Welcome to Two Wheeled Adventures UK - we are a channel dedicated to promoting all things to do with adventure motorbikes and adventure bike travel in the UK. We aim to bring you stimulating content which will allow you to get out on your bike and ride the best places, and importantly, get off-road and find the ultimate UK adventure.
We will be riding many of the byways and green lanes in England and Wales, as well as the TET (Trans Euro Trail), and our great roads in the UK from Ipswich to Inverness, Southern Cornwall to Snowdonia. Along the way we'll be camping and sometimes wild camping from our bikes, because we believe true motorbike adventures happen outdoors, not in a hotel!

I watched that and thought 'hmm I crashed there, oh yeah there too and there' lol I'm a noob. Nice video.
We must of just missed each other! I was out doing the pedders way on Saturday on my 1200 Scrambler. I'll have to give this a go next time. Love these videos, and borrowing your GPX's for inspiration. Keep it sunny side up mate!
Was that you at the tank memorial on Friday? I was there with my world raid and met up with my old mate Bob for a chat. I'd ridden from Lincoln and he from Witham in Essex. Was going to come over and say hello but you were off pretty quickly.Must have been you as I recognise the gucci kit. Planning to do some of your routes soon👍
@@NK-dl2nc yes it was, I was in a rush to get to the campsite on time - last time I passed on my bike the tank wasn’t there so had to get a pic 👍
Another fabulous video. Can you tell me where that lake is at 29:40? Thank you.
Great review, I’ve actually bought one.. do you mind telling me where you got the Union Jack stickers from for the rear panels…
Great drone work Mike. A Ceet Concepts seat? Have you won the lottery?😂😂😂
@@davidrodenhurst3299 it was 380, I did bid on a used Yam rally seat that went for 240, I bid 180, new ones are 360, so I thought after that the SC seat was cheap. I can’t ride the bike long on the road, 3 hrs sitting down and I’m in agony, hopefully gonna go down for the adventure bike show in September so needed to do something 👍
Thanks for sharing another great route, will definitley be trying this one 👍
I see what you were saying about it being a little overgrown mate 😂😂 As always a great video. Have you been tempted to try any of the Kove offerings ie the 800x Pro or the 450? I think you would be able to give a really good well informed review against the Tenere and CRF450L and let us know if the Chinese hype is for real. Best regards Si
Brilliant video and some fantastic scenery on that route. Quick question......I loaded the gpx into OS Maps but it shows as a pink line which is really difficult to follow. Anyone know if the colour/style can be changed?
@@reginaldcrudstump383 in the app open the route and then click on edit and then top right corner should be 3 dots, click on that then I think it says line style, then you can pick the colour you want, thickness and opacity level
I am local to the area and just got myself a crf300l so thanks for the video and will be hitting these trails soon
Nice little ride through the Suffolk/ Norfolk countryside all that you miss riding a road bike it’s beautiful when your properly into the countryside I use to run and mountain bike round the fields and country footpaths in Essex where I live near frinton on sea so nice in the evenings and weekends when the miggets not about I only ride a motorbike on the tarmac it’s definitely not a off-road bike take care ride safe mate
Really good ride out Mike. Thanks for that and it’s always a joy to see your vids. Have you done much on/to the CRF this summer?
@@steveinskip4897 was out all winter/spring on the 450 with the TRF, hoping to go to wales next month and might take it down to the Adventure Bike Show in September, do some lanes down there. My sparing partner has had a bad ankle so been doing more on the T7 👍
Another great ride I'm hopefully going there in a week to try some of your routes.
1) You don't need to tighten the valve nut down on the rim. I was taught to leave it loose so that it tilts if the tyre moves on the rim, potentially pulling the tube round and ripping the valve out of the tube. 2) When removing the tyre you should begin at the valve, so that the bead on the opposite side can go as far as possible into the rim well without being obstructed by the reinforced part of the tube around the valve. 3) When replacing the tyre, finish at the valve, again because, at the tightest point, the opposite bead will be as far as possible into the well.
I enjoyed that, thanks for sharing it. Oh and as for those Leatt knee protectors, I have a pair which I’ve been using about a year now and they are great. They’re really comfortable and you can’t even tell that you are wearing them which just proves how comfortable they are 👍
Great video. Feel a little more motivated to try the green lanes
Thanks Mike a great little trip and a lovely video.
That lad can’t carry any speed or momentum if he’s got his legs hanging off the side of the bike. He needs to get his feet on the pegs so he can be in proper control.
He knows that but having the confidence to stand up when you're a beginner takes time and practice - by the end of day 2 he was riding brilliantly and getting over some very tricky ground
Superb Video. Just hit the Subscribe button. Loved the videos. Don't normally watch tube vid's end to end so well done the pair of you for keeping me hooked. Loving the look of the Tenere 700 I used to ride the 1200 but found it very cumbersome on the lanes. Didn't help me being a 12 stone wet lettuce but there you go. Keep the vid's coming as I for one will be keeping a close eye on your adventures. All the best Raymond. (The Wandering Walton)
@@Japstitube very kind comments Raymond - thank you 🙏
I really enjoyed that. Having ridden in the Lakes quite a bit it was nice to see a different take on the lanes that I love so much. Not ventured into the rough yet with the R9T Scrambler as its shod with 90/10 road tyres. However after watching you both it's going to be TKC 70 front & TKC 70 ROCK on the rear now.... Thank you for helping make my mind up. Looking forward to Part 2 Cheers Mucka. Ride well & Stay Safe 🙂
At 54 I love bikes, camping , cycling, sports , DIY , and everything strenuous, uncomfortable and a bit weird for this age... Nevertheless 3 things have become non negotiable (that is how it starts becoming wussies :-) ) 1. large (80cm) sleeping pad 2. a square sleeping bag (no mummies bag after one full day of cycling) and 3. a tent one can stand in (especially with motorbikes where getting dressed is a bit of yoga) Wish you all unforgettable trips!!!! and thanks for the GREAT video!
Does the bike ride okay with the narrower tyre ?
@@Fraserkins you would notice the difference, it’s only 10mm narrower - I’ve done about 1000 miles on that tyre now, 5 hr runs up the motorway, a coast to coast trip on technical terrain and it was awesome. Obviously wears faster than some other tyres but they don’t give you the grip
To help break the bead, keep riding with the puncture till the bead breaks. If I get a puncture I put a new tube in.
How do I get the Gpx route I have been riding Essex for many years It would make a change to do your route Thank you for the route

@@m4cker1 it’s the OS map app on IPhone, brilliant app - I do a vlog on comparing it to a Zumo xt and I explain more why I like that app.
My two lads and I are lucky enough to have these lanes in our back yard we run them regularly each way I run a 990 R, that first section on the coach road is a little rough at first but once up that section the lane is ace.. as stated hit it at speed standing up and keep that momentum going and you’ll manage no bother…

I absolutely love our teepee tent! As we travel as a couple we use the Wickiup 4. It's big and it's only 2.5 KG, which is incredible for such a huge tent :) We have had heavy rains, strong winds and it holds up no problem. The loop at the top on our tent we use to attach the tarp if needed, other than that it could be used to hang the tent up in a forrest and it could be pitched without a pole. I have to say that the Wickiup tents are not cheap and I was looking out for a used one for a very long time ;) Reduce-Reuse-Recycle :D Enjoy your trips with the new tent! ☘Diana
@@talesfromthebike had the wickiup 4 on my eBay watch list for about 2 years and not had a sniff, very impressed with the Onetigris so far tho, nice tent 👍
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 that is approximately the time I had it in my watchlist on the German eBay site as well, and one day it popped up and I did not hesitate 😂 unfortunately the onetigres was too small for us. I think I checked all alternative options including the Pomoly Stovehut. (Without the stove 😂) Looked great too but again too small 🫣
Awesome, may have to have a pop at this
Are you in Thetford, brondon forest mate
What right now? No...
Well, not a bike rider so keep that in mind and ignore me if desired 😂 When I backpack (50% of my camping), the things I care about (in decreasing order of importance): weight, quality, pack size, interior size (tbh, this is really just headroom when laid down: I'm 6'2", no backpacking tent is ever gonna be a palace for me) and lastly materials. For car camping, if it fits in the car then jobs a good 'un. One of our car camping tents (yes, I own multiple tents, I have a problem) weighs 25kg and my wife can get in the bag for it lol.
You'd be surprised how good a mid is in bad weather, too. I've a similar tent (alpkit tarpstar) and been in it in fairly high winds and it was stable as owt. And no guys.
@@shabingly Yeah if I had the money I'd get a Back Wickiup 4, they are meant to be bombproof in bad weather. Weight used to be more important but there is a limit - you could take a really light bivvy bag, 500g, dead easy to set up, beat any wind, but they are utterly useless in bad weather and rain when you need to cook, or charge your GoPros and nav devices etc etc etc. I have a Vango Helium 2, great 2 man tent, even better for 1, only 1.4kg, packs down tiny, excellent quality, but shite to live in and do stuff if it's pissing it down - and If I get to a camp site say at 5pm and its raining I don't want to spend the rest of the evening laying down to do stuff, much sooner be in a chair, reading the news, cooking, eating, relaxing... I do have quite a few tents, for various scenarios, and tents are like shoes, no one pair suits all occasions!
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 thankfully I don't have the personality for CZcams so I don't have to lug about filming gear etc, and tend to be so knackered after walking I'm tent-bound as soon as it's pitched anyway 😂 Have a gander at a liteway scout: it's basically a golite shangrila (they went out of business, people swore by em so someone asked the owner of liteway if they could replicate it). In silpoly, deffo not 900 quid 😂 I keep thinking about it in Ultra, but it's pole-height would mean either strapping two hiking poles together or carrying a carbon pole (and losing height adjustability). I have an liteway illusion solo I absolutely love when out on my tod, pretty much use that all the time now.
@@shabingly I’m not doing much on foot these days, just sold my MSR Access 1, lord knows how used to survive in that with the dog in winter on the mountain. Don’t think liteway are available in the UK
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 yeah I can imagine that was a tight fit. I nearly got one of those and decided I didn't really need a 4th season tent. Liteway do ship to over here, can't remember what I paid in postage. Small firm though, you can't buy em at a retailer. Actually, if anyone reading this is tempted: as of 2024 they suggest us UK folk pay in UKR Hryvnia, as there's potential your UK bank charges you to convert to Euro and then again to convert to HRV even if you tell their store to charge Euro only. I honestly have nowt bad to say about em tbh, had several emails chats with the guy who owns it. Seems a genuinely nice dude. Quality product, too.
An overnighter is a far cry from the 6-week camping trip in the EU I have just completed. Shit; I was overloaded, must admit.
