      I'm the most sceptical person in the world,so you can believe me when I say that SimpleDyno DOES work, and it is mathematicaly correct.I have spent close to a hundred hours looking for faults.I look to sell my dynos on an open market,with reference to this software.That's why I needed to know if the software was worthy or not.Although I use a more elaborate setup for signal processing ,I have come to the conclusion that,provided your RPM signal is clean,stable, and all the parameters are properly set,SimpleDyno results will reflect true,real world data in a consistant manner.Using the correct roller inertia for any given vehicle is also important. You can check out my videos,and see for yourself.

    Can i get a list of things you used for this. I wasn't able to clearly take note of the things since your voice was vibrating much..also i noticed that there is like a silicon like circle near the axle..what wast that

    • @DamoRC1
      @DamoRC1 Před 10 lety

      For this basic setup I used a motor, switch and battery as the dyno. I used 3 CDs epoxied together as the flywheel. I inserted a small, reasonably powerful magnet into the flywheel. I used a set of stereo headphones for the sensor. The dark circle you see is just electrical tape that I used as part of creating a mount for the flywheel to attach to the motor.

  • @DamoRC1
    @DamoRC1 Před 10 lety

    The graphs and gauges are configurable to whatever range you need. Yes, the software will handle 35K RPM. But if you are thinking of building a flywheel dyno for a nitro engine, you won't be making the flywheel out of plastic and you will probably need to use a one-way bearing so that the flywheel doesn't drive the engine on run down. Look at the X-Dyno setup for more ideas on the hardware required.

  • @DamoRC1
    @DamoRC1 Před 10 lety

    In this prototype I used plastic or PVC drain pipe. OD 60 mm, ID 50 mm (or 5mm wall thickness and approx 150mm length. However you should construct your roller to match the vehicle or motor your are going to test. The diameters and mass should give a moment of inertia that is appropriate for your vehicle. The software (new version 6.3 just released) can help you with this.

Software is simply a matter of checking that your computer is runing the current .NET framework (4) (there is a tool on the website that tells you what version you have=. Then just download the version 5 ZIP file and run. If you are having problems at this stage, just post a question to the forum and I will do the best I can to help you get it working. DamoRC
