wow, I am 2301 years old and I weigh about 1000 tons - you remind me of that time I took a light speed trip around Uranus.
I'm 75 and you remind me of my younger self. I was wild and crazy and nothing bothered me. Every problem had an easy and simple solution. Every day was an adventure. Life appeared to be infinite in all ways. It was a wonderful time. And that's where you are now on your journey through life. You are a fine and talented young man. I wish you well in all you may do.
Sir, Warm regards I wish i can be like you both, i just watch such videos & admire the amount of work , time , energy & $$$ needed to get the pleasure of it. Wish all the best to him & you. thank you
All I can say is WOW. You got it going on Gus. I just turned 65 overweight with a bum knee and you just took me back to my younger days. I so wish I could go back but I can't so I'm living my days thru your videos. Keep having fun and never look back.
Never to late to make a positive change.
I'm 63 and just bought a Harley Road King. Having a blast and enjoying life even with a bum back. Get out and live it up bro
I'm 65 too but fortunately fairly healthy. My boat is a Prarie 36 that I've been fixing up so wife and I can do the Great Loop. Ya do what ya can to make a life.
Ô7
Eveready or not, same here, both knees are junk, 64, yrs old, so cool to see this guy doing this!!!!
I am 69 years old 36 years heavy equipment mechanic, worked on boats in Ft. Lauderdale I live in Lake City, Florida now if you ever get a project and need a hand I would share my experience, and knowledge. Do not expect any pay, just the fun of doing what I enjoy also enjoy doing... getting Dirty!! Great Videos you rock youngster!!!
Hats off to you
Gosh, hope he takes you up on this! Time is knowledge! I’m willing to bet you have plenty to offer! 👍👍👍
Amazing to me how someone so young can know so much about so many things.
It’s amazing to me how someone so old can know so little about anything.
That's a backhanded comment if I've ever heard of it, give the guy some credit
he listened more with his ears and talked less with his mouth, funny how that works sometimes. He's done a great job
Because he does not live on Face Book or other toxic social media crap.!!

You're the most amazing young man I have ever found. Wow!! You deserve that beauty of a boat. I'm a 66 year old lady in Cape Town who has been following you on your travels and daily life for a while now and I am still loving your video's and looking forward to see what you do in future. I have a vision of you being very successful. With your personality and skills the sky is your limit!!! I just LOVE what you do. Tx for sharing your life with us. Lots of love and blessings from South Africa.♥️🇿🇦🥂
I have no clue what kind of price you paid for that beautiful Hatteras, but as handy as you seem to be with everything, you picked a winner. The fact that it has been repowered with those 2 awesome engines makes is very valuable and then add in all the other neat things they added to it and that may be the buy of a life time. A 50' Hatteras puts you in some nice company and a step up in the boating community. They are well built with nice features and beautiful wood. I wish you the best of luck with it and safe boating!!!
Should be quite easy to break up for scrap. Sell the engines and other components for profit. Fibreglass can be cut to pieces with grinder or metal reciprocating saw.
I wish i had a friend like you 🙏🏻
My 85 yr old Dad is AMAZED at your knowledge and how hard working you are at your age!! CONGRATULATIONS!! He loves watching u!!! Thank u. Waiting for new updates!!
Dude you are amazing. A very rare breed in this day and age. You work hard for everything you have and deserve the best. With such a positive attitude and mindset you will go places and live the dream. I hope your channel blows up. There are a lot of people that loves this content and live through you. Good luck
I was on the edge of my seat, saying to the tv, yes gonna say it's been repowered, i just know it cause he's so excited. And 💥 you won the lottery! Kick ass boat! Been watch you since the beginning, you keep me planted. Keep em coming. 👊👊👍👍🤘🤘
I don't know how you do it, Gus... but your optimizum and enthusiasm can't be beat! 👏
Good luck with your new-2-u boat! 🛥
Casey's a KEEPER. 😘🙈
Old guy approves! 👍⚓️🛟
Dude your killing it. Keep the content coming. You’ll hit one mil in know time.
Welcome back, glad to see you've been living the life most of us wished we were living!
As one who has owned, upgraded, repowered a number of my own boats the past 35 plus years, you'll find there will be a never ending, endless list of projects that will continue on until the day the next owner takes over. Not to burst your bubble, but from one who spent a lot of time on a 58 ft. Hatteras Yacht Fish, I can tell you this; "nice liveaboard but that all ends if you leave the dock. Their top heavy slugs; you'll be lucky to cruise 16 knots. Last trip I recall was from Ft. Laud. to Bimini, to Chub Cay, and eventually made it to Paradise Island, Nassau. In hind sight, should have stayed at home dock at Marina Bay and limited cruising to the ICW.
It does my heart good to see a young man who has his sh*t together. Man, you don’t even know what lady, or can’t mean. Apparently, there are a lot who agree with me. You’re down to earth and haven’t a pretentious bone in your body. I look forward to your next video. I don’t have much but set up a Patreon page and I’ll support you.
Congrats! Your "tank" description is absolutely spot on, there was no shortage of "fiberglass trees" when they built her and Jack Hargrave was a genius designer.
Just looking at how thick the hull is where you found the hole, you know the old Hatts got a lot of fiberglass in them.
@@ralphholiman7401 Jack Hargrave used to test laminate samples by putting a square of the laminate on a couple of pieces of wood driving his car over them. Willis Slane (founder of Hatteras) used to shoot at them with a handgun!
That is such a beautiful boat!! You scored big time especially with the repower
Dude, just found your channel. Love that you are not afraid to just do it. I also love the water and have had boats since I was young. Your having more enjoyment than most people with 15M boats.
So happy for you! These are the dreams I had at your age but you are actually living them. A classic Hatteras!!!, She couldn't have fallen into better hands...
Its amazing how much you know Gus for ur age about fixing motors. There nothing you cant do. You should be proud of yourself,
Thanks for the update! Looks like the hurricane was a blessing in disguise. Easy on the Albin and enough to make the Hatteras affordable. Best of luck - looking forward to the journey!
Congrats Gus….my wife and I are excited and joyful for you! Keep up the great content and stay humble, young man.
You're an inspiration, young man!!! What a way to be living your life at such a young age! I wish you all the best and good fortune!
well said. He is a super smart guy for 23 years old.
Awesome Gus, can't go wrong with a Hatteras especially with a pair of 12 valves. You gotta hit me up when you're in Stuart. I want to show you all about additive manufacturing on a boat. You could be a floating custom parts store wherever you go !!
I love this guy's content.
Popcorn 🍿 ready
Thanks for the fun videos. This old NH boy (Keene) is happy to see you NH youngsters still know how to work hard and party hard. Best wishes for success on this new project.
If I was your age again, I would be doing exactly what you are doing right now. Very inspiring. I have a 1973 Bertram 42 flush deck that's my pride and joy. But, I got into that kind of boating later in life. I shouldn't have waited. But, one of the things that sold us on our boat seven years ago, was the fact that it had just been repowered with brand new Yanmar 370 hp diesels. New engines is huge.
Good deal you’re doing everything I did in the 90’s except I had a wife and 4 children along for the ride, enjoy it’s a blink in time
After seeing the hurricane damage on the boat, most people would run, and run fast. You, “this isn’t that bad, I can fix this”
You’re a beacon of hope for the Young and Intrepid go-getters. Nice job!
What a score on the Hatt.. I am excited to see what you do. You are truly living- don't change a thing!!
You really know how to tell a story and keep us interested. When I saw an hour video, I said no way I’m watching this whole thing. Here I am at midnight watching the last of it. Great job and best of luck. Happy Ours comes out of the water end of month for some much needed Hurricane repairs also. Thanks for catching us up on your escapades. Where you at now?
You two will probably pass each other on the ICW one day, or maybe stay in the same marina and have docktails? Or maybe meet in Coinjock for prime rib??
I hope 1 day your videos make sense I've watched your last 2 trips down and back Trying to watch these videos you got out and I am so lost trying to keep track
Absolutely love your channel I was iffy at first and upon watching you and seeing your hard work I appreciate you. Stay safe.
Been wondering what was going on. Your new boat looks amazing. Good for you, Gus. Great channel.
low key my favorite boating channel... this and those nordic ice sailors. dude keep it up. i grew up just outside of Hillsborough by the way.
I grew up just outside of Hillsborough also

@@Nostradumbass420 Yes indeed,
You should never pre-select from low to high, I have been driving big for 30 years, and preselecting can bend the forks on the shifter. Just take out gear and switch it to high and put in the next gear. It will become easier the more you do it
So good to see and hear from you Brother. Lots of changes and I LOVE the NEW BOAT!! Life gets us all crazy busy dude and I am just glad to see the new video my Man!! Look forward to seeing more!! Take care, be safe, and keep on keeping on Dude!!
Thank you for taking us along on your journey
Sad to see the "Tractor" go, but you now have your dreamboat - congratulations, brother!
Dude ! A Hat with 6bta’s ! What a dream boat ! Now start a refit series and get girl to help you and you’ll make bank ! 😅
I’d take the fly bridge off, you’d be surprised how nice they look without it !
That is a sweet Hat, I always liked Detroits but its more sentimental than practical. You are going to have to get after posting videos. You have like two years worth of experiences in the last 9 months. Keep up livin' the dream man.
Very cool, thx for the update! I love how you flow your life and things just come together- the Winnebago, the work, getting the boat back in the water, finding the Hatteras, it's all very cool. For a guy like you who has the skills you do, it's just perfect. I want to know how they got those Cummins engines in the boat, that must've been a costly job. Now you're going to need a working crew to man that monster on your future adventures, all the best!
Why would a crew be needed?
Great video and awesome boat its a dream boat keep us up to date..
I have had 13 boats in my life from 20ft to 46 Bertram motor yacht and 3 24 Sea Rays and now i have a 23 Sea Ray keep up the good work your beautiful
You have a lovely new project boat there . Casey and you seem to be a good fit for each other.
Glad to see you are back. Congratulations on you’re new purchase. But where is the RV.
Awesome video. Now 50 I’ve decided to say eef it all and find us a boat to do and adventure. I think you are headed in the right direction. Just wish I would have came to my sense earlier. Love your videos and look forward to seeing more. I’m sure your dad is have the time of his life adventuring with you. Cheers.
It's really good to see a young lad with so much energy and a brain. Good for you brother, I only wish I was there to help you with all your fix ups.
Dang, you bought a sweet Hattie. Looks as though they spared little expense on the repower and remodel. Have fun
Ansel is good people. I've been friends with Mike for 50 plus years. Looks like you have been hangin with the right people. have fun and be safe . Scot from Hollis NH.
Love your positive happy attitude about everything you are faced with. Even when something happens bad or goes wrong you always laugh about it instead of getting angry or bummed out knowing that you can fixed it. You are an inspiration and always fun to watch on your videos!
I had to go back and watch how and when you picked up Bella. An another amazing story everything lining up perfectly! You are living a blessed life my friend!
Glad to see you back online and with such a classic boat. Can't wait to see how you fix her up.......by the way........I can't believe you left Casey behind!!!!!! If she likes older fat guys with a boat send her my way ha ha ha.
Many times I have no Idea what you are talking about ... about all the engines and all that fixing to do but I LOVE IT!!! Is sooo awsome you can rebuild everything.... Congrats men!!! Great video
Regards from Spain...
I was just thinking about you on Sunday wondering what had happened to you and the blog seached and found nothing and figured the motor-home took its towel on you and tou were in some town some were busted broken spirt But here you are you are a legend talk about the Horse shoe Awsome guy and what a vid
Congratulations on the Hatteras…right place, at the right time…
Can’t wait to see updates and progress…
God Speed my friend…
I knew by the very happy look on your face when you started talking about the new big boat you bought that the big thing that made it a better deal is the newer engines, i hope it runs good and you have good luck with fixing it up, looks like a mansion compared to your other boat but your old boat is very nice also, it has to be something very bad for you not to be able to fix it.
I too, am well up in years, but an active hobie cat owner and sailor (inland lakes only) and a regular on the youtube circuit. What you are doing is fantastic, well worth following and I wish you fair winds and following seas as you move ahead with your growing fleet and fan club. Cheers!
Your going to be happy with this Hatteras and great cummins engines just take it slow and work on it one thing at time. I did that on my 32 Wellcraft St Tropez rebuilt the 454 engines and re upolistered helm seats cockpit seats for 5 years but i loved that boat.It i still running in Long Beach Ca i sold it 6 years ago, The same own you towed out of the marina yard thanks Joe in Long Beach Ca
You got the Golden Egg Gus. Congratulations, Looking forward to seeing her looks in the water.
This video was sweet! We’ll put together! Long and captivating! I didn’t wana look away I had no idea what was coming next!
Bella the boat cat... MORE MORE MORE! :)
Watched this whole video only looking for the cat that's in the thumbnail. Other interesting parts in vid like scraping but really just came to see cat.
Bro first off hell yeah you are absolutely right Hatteras is known for quality. I am actually in the market for Hatteras cockpit motor yacht now I've had Hatteras sportfish boats in the past and personally I believe that it's the finest boat on the face of the planet, personal opinion. I actually got excited for you on this one and I can't even express how much you lucked out with that thing being repowered already. I just got a quote to few months ago to have one repowered and it was over $200,000 so you damn sure hit a lick with that one and personally I prefer all of the wood. Can't wait to see your progress I'll be following you now.
Very cool, love it ! Nothing like an old Hatteras, can't wait to see the beautiful boat you're going to make her into. The Albin served you well, find her a good home.
I am pleasantly surprised to see someone so young balance life between having fun with being mature and adhering to responsibility. Your mechanical abilities are incredible btw. You're adventurous and an incredibly hard worker. Keep it up.
Way to go! You inspire all of us!
Bravo, Gus (Also my dog's name). I worried about the hurricane and your boat but you work hard, play hard and float to the top as a result. Great media to make us all feel good. Cheers.
You are amazing! Going to love to watch the transformation of the boat! Dito on Eveready or Knot, I am 73 and live my life through your ambitious boat action.
Awesome job! Nice the see someone who knows Detroit's!
Outstanding Gus!! What an amazing journey you have ahead of you. Very happy for you and can’t wait to join you on this next phase. Best of luck and thank you for sharing.
I’d say you have a charmed life, but you are one hard working guy!
You make your own luck.
Hatteras is one fine boat!
I’ll look forward to more of the adventures.
Enjoy life, Brother, it does not last forever!
wow! You are nothing if not a talanted mechanic & builder. I admire your drive! I don't have it...never did. Must have awsome parents! They taught you right. It's great to see your videos again. It fantastic you took care to rehome your cat. Congratulations on your new boat! Keep up the fantastic work and great videos. Oh and your girlfriend is pretty cute also!
Good to see you back Gus.....Can't wait to see all the videos of your adventures. Very inspiring.
Gus, you are an impressive young man with amazing ability, but as important an amazingly optimistic attitude that you can fix everything you come upon. You need to start a marina and sell shares in it and remember my name, Dusty Rhodes. I want to be your first investor. You could give Safe Harbor a run for its money... :) LIve and love your life. I look forward to future videos.
Bro your a rock star! What an awesome life you are living! Frickin awesome dude! I wish my life was half as exciting as yours! Keep on keeping on and I will be watching all your videos! 🤜🏻🤛🏻

Gus you should put a roof on that boat at the fly bridge, whether it is fabric or fiberglass you will love it.
Just found your channel, I freeking love it and love your ability, and energy. As a Machinist/Millwright, if I can give you MY words of wisdom, and I WANT you to remember this. If you ever see something that is CONCERNING and may happen,,,,IT WILL HAPPEN. Stay safe, totally going to follow you.
