zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed 4 lety
We take our 1UZ Turbo LS400 to Teesside for the Shuumatsu weekender, 18-19th July 2020, and go big as always! In car, outside and trackside footage as Richard and Leon take turns to waste fuel and tyres all weekend while general mayhem ensues around them.
Wilbur's Travels - England Coast to Coast on a 1951 Ariel Square Four July 2020
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 4 lety
Join me as I ride my 1951 Ariel Square Four called Wilbur "coast to coast" from the North Sea at Redcar to the Irish Sea at St Bees, taking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Wrynose Pass, Hardknott Pass and other spectacular scenery. 300 miles and 11 hours riding in total. I was also testing the setup of a Sena 20S connected to my GoPro Hero 7 so I didn't need any wires to capture onboard ...

End of Lockdown Drift! TurboShed at Teesside 25th May 2020 :-)
zhlédnutí 2,6KPřed 4 lety
We are back on track in a socially-distanced sort of way! Good footage of us drifting TurboShed, some footage of the other cars at this closed doors event, and even some super slow-mo from me as Leon was let loose in the car by himself, so I could do more outside footage. Some nice cars there so footage of other drivers, plus Rob managing to turn his MX5 left instead of right and using the scen...
TurboShed Fan Q & A Session - How and why we built this!
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 4 lety
In this episode we take questions from our CZcams community (many thanks everyone for the questions, much appreciated!) and run through what we hope are detailed answers to their questions. TurboShed lays it bare, and if you have any questions that we didn't answer in the video please post up in the comments and we'll tackle them in another future Q&A episode! Watch the entire build summary her...
LS400 Differential solid mount and rebuild - TurboShed Part 41
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 4 lety
In this episode we fix our very leaky differential, and while we are at it, remove all the knackered rubber mounts and make our own hard/solid mount kit for it. A 10 minute job that became a bit of an epic once we got into it, particularly because we didn't have the right workshop manual and damaged it taking it apart :-(

1899 Veteran Premier Gents Bicycle - Restoration detail and first ride after many decades of storage
zhlédnutí 480Před 4 lety
Here we have an 1899 premier gents bicycle which we bought as a semi-complete machine. We have mechanically restored it to riding condition so here we introduce the bicycle, show details of note including the spiral wound tube that Premier patented, and take it for it's first ride out in several decades. It is in pretty good condition and rides well for a 121 year old machine :-) Something a bi...
LS400 Rear Mount Radiator Part 2 - TurboShed Part 40!
zhlédnutí 2,5KPřed 4 lety
In this episode we complete the epic rear mount radiator build. This involves mounting the Davis Craig EWP150 electric water pump, fabricating all the 38mm aluminium pipes to run to the front of the car and back, making and fitting the header tank system, wiring the fans and water pump into the Haltech Elite, and pressure testing the whole system before filling with water. We then vent the rear...
TurboShed Part 39 - Rear Mount Radiator Part 1/2
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 4 lety
In this episode we decide it's a good idea to move the radiator from the engine bay into the boot/trunk to allow much easier heat rejection and stop our drifting overheat issues. Easy.... well, sounds easy! This is part 1 of 2 - it has turned into an epic modification with lots of fabrication, boot floor chopping, and more, but it is coming together nicely. This episode covers the radiator remo...
TurboShed at Santa Pod Round 2 - Father vs Son Drag Race Challenge! 1UZ turbo Lexus LS400

In this episode we return to a RWYB day at Santa Pod dragway for "Father vs. Son" Round 2! We get over 20 runs down the strip, join us to see if we can beat our times/speeds from the last visit, and more importantly who had to buy dinner on the way home! We also get a head-to-head run against a Tesla Model S, how will our 30 year old home built budget two wheel drive car go against it? Watch an...
TurboShed Part 38 - Fully adjustable rear suspension arms make/fit/adjust Lexus LS400
zhlédnutí 3,4KPřed 4 lety
In this episode we make rear suspension arms to allow us to fully adjust the rear camber and toe on our Lexus LS400. We then use an adjustable spirit level, some string, and a steel rule to do the alignment of the rear wheels and dial out the camber we've had since lowering it about 3 years ago! It is a reasonably simple job to make the arms, but you need a lathe to make the bolts etc. A nice j...

    Uh ls400 in america come with simitomo big brakes on the front ...those calipers you put on are shit

    • @Concept5North
      @Concept5North Před 5 dny

      The early Euro cars have those calipers, we kept the same ones the car came with, just spaced them for bigger discs. For drifting you don't need massive braking power on the front. I agree though, for track grip racing they would not be much good.

      It would be less than stock without the turbo as we dropped the compression ratio, maybe 250hp?

    Does that head gasket make the engine non-interference? I know the early 90s ones are non-interference but i think 95+ is.

    • @Concept5North
      @Concept5North Před rokem

      The UCF10 motors are non interference with the standard gaskets, so fitting the thicker ones just gives even more clearance. The VVTi later engines are interference though.

    Hi guys, I've finally got my 1uz-fe turbo on the road, but the cambelt is making some weird chirping noises, and I can spin the idler bearing by hand with the belt on. However, the belt seems to be under enough tension elsewhere. Did you have any weird issues with cambelt tension after adding the thicker head gaskets? I replaced the idler bearings when I rebuild the engine, but I reused the hydraulic tensioner.
