears the voices from outside the abyss, still fighting.
At one point, she hears one of them speak.
“...Has she really given up. Look at her, it’s like she isn’t even the same person or a human at all.
The protagonist doesn't understand what person they are referring too. Afterall she barely knew these people. And yet…
She feels a deep connection to them… something she can’t explain. She even knows the voices and their names. She speaks them softly…
“Yuuna Hiromi…Chiyo Mori…Naomi Kurami…Usagi Masumi…Ryuzen Hoshino”
She opens her eyes as turns run down her face.
“Mitsuki Arakawa…”
The memories suddenly fill in her mind. The people who call out to her, the friends she bonded with, the enemies she defeated. Almost like a second life, a second path.
“We won’t give up, we know your fighting! Don’t let her absorb you! Your soul is your own!”
The people outside the abyss continue to motivate her. She is unsure of these memories, whether to believe them or not. But one thing is for certain.
“This is my soul, my body…and i won’t let you have it Eris.”
The protagonist calmly says.
Suddenly a gateway appears within the red abyss.
The protagonist knows that in order to get her body back she must regain control. And that means reabsorbing everything back into her. What will happen after? We she have to fight the people that claim are her friends. Or will she and Eris die together, would that stop the cycle of greed? The protagonist moves towards the gate with uncertainty but remains strong in her goal.
“I will regain control.”
And so she begins moving back to Eris within the red abyss.
