    Bell MX9 Adventure helmet review
The Bell MX9 Adventure turned out to be a bit of a revelation, it performed brilliantly on the trail, vented well and was super comfortable - I liked it a lot! Time will tell tho, need to test it in the rain.
We rode on the classic Thetford loop starting in Larling, Norfolk

Brilliant. You’ve just saved me many hours solving helmet/glasses conundrum. Quick vid on mounting your bike on the trailer would be good when you have time/can be arsed. Happy New Year.

Hi Mike. Interesting vid and I thought I’d wade into the discussion. So, I ride a CRF450L and a Morini Corsaro 1200 Veloce, both quite different but quite focused bikes, and I wanted a helmet suitable for both bikes, so a few months ago I bought an Arai Tour X4. This helmet accepts glasses very well and I checked out my latest pair of specs for compatibility at the optician complete with my helmet before I bought them to see if the wings were strong enough. The glasses are vari-focal with reactolite lenses. I don’t wear goggles. Normally I ride off-road with the visor open and on road with it closed. Rode back from Avignon to Albi last October in pouring rain late one evening ranging from sea level to over a 1500m mountain range, all vents were open, and misting wasn’t a problem in the rain. Previously I had a HJC road and a Held off-road helmet both which were very difficult to wear with glasses.
I’ll be testing it out in the very cold conditions here shortly and will give you an update on that.
    Cheers Steve

A great video, was that route called Peddars Way? In either case would you be able to provide a GPX route of it if I contact you via email?
I’ve used the Bell MX9 for about a year now, I bought mine from Sportsbike Shop in a sale for a staggering £80 which included next day delivery via DPD, an absolute bargain. Regarding goggles for glasses wearers, there are specifically designed goggles for us folk who need glasses to see where we are going, I have a pair of Leatt goggles and how they differ is there is a very discreet cut out in the foam of the goggles to accommodate the arm of the glasses which prevents the arm from being pushed against the side of your face which could cause discomfort. You’ve got some interesting videos on your channel so I have subscribed. All the best for 2024. 👍

It’s essentially the Thetford loop which is on my channel, the closed section I talk about is open now tho so even more miles of smiles. Thanks for the comments, appreciate it 👍

Enjoyed watching Mike, I’m trying the LS2 Explorer Adventure helmet as I wear spectacles too which is meant to accommodate spectacles. To be fair I haven’t worn it too often so the verdict is still out. Just to change tack I’m thinking of maybe getting one of them AS faring/ screens for my 690 as they now make one specifically for the Orange, White and Red machines. How do you rate it?

I love mine mate, much prefer my phone high and central for navigation, much safer as not taking your eyes too far from the road. Also a good place to put a usb power socket and I also have a switch for that on mine. I’ve also made a little perspex screen for my mini fairing which just ads to the protection from the wind etc. so an absolute must from me and about £1700 cheaper than a Rebel X rally kit!

Great review 👍, been looking at the MX9 and wondered about wearing glasses & goggles with it, also are the goggles you use designed to wear over glasses?

No idea if they even do specific goggles for glasses wearers?... These are just regular off the shelf ones, most modern, decent branded goggles I've tried work with glasses

@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 look for OTG goggles - stands for Over The Glasses, most brands have a selection. They fit and seal better around the arms. I tend not to wear goggles as they fog up, I got prescription dust glasses instead that work well.

None of the events I tend to do are open for entries yet, not sure what I am gonna do this year actually - maybe more of the same or maybe a big trip to Spain or the Pyrenees etc. The Sweet Lamb Baja Rally is a good starter event, it is a race essentially but you don't have to race, well you don't have to race in any event I guess. Do you ride with your local TRF? Defo worth hooking up with them, someone wishing the group must be doing events. What sort of thing are you hoping to do?

@@twowheeladventure8731 the Ryedale rally wasn’t on last year, they had issues with the Forestry Commission I think and the events calendar for this years Brit Rally Champs hasn’t been released yet
