I think the big problem overall is the price of the one ring. Control for sure gets worse without the ring but plenty of other decks are just playing it because its so good. In either case i truly dont know what to do with it. Either find a way to reprint it or just have it not exist

@Bluestomiv probably. For what its worth im all for getting rid of the reserve list. Honestly any card should be able to get a reprint if deemed necessary.

Yea they let things go for too long. Honestly crazy to see people wanting to wait to see how the meta will adjust to a near tier 0 format

Creators shouldn't have that much influence over the game I understand competition players but not creators most of them have bad reasons for wanting cards banned plus most of them just repeat the most current/popular/ opinion or the newest card combo etc it's all just for views so terrible takes and popular/unpopular opinions and whatever the hot topic is just gets repeated when nadu got spoiled everyone started making videos of this card is broken, wizards made a mistake, how to go infinite, nadu decklists, should nadu be banned? And finally, we should ban nadu no original thought or opinion just like every broken card before once the next one comes out people will get bored and move on nadu should be restricted in modern not banned and allow for the meta evolve

Nadu is absolutely insane. It was a known deck going into the PT and it still dominated. More than even hogaak in the PT it was legal for. Nadu is by far the best thing to do in paper modern and the only thing stopping it online is the fact the combo that you want to do takes a lot of game actions so you cant really short cut it. Pro players are even asking for it to get banned. If you want to try and let the meta adapt then sure go for it. But chances are nadu wont make it to august (it shouldn’t)

@@omartoro9578 restrictions don’t really happen in modern but I can agree maybe not creators. I think if you run one people will start playing creature search effects like eladamris call not to mention summoners pact is still perfectly legal I think this is an all or nothing issue.

I don’t doubt it! Thats kinda why i put the disclaimer in before getting into the different decks. I def prioritize format knowledge with whatever deck you decide to play over playing the best deck in the format

Basically how i felt about it. I could see builds maybe leaning toward more midrange but at that point you are probably better off just playing rakdos vamps

Absolutely. I cant foresee any option other than just banning the bird and calling it a day so the other decks in the format can have fun and spread their wings (no pun intended)

​@@crawdaddy2312it's such an exciting new format and way too early for a tier zero deck to stifle creativity. I don't know how the hell you make a top 4 with Pardee, Nielsen and Kassis boring but they found a way.

RIGHT?? Dont get me wrong, i feel like there were some exciting moments but they were ruined by being from a deck that as the opp you have to hope they get incredibly unlucky. Would’ve loved to see any one of them playing something like necro or one of the energy based midrange decks

​@@crawdaddy2312sadly it's for the best that Javier got absurdly unlucky as well as misplaying. Had he won the tournament (which I think he was well positioned to do) I think there might have been a bit more lag dealing with Nadu.

@infjdub for sure. Javier probably had the best deck for the best deck and had he played a little tighter in some spots and gotten a hair luckier it would not have been close. Overall that match was a lot sloppier from both sides at times than i would’ve liked to see from a former world champion vs one of the most dominant players from the last 2 years

They more than likely wait to see if the meta can adapt. Hopefully maybe it can and it just like hogaak where the meta adapting was the hogaak decks playing main deck leyline to beat the mirror

For sure this PT was a slog to watch after the QF. Even the non nadu decks just looked bad (minus the first two games from jeskai). Hoping for changes swiftly🤞

@@crawdaddy2312 I don’t think it’s tier 2 actually. I think it just ran face first into a field of hate. Kinda of a when dredge is good it’s not good sort of thing

@astarte768 it will probably suffer the same fate as deaths shadow back in the day. Good when no ones prepared for it and bad when they are.

@GhosTeaLoL hard to say if and when nadu will get banned. I know WOTC usually likes to wait and see if the meta game adapts to it. I will say if money was no object i would without a doubt be playing nadu. It has more than proved it is the best deck right now and maybe in consideration for one of the best decks of all time if it can close out the PT with a win.

Has to feel pretty bad playing removal and sometimes it just doesn’t matter. Plus with this deck having different loops that aren’t very intuitive unless you’ve seen this deck do its thing (and remember how they do it) then it just goes from really bad to way worse

Thassa’s oracle doesn’t seem like its going to be a part of the deck going forward (or at least it shouldnt based on the lists at the PT) Nadu would probably get the axe well before that card does

If i had to ban something from the deck and it not be amalia or walker then it would maybe be chord? Force them to use CoCo if they want to try and win at instant speed? But then again i really just enjoy chord of calling as a card so in any event that something from this deck ill be a pretty sad boy

Idk if i like capping a match to 3 games no matter what only for the fact that for this deck in particular you could force 2 draws and a win in some combo and give your opp no chance of winning if they go down a game and draw another. Idk if there is a real fix for it other than making pump/protection spells worthless. But who knows if it even really comes up in even a majority of MU’s if the game can end in a draw outside of the amalia player causing it

What deck are you taking?

Theres a reason mono G fell off hard after karn was banned. Really the fact that a card that is basically free to add to the deck and makes MU’s that are potentially bad into 50/50’s. Ill agree karn gets worse without an infinite combo, but they could also just win by playing really big dudes and getting a card from the board with karn that makes it a lot harder to interact with their board is probably not something you should have in the format
