May last bike was a Bandit 1200, there is no such thing as a "soft start" on that monster unless you are feathering the clutch. Also, you went higher than "high" mode. You went to the unheard of "hige" mode. Be careful in "hige" mode. I did something similar to my cheap but nice 500w commuter bike. The bike was hard locked at 32km/h so I ordered an unlocked display from China. I had to order a 7 pin sm connector instead of the normal 5 pin barrel connector because it has an integrated horn/light. So I took the custom 7 pin barrel plug and cut it off the old display spliced the wires to the new display and was getting around 35km/h right away. I then sold my old battery for $200 and bought a 52v battery battery for $400 shipped. Now I run at 37-39km/h depending on terrain. So for $227 I got a 14.5-18% increase in speed. Not mind numbing, but this is my first e-bike and I'm using it as a test bed. What's holding it back is the controller, it's integrated though and I don't feel like redoing the wiring harness for maybe another 3 or 4 km/h. I'm a computer tech by trade so I like to overclock or break stuff. Cheers. Good job.

Things are only fun if you can burn out your motor or brick a controller unit. No disclaimer required. You could also go say 75 mph(120kph) for extended periods just to reduce the amperage a bit to give you a margin of error.

Have you any insight to temperatures with the sports mode timeout removed? Im looking to remove the two minute limit but not for sustained +65mph riding but for the quicker acceleration and more power for hills. My bike has trouble maintaining anything over 50mph with a >10°.

Can you explain how you wired up the bluetooth version of the controller? Looks like there are 4 wires on that... red, blue, black and yellow...?
