I love Ghost. I don't necessarily consider them "metal", although metal is so broad I can't really fully argue against them being classified as metal either. Ultimately, it's down to: I like their songs, so I don't really give a shit if the metal community approves. I also love pop music. Come at me, bro, hahaha.

Type O are one of my favourite bands so absolutely gonna dive into this band. Vocals sounds a bit like Moonspells clean parts too and thats a good thing.

Lotta good doomy gothicky stoney hard rock NWOTHMy power stuff coming out lately. A welcome respite from the relentless barrage of extreme bands this year. The problem being that the extreme stuff has been slaying, so theres been a LOT to listen to. You gotta subscribe to a dozen channels to build a complete overview. As Blayne would agree, we need these lovely palette cleansers.

I’d say Metallica forgot the fans that got them started that loved them and their thrash albums in the beginning, they love money and they know that they can put out anything and enough money will flow, they talk the talk, James wears the gear but they don’t walk the Metallica metal thrash they loved ,they can’t seem to shake the completely out of the box experimental load infused stuff, I tried to like 72 seasons but after eating the steak of their 80’s greatness, i’m not eating their newest baloney , I left it cold, i liked spit out the bone , didn’t like anything else off the i forgot the album name and death magnetic had a few moments, did the money cloud their minds and they forgot how to make mean innovative thrash… bands as old as them ( members age wise) are still making kick ass thrash without sounding like carbon copies of their past works

I'd never heard of these guys til now but I'll now be checking them out. Speaking of Gothic Metal there's a new band called Cemetery Skyline (made up of Mikael Stanne [Dark Tranquility], Markus Vanhala [Insomnium], Santeri Kallio [Amorphis], Victor Brandt [Dimmu Borgir] & Vesa Ranta [Sentenced]) who seem to be influenced by Gothic Metal and early 2000's Katatonia..released 2 singles so far.

Hate Varg everything you want but Burzum is one of the best metal bands ever. First 4 albums are classics. If you don't like Burzum then you don"t like black metal. As simple as that. If this were a list about musicians that are bad people, fine add Varg. But say that he is a bad vocalist just based on thier political views is dumb.

Opeth, Metallica, Type O, and Death some great stuff. I got to see opeth, metallica, and type O live and they were amazing. I also really like Red Fang, dark tranquillity, morbid Angel, skeletonwitch, the sword, baroness, cynic. Well and much more.

I just have so much trouble getting into them, just so much of it feels like it’s just shock value instead of good song writing. But that’s just my opinion. Oh and just found your channel and I’m getting back into metal and so far great job guys!

This may look obnoxious, but I’ll go 1 by 1: 1. Sepultura was better with Max, but he is salty, and that final run of Machine Messiah and Quadra is amazing; Quadra is for me top 3 in their discography. 2. I just saw Megadeth live, and Mustaine sounded great. You can hear his age, but he can still do it. 3. I don’t like Deathcore, so I can’t be objective at all. 4. I’ve got a hot take of my own: Morbid Angel should release a final album true to what they’ve been for most of their career and then retire. I love them, but that’s just how I feel. 5. Tech death is not really my favorite, but it mostly offers a lot of quality music, so I’m good with it. Hope that wasn’t annoying, nice video guys 🤘🤘

Haven't gotten into them or bands like Obscura, so a list of best modern tech death bands would be really interesting. The best tech stuff I have heard recently is from established bands (Dying Fetus, Nile, Suffocation) although BandCamp brings up a few gems (Dead and Dripping's 2023 album)

I don't care for Illud Divinum Insanus, but I do defend that album a little more than most fans. I think they deserve props for taking a risk and going in a slightly different direction; even though it didn't pay off. And there are a few bangers on it as well! It's just wildly inconsistent and super corny at times.

Related to the Dave Mustaine topic, I'd like to see Dani Filth step back as a manager/composer only for COF, just how happened to Angela Gossow with Arch Enemy, because his vocals live have been really inconsistent lately. He was definetely good during the 90s and early 00s, but he seems tired now

I've never even listened to dream theater. The only reason i know james labrie is from his older hair metal band called winter rose. I only heard the one song by them called "I'll never fall in love again." Good tune though. I don't find his singing annoying at all on that. Sounds really good, actually.
