The reason I named the song title "Shin Megami Tensei" is that when translated it means the reincarnation of the goddess. The entire story of PERSONA 6 VERGS comes full circle with this title, as finally the true main villain, Eris, is trying to come back to the world through the protagonist. This is the final act of the genocide route so I wanted to convey the inevitable fate that awaits the protagonist. As the absorption of shadows and her greedy personality start to physically manifest on her body, she begins to turn into a horrifying butterfly cocoon, and when fully covered, Eris will once again return, emerging from within the protagonist's lifeless body. Who left could possibly stop this from happening? It's nothing but carnage from this point onward.

VERGS stands for Slave or bondsman in Latvian. As for the story, I can try and simply it for you 👍
“5 teenagers who have extreme forms of greed are invited to a place known as the Shadow Market by its assistant Oliver. By participating in the Shadow Market you are granted extreme wealth and power, but there is a catch. Those invited to the Shadow Market must gamble their souls away as net value to fight in matches where they are pitted against each other. They use what’s called a Shadow Market Card, S.M. Card for short, to access their net value for battle and trading purposes. As they fight their net value is either lost or absorbed through each attack. If the net value of a person reaches 0 however they are considered bankrupt, reduced to ash, and carried to the unknown depths of the market, their soul now collected by the Shadow Market as collateral. These 5 teenagers come together to form a collective group called VERGS. VERGS is camouflaged as a casino company as a base. Their main goal is to offer services to struggling businesses for a certain fee or trade. How they do it does not need to be known. They will meet many people along their journey and discover many issues that even affect their lives and their friendship. Through these interactions they will meet a man named Ryuzen Hoshino, who tells them of an object known as the Apple of Ouroborus, which is said to grant any wish to anyone who takes a bite of it, currently located at the very bottom of the Shadow Market, past the multiple dimensions they must travel through, in an area known as the Shadow Realm.”
Search for the first OST to get a better understanding behind the project. The project is split in 4 OST playlists, with this playlist being more of a remix album of the normal three. Some videos have descriptions that flesh out the story more, and there’s even a wiki I made that explains more of the story and characters too. The story is still being worked on and developed so some details may be slightly changed. You may find some typos too lol.
