    • @Brekkeb
      @Brekkeb Před měsícem

      No. If you put them in a pillowcase it buffers against rubbing. Also, you're only putting them in for the spin cycle. This means that they're only pressed back by centrifugal forces, not bashed about like they would be in a dryer or even a washing cycle. For those who do put them in for a full cycle, they will put them in with a bunch of towels to act as a buffer.

    • @Brekkeb
      @Brekkeb Před 11 měsíci

      You may have got a factory fluke. I've seen the fabric used inside out so the signature is inside the kid. :) I"d need to see a picture to really tell. As for cornsilk hair, there's a variety of options. If you really want to clean it, you can use regular shampoo and conditioner. If you just want to brush it I recommend a child's hair detangler that you spray on. Other's use fabric softener. A steamer will smooth the hair and get rid of the frizzes.

      I've found it available in a number of laundry aisles and online at places like Walmart recently.

    I also don’t think it’s mold because I would most likely have an asthma attack when near a pox baby lol. I was gifted a BBB for Christmas last year by my aunt. he’s from the SS factory and has the circles with the smaller dots inside in random spots on his head. They’re pretty light in color. I love him a lot despite the pox :) I wish there was more concrete information on the pox because it can be really confusing. This video did help ease my worries of it being harmful though.

      Yes, I have a few kids with pox and love them very much. Sometimes it just doesn't matter. Your comment about asthma is very interesting and another good point against the mold argument! Thank you for making it.

      That's a very good question! I haven't had to buy it in years, the bar lasts forever. When I did, I bought it at a littte small-town hardware store that sells everything under the sun. It was hard to find now you mention it. A quick search had it coming up at Walmart and Home Hardware here in Canada. Not sure about the US or other locations though. If you have something similar in your area, feel free to give that a try too! Just do spot tests first to make sure it doesn't damage things.

    Have you ever washed a Hasbro first addition posable kid? Those have built in wires how would you wash a kid like that?

    • @Brekkeb
      @Brekkeb Před 2 lety

      I have. I did the exact same thing but made sure she was very dry, very quick. I waited until it was really warm outside and I could use sunshine to dry her off quickly. She seems to be fine. It's been about 2 years since I washed her. Having said that, I haven't taken her apart to see what the metal rods look like either!

    What is the pox called that you called Spot? It was on the second dolls head that you showed in this video? This is the kind the kid I just bought has. Do you know how to treat that particular kind?

    • @Brekkeb
      @Brekkeb Před 2 lety

      It's just a varient of the regular pox. It would reqiure the same treatment with the zit cream. However, as with any kid, test the treatment on a small out of the spot way first to see how the vinyl on that particular kid going to react to it first. Also, keep in mind it doesn't always work. Sometimes it works amazingly well, other times it doesn't touch it. Each kid and vinyl mixture seems to react a little differently.

    Does anyone know if kids can “catch” pox from one another? If it’s vinyl degradation then no, but if it is a microorganism then it may be possible right? Anyone have dolls that have “caught” it?

    • @Brekkeb
      @Brekkeb Před 2 lety

      I've never had one 'catch' pox from another doll. Dolls stored together under the same conditions can be seen to develop them together, but that's because the conditions are right for the environment to accelerate the vinyl degredation. However, I don't believe pox is a microrganism either so I'm biased. You need to decide what you believe. :) Maybe others will help you by answering.

    • @Brekkeb
      @Brekkeb Před 2 lety

      Take her to the craft store and find the closest matching embroidery thread. If you're doing a specific kid, that will be the easiest way to do it.
