- This was a proper adventure over 2 days, a perfect weekend of riding on the glorious lanes of Northern England.
The route takes in parts of the Trans Euro Trail (TET) in Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales as well as parts as the Trans Northern Trail (TNT) which is across Cumbria, the Dales and Yorkshire Moors - all worth a luck for other adventures

I think when you are riding a bike, everywhere takes on another dimension that if you were in a car, or even walking. Stunningly gorgeous video... 😂😂
Really appreciate you adding the gpx file. Sharing is caring! Putting this route on my todo list ❤
What a fantastic route
Great video Mike, enjoyed watching.
So pleased I found this. Awesome scenery, great riding and some good old tough coaching. Shaun will thank you at the end because what he learns from you here will stand him in good stead for the future. He has done really well if he’s a relative newbie to green lanes. Great video.
He was very pleased with himself by the end, and so he should have been, he made a massive improvement in just a couple of days👍
Wow, that was a bloody brilliant watch!..great scenery, bikes, and so well edited and put together..hats off to you mate, excellent that! 👏🏼..will have a look through your other stuff too, atb, Mark
23:34 The road is impressive. I want to go on that path
I can remember when salter fell wasn’t the gravel motorway it is now, used to be very muddy and boggy. When the then Prince Charles used to go shooting grouse up there at abeystead, they would spend plenty of the dutchy’s estate money on stoning the track up. There is a Lancaster bomber somewhere up there on the fell that came down and crashed too.
As Sean is new to biking this will do him the world of good. I can remember coming off mid way in a puddle is was that deep me and the bike was totally submerged 😂😂funy as fk
Yeah he did really well, didn't want to stand up at first, wanted his stabilisers out, but he stuck with it and by the end he was a different rider. There are just some things you can't buy down the bike shop, you have to acquire them by sweat and hard graft
9:57 - I have ride this one couple of months ago, its much steeper than video shows and those big stones doesn't help. He was to slow :D, this is good fun.
Shaun knows what he’s doing wrong, just needs a bit more confidence, he was way better on the second day
Great weekend and was definitely out of my comfort zone for a good portion … Mike knows his sh.t however and without somebody I a) trust b) respect I wouldn’t have pushed myself, cheers Ted , look fwd to my next invite!
Mate your confidence by the end was huge, and doing it on your big bike took balls. Maybe a more relaxed trip into Norfolk next with more cake and coffee stops!
There won’t be many Desert X been up there pal, no Starbucks, canny job 👍
Great trip love that area. What Uswe back pack are you using. I’ve been looking at there raw 12
It's a Hajker 24 - it's been great, very comfortable and waterproof. Also use it for a bit of hiking
Give the one piece rally seat a go. I did 350 miles on my bike one day and was super comfy.
Seat concepts make a huge difference plus the other thing I use if the weather is hot or wet is add a cool covers onto it - great part 1 - shall look forward to the next instalment. Way better then spending a fortune getting into ABR and riding around the grass and the bog of doom with the masses at 15mph
Am gonna order a SC seat when a get a moment to call them - wouldn’t be seen dead with one of those cool covers, my mate has one on his desert x and raves about it, but the ‘cool’ motocrosser in me (subjective…) just says they make you look like an old man (I am an old man…) and a wannabe GS riding tourer!…🤷🏼♂️🤓😇
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 tbf I thought that until I tried one in really hot weather - made a big difference at Hellas this year in 35 degree heat tho - balls didn't cook 😁
@@robgreaves2633 😆🤣😂
Great vid, where was the second campsite?
About a mile up the river from Litton - they have no contact details tho as far as I'm aware, maybe ask at the pub
Nice vid Mike beautiful views. Let me know how you get on with the Seat Concepts Seat. Just back from Germany riding in the Black Forrest which was awesome while standing up but the road work to and from Hook of Holland was a bit painful on thy bot bot by the end of each day. Looking forward to part 2 bud.
Yeah I was in agony after the ride home👍🤷♂️
Been trying to find out if its actually legal or not to ride standing up on pegs as this is a nice rest for your butt... seems to be a bit of a grey area ???
@@bosscat8951 I think it’s ok to stand, I’m sure I read that somewhere
Any news on day two video and gpx yet cheers phil
Hopefully have the vid out Friday, GPX I haven’t had time to edit yet as we missed some bits out because the lanes were overgrown or we didn’t have time for them
Im guessing Shaun wont be coming out with you again.Do a Video where you ride with some one who has more skills than you. That would be good.
Stand up and get your feet up instead of hanging them off like you are on a kids no pedal balance bike.
He knows that, buts it’s having the confidence to stand up, not easy for a beginner
