Can't believe you didn't do any fishing along the trip!!

Gus you have been doing a great job on the Hatteras, It takes time and money to make the needed repairs that may have been neglected by the former owner. And plus with time things needs to be replaced. If I ever buy an old Hatteras I will call you Gus to work on it. You will tell me its yours now deal with it. I really think that is the best way to go now that you own the boat learn the boat and make the repairs that needs to be done to keep it running. Been enjoying your video on the work done to the Hatteras thanks for sharing all of it. Keep on Yachting... I saw you had spent about $5,000 to get it running properly but if I may asked what did you pay for the boat? You may have mentioned it but I missed it. Oh and your girlfriend should stay with you full time unless she has a great job because she really is your partner in crime... Plus she cute too! I am seriously impressed by all the work you have done and are doing. I purchased a 1989 Pace Sportfisher in March 2023 and have been working to recondition her while operating her as well. Your mechanical ability and experience obviously gives you an advantage over many of us. I wish I had all of your experience. I have learned some techniques for working on different marine systems watching your videos. I thank you sincerely for video recording your work and experiences.

The one thing I’d say being an older fart who has seen some pretty nasty workplace injuries - don’t shortchange yourself on the protective equipment. You’ve got only one set of lungs, eyes, ears, and limbs. Protect yourself and your buddies properly and you won’t be wondering at 50 why you can’t breathe, hear, or see properly. That will seem a long way away to you at your age, but it’s coming. I feel like I was your age just yesterday...Cheers!

This is bitter sweet. I lived on my trawler on Manasota Key; not 15 miles from where your new boat fell off it’s stands during the same hurricane (Ian), but mine sank in the marina. Insurance refused to cover it so far; nearly 2 years later. I’m 75

I am not judging or telling you what to do on your boat but navigating at night requires tons of attention and most likely an able first mate to be alert, i did some crazy chit when about your age but always needed to be in control and able to avoid some accidents, that guy drunk on the couch was an liability if you had to abandon ship just saying, overall good work putting that beast of a legend Hatteras on its prime, definitively a yacht i will consider living aboard.

You're doing what we all dreamed of doing! Determination and talent allows you to achieve your dreams. At 77 I appreciate your adventures but realize they would have had to be in the past. I moved from Mystic, CT to Port Charlotte in 1997. At the time I had a 27’ Searay and cruised it to FL so many of your ports of call and cruising areas were quite familiar. I'm very curious as to how you became aware of Safe Harbor in the first place. I live 5/10 minutes from there so was very interested to see you were in the area.
