The capacitor I believe is for sound not for running. The capacitance is too small to sustain the motor
The NCV tester only picks up AC. A lot of model railway stuff runs on DC which it doesn't detect, so it might not be usable in the way you hoped
Love your content just subscribed would fancy the screwdriver set thanks
Dan, Yes, my Bachmann Models compaired to Hornby, the majority having been purchased between 1998 to 2010 and the last new purchases around 2016, aithough prior the last 5 years were more expensive initialy. Bachmann models have had little maintenance and 99% availability, with Hornby requiring fairly periodic maintenance and repairs, with around 85% availability. However as, for the problem with traction tyres, regardess of manufacturer. I now use Marklin Traction tyres, no residue, fit them and forget them! Locomotives in my fleet have 75% better opperational performance and the first so fitted Locomotive has given over 3 years without problem, the Hornby Tyres last about 18 months on average.
Great video again, stackables look excellent
Great video I usually buy my tools from Aldi and Lidl love Rachel driver
Thanks Dan excellent video review
Hi Dan I have been a subscriber for a wee while now and on the back of your advice I got the tweezer set storage boxes and a park side battery drill excellent advice mate great videos 🚂🚂🚂
Hi .I am a bit like your self with electrics. This detector would suit me down to the ground. Keep up the good work on your channel.very interesting. Mike.
Dan Thanks for the tool reviews storage boxes really useful
I may be wrong but on the T handle rachet driver set - don't you pull the collar up and then insert the bit or the extension? I have an electric screwdriver from Aldi and it's the same. I can't see that it would be that loose - it would keep falling out!
Just moved,to Herne Bay (6months). We are still unpacking and I am itching to go and fiddle with my bits ...ha ha. Great to see inexpensive tools getting a Big up .
Like the voltage detecter
Chisels look good value
The stackable trays look brilliant
Always enjoy your Aldi & Lidl tools videos. I like to see what is out in those shops and keep an eye out for them if I a need for them. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Absolute junk.
Great to see these items, helps so much in purchasing the tweezers and hopefully I will buy the voltage stick.
Love watching your videos very handy and informative if I’m looking to purchase items
Really useful, well pre✅sented thank you
Brilliant Dan alway infos interesting a great help to me as I enjoy bringing old locos back to life. Keep up the great 44:18 work always helpful regards Sam Woodward 😊
Always enjoy your reviews, Dan, and your locomotive repairs. Some good tools to be had and value for money.
Another great video thanks for sharing Dan, I'm sticking with my old early Hornby 31's and my Airfix, Lima models, Ktf J
Dan concur with you about Hornby locos for I had a large outdoor railway in OO and I had to make sure that the coupling and connecting rods were tight on Hornby locos otherwise they would fall off. I have Battle of Britain 92 Squadron and the connecting rod came adrift on it and pole vaulted the loco off the track. I also have a Britannia which has been repaired after the valve gear on one side fell apart. Another loco repairer in Scotland has found Hornby's Chinese made locos are a nightmare on the electrical side. He says that the electrics on Hornby Locos are made far more complicated than they need to be. I've never had any problems with Bachmann locos either steam or diesel. Living in Australia I bought a class 24 online new and when it arrived one of the bogie frames was hanging off and I emailed Bachmann and they sent me free of charge a new bogie frame. I've also found Heljan in Denmark good to deal with when I bought their Lion diesel and only one bogie was powered. Both bogies are powered and the shop I bought it from suggested a "dodgy fix" but I decided to send the loco back to Heljan in Denmark. They said I took the right action for if I had done the "dodgy fix" and it hadn't worked then the warranty on the loco would have been voided. They fixed it for me and refunded the postage I paid sending it to them. There was no postage to pay for them sending Lion back to me. Hornby seems to direct people to Peter's Spares for spare parts but I think Hornby should be stocking spares not outsourcing it to a private company. Car manufacturers don't send you to an aftermarket shop to get spares for cars.
Interesting vid , those stackable organisers look very useful.
Great minds… I picked up the tweezers set, mag tray and tester a few weeks ago. Also got some nice VDE screw drivers. Great bargains. Like the storage packs. 👍
Great wee video...I have e got Parkside tools..brilliant tools
A couple of things that bug me when people do reviews is when they call everything ‘a bit of kit’ and when they say ‘does what it says on the tin’.
I enjoy your videos, could do with the stackable boxes in my modelling room. :)
Great video Dan. Those stackable boxes look really good.
first time viewer and i loved this video thank you and have subscribed
Off to Aldi tomorrow to have a butchers! 👍
I'm not surprised about the way this fella got ripped off, a friend of mine bought a diesel loco from a show and trusted the seller who said it was a runner when he got it home and tried it on the track it was a non runner this from a dealer we both knew my friend didn't get his contract number but it goes to show always see any item running wether new or second hand, never trust anyone that's the motto, at least with that site that starts with an e you've got some one in your corner, good job he had you get it running as it looked complicated to me, anyway great video again Dan Ktf J
The last wood chisels I bought, some years ago, (Stanley, if you please) were Blanks (unsharpened) so it was up to me, the customer to see to the final edge.
Great video again Dan, always enjoy your footage, the A4 looks great in that livery these old models are so easy to work on Ktf J
love the storage boxes.
i almost have all the 20V battery tools from parkside, a tool wich is from time to time hard to get is the 20V palm router they have a brushless motor, so they will perform for a longer time, cheers mate
I have full confidence in just about all their tools and have several, mainly Parkside.
Great video Dan. I would have liked to have joined in with you. I was on holiday. Keep up the great work 👍 👏
The voltage tester would be a very useful addition to any tool set even if you don't intend to do any electrical work. If could save you from accidentally drilling into a live wire.
Loving Aldi stuff, my wife works there and always brings me tools home when they get reduced. My shed is loaded.
Aldi and Lidl tools are great for the DIYer, also your reviews are informative and nice and easy to watch
First class review as normal thanks or everything
11:40 Monday a great help Dan thanks
Hi I watch your videos all the time and the storage boxes would come in handy storing all my nuts and bolts as I work on motorcycles and I keep forgetting where I put them so yeah I would love to win them. Plus you’re doing fantastic with your content 👍🏻💯percent.
Got a few parkside tools and impress me. The parkside rechargeable socket gun is incredible value. I carry it in my car now. It has never failed to break some seriously tight nuts and bolts. Whips off tops of mower flywheels and in particular scooter clutch and variator nuts negating special tools. A fraction of the price of a branded gun
Can one open the middle of the stack without unstacking the top container?
A replacement 10mm socket, a magnetic tray so it NEVER goes astray again AND a storage unit to keep it all in? Sign me up, fella!!!
Good original, simple format videos without trying to be Steven Spielberg. More please. Stackable storage organisers very useful, would keep all my machine screws, washers and nuts tidy and sorted.
The magnetic tray would be a nice amount times I needed one off those
