- In this episode we test 20 850cc (allegedly) injectors bought from the internet for less than $10 each and flow match them on our home made injector test rig. These will be installed in our 1UZ Turbo. See the results good, bad and ugly, was it worth it?!? Can we get a matched set to put into our 1000hp build engine, turn it up to 30psi and make enormous power?

WHAT ABOUT GETTING ALL OLD ORIGINAL INJECTORS FROM SCRAPYARDS THAT COULD BE MORE LINER WITH AGE
AND DO YOU TEST WITH 20 OLD INJECTORS AND MATCH THEM ,A CHINESE INJECTOR COULD GET BAD AFTER X AMOUNT OF TIME
Great info. Just a couple questions.
I may have missed it, but would you have to account for consistency of the battery voltage during the test.
Also would the higher voltage when an engine is running make any difference as far as the flow numbers staying consistent.
Lastly, will these injectors provide predictable flow numbers ans spray patterns at higher base pressures seen with boost?
Thanks for the questions! We have to balance the amount of detail we go into with the overall video, and its a difficult challenge, we never quite know the right level and worry that we are too technical and it turns people off. We didn't mention in the video, but if you look closely you'll see the fuel pump is running off a different power supply and battery to the injectors, so we can control the injector voltage without the draw of the pump pulling the voltage down. We did some testing and yes the voltage to the injector does alter the response time, but we found its about linear so an injector that flows say more at 12v will also flow more at 14v. We did our testing at 13v injector feed, which is what we've measured the car actually gives at the injector when running and fuel pumps, fans etc are all running. Sorry for the long reply!

@@dgo9121 1001-87F90 850cc they are available all over the internet, but you'll see from our flow matching, they are not all they seem and quality is extremely variable!

Any problems with the injectors since the installation?
so far they seem okay, but we only fitted them 2 days ago in Part 36. As already mentioned, we did flow match a lot of them to get a good set though, I wouldn't just buy 8 of these and put them in a car!
