Yep - the Elite and Platinum series are all basically the same so you can perform the same upgrades on each of the three variations.
The Masters series mount the motors a little differently so a 370 sized motor like the VR3 will not fit without some additional "hacking"

The stock car can.
The version in the video can't because I put in a single external FET which only allows it to go forward.
If you go to the forum site linked in "more info" you can see the tutorial to build a forward / reverse version using external FETs.
