Slow Mick from Warm Tonal Touch EP by Blawan - LZX Visuals- Raul Pena
I have had this video I made around for a few years.Just me jamming with Blawan music and my LZX system. I love this song. I always wanted to do the whole Warm Tonal Touch EP with my LZX Modular System back in 2015-16 when I had it but it was just one of those things I never got around to do. All the modular gear has since gone. For people who watch Raul's World of Synths I am ALIVE. No plans for future doepfer vids at the moment. Not very likely since all the gear has gone to other musicians through Switched On Electronics and the Muffwiggler buy/sell/trade section. Love all of you for watching. I am happy you can all benefit from my moment in time with modular gear. I hope you dedicated viewers go on to inspire others and be the best people you were meant to be. Have a free dance party in the living room with my video on me.All the best. Raul

This was useful, 9 years after the making, and I subscribed to thank you.
Thank you a lot for your videos!!! <3
there are no links in the video description
I think I ran into an issue posting the links within the description. It’s funny no one noticed until now. 😂🤣😂 I went back to the forum I used for a lot of my research and do remember this one. www.modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1905216&hilit=A160#p1905216 , I cannot recall the others but that forum was chocked full of really smart people. I’m sure a few searches would turn up some good info. Thanks for watching.
man what osilloscope is that anyway ???? i really would like one for my modular that isnt the behringer brains module... its really simplistic and weak if you know what i mean.
This is a video demo from the one I used. Looks like it may have been what made me buy it. They were made in limited runs, so this long after maybe only available used. I think there was a version 2 that came out afterwards as well. Thanks for watching. czcams.com/video/XPTwMsjMYs0/video.htmlsi=h84hQUBq5_YbHg5h
@@raulsworldofsynths it fits in eurorack format ???? i got BLM oscillascope its pretty good. this one, is really cool its got both wave forms seperate. just was wondering but i got the BLM one and im good with this one.
@@HeavyDutyModularSynths yes it’s eurorack format. I used a camera to zoom in so it looks a lot bigger in the video. 😂 .
Titans for this! I just feel into the rabbit hole this weekend and this is my first filter. I did not know what to do with the cv inputs but this have me some food ideas!
how are those food ideas working out for you?
Like pulling teeth to get to the point dude. It's got blinky lights. Show us the blinky lights. Talking about synths is like dancing about architecture.
Here’s some nice blinky lights czcams.com/video/fobKhQWkkF8/video.htmlsi=jH2UUICZAfXwdCLV
so how does it sound?
What's the difference between CV1 and CV2 in of the filter? That one has an attentuator/polarizer and the other has not? Or is one meant for 0 to 10 Volt for an EG and the other for a Doepfer LFO with -2.5 to +2.5 Volt? I don't get it...
Still an excellent tutorial. Classic.
It would be interesting to hear it without the original signal blended?
5:29
so much fucking talking
Been watching your vids for a bit now, great stuff, and awesome to peruse while away from my system to confirm or get inspired to try something I didn't think of. Thanks, Raul!
I love this module. I use it for waveshaping. Audio-rate into the CV, and 2 or 3 Outs into some VCAs connected to sine waves tuned for equal octaves. I use my oscillator's "sync" jacks to keep all the osc. drift in check.
Of course the main idea is to apply voltage control so the waveform is not static.
Would like to hear the notch with no resonance.
There is no Notch demo in this video.
Thank you so much Raul for your tutorials on patching. I can’t think of another instructor/creator who does it in such an easy way to understand. I especially appreciate how you would demonstrate something and then do it again methodically with GREAT detailed information. Really made a difference for me.
I have been coming back to this video time and time again, hard to tell but looks like it covers a lot of the same sound as the AFG. Anyone test this?
dude, you are just an doepfer extremist and that's the truth
Q in electronics is for (filter) quality factor. Abstractly it's the amount of energy stored versus lost, and has a dampening effect. additionally in a resonant filter it works out that having a tall sharp peak at resonant frequency(s) means it has a narrow bandwidth and less loss, or "high Q". More Q means more energy rings through the resonant circuit. Think like a spring or a pendulum. Note, "quality" doesn't indicate it is good or an accurate representation of the input signal (fidelity).
Visual is not important at all. We enjoy in musik, and leastening. So ears are more important. I dont have to look your rewiev, which is ok, but only to leasten music
So, well, it's basically a wavefolder.
It’s a waveshaper as it says on the panel but as you can see you can control the positive and negative sides of the wave separately which gives it more control than a standard shaper/folder.
137-1?
Thanks for making all your tutorials. It was cool seeing that huge Doepfer rig!
Thanks I've got a Roland 512 vco and this really helped me understand it .
Nice going Raul
Do you have a video comparing the A-120 with A-108? Since both are Moog type ladder filters. Just wondering which one I should go with. Thank you for all yoru videos -- theya re wonderful.
Thanks for watching. I don't believe I have a comparison video. I cannot recall why I never made one. 🙃 The A-120 was my standard filter. I found I could always use it for something. As far as the A-108 , I either had that module or a similar module with the different outputs (can't recall now) which I bought second hand. I did not wind up using it as much as I thought i would.(One of the outputs had a faulty jack) I preferred a lot of the harder edge filters like the Wasp-ish , the triple resonant filter or the diode. Demos were sometimes guided by asking people to see what interest was out there. I even did a surveymonkey survey once to get requests. Once I had the list it took a while to get through the "requested" demos based on what the numbers wanted to hear.
I just found this by Zoe blade. She always did great demos. 👍czcams.com/video/01kyRgDJlG8/video.html
what scope do u use? i feel like i need one to see whats going on with my waveforms
The one in my videos is a Dave Smith O'Tool version 1. I use to have two of that module, I didn't always use both of them for every video but some demos were better with 2. There's also a version 2 of that Eurorack module. which came out in 2016(?). Thanks for watching.
@@raulsworldofsynths Dave Jones i found it thanks! its a lil bit expensive for me but it looks like one of the best ive seen so far
@@tilliinfinity They were a bit hard to come by even back then and yes expensive! Usually they were made in limited runs if that's something the module makers still do. Dave use to post on the modwigglers website , sometimes had b stock , or group buys. I imagine all the videos I did with them mad people want them more, lol. If you want to see more of the demos there's more complex demos on my other channel Modular Wild, especially the SOUNDS demos and the ones for the Morphing terrarium show some of the other modes it has.
Well made, very straightforward. This would have been useful to me in the early days of learning modular.
Thanks for watching.

thanks for good job! how to understand where is inputs and where is the outputs? im starting with modular, i have A110 vco x2; A 106 6 XP filter, Maths; A140 ADSR; A130 VCA; A131 VCA
Generally speaking they’re labeled in/out

finally understand what a slew limiter is (a cv wavesmoother that attenuates)
Doepfer should sponsor you for these
nice visuals, thanks
this is one of the best channels for modular stuff, very inspiring
great tutorials. learned much about my doepfer modules. All the best from denmark.
Calling this "Basics" would be an exaggeration as there is nothing about the use of the modules. "Reading the text on the front panels" would be more precise.
He is back!!!
thank you for this, explained well! whats the difference to an attenuverter with offset compared to this?
Raul your videos are excellent. I am pondering getting into Modular so these are very helpful to see what I want. Thanks for your hard work!
Thanks a lot to come back
Why he end
excellent sound demo, event in 2021!
Its a 9:24 video and we don't hear a filter until 6:46.
Here I am, years later checking this out again as Doepfer now makes a mini version of this filter and I intend to use four (4! 🙀) of them in my new poly system!
Awesome music!
Wouldn't a NOT continuously sounding sequence be more appropriate for demonstrating a reverb device? ...so that the pure reverb sound sometimes could be heard?
Understood hard sync, did not understand soft sync. Explanation seemed a bit vague and something about the slave trying to stay "harmonically related". Not really sure what that meant, Does it run/track at 2X the frequency of the master? 3X 4X? adjustable? Anyhow did not follow what it was doing.
