If you just started building a family with small and low income,i would never sugest you to come in florida because you would never make it .the reasons are simple ,high cost of living,lower wage would kill your unique dream.i live in miami since 1991,longtime ago i tell you what ,it used to be a cheaper place where you could make a decent life,now it goes down the hill because of greed,hate and selfishness.its gonna be hard for the young kids to have a great future in florida.

I wish I bought when I moved to Fll in 2018. Prices are so high now. Covid made everything double or triple the price. I’ve been trying to buy around las olas. Renting right there in just wasting money but I can just walk outside and feel like I’m in Hoboken. I kick myself all the time. I don’t even mind a town house but not these crazy prices:(

We do have seasonal depression, because it's all relative. When it gets dark at 5:00, it affects us Floridians. We are used to sun and light. We do have a sense of time, it's just not based on the typical winter/spring/summer/fall. We have hurricane season, college football season, lobster season, stone crab season, our fruit trees are seasonal, even mosquitos are seasonal. Ironically, the native Floridians whom I know in Broward are actually leaving. I am the last one left here, and I'm out in January.

I had to run from South Florida and I grew up there

Florida has become a concrete nightmare. All the nice semi-rural areas have been destroyed. Places that used to be beautiful fields and low lying wet lands are gone.

I love Florida and I don't want to leave, but as I get closer to retirement age, I think it may be time. This is not a good place to be anymore if you're older and not rich. You will struggle to barely get by. It's really hard to have fun here when expenses keep going up, especially car and home insurance. It's insane.

People leaving Florida because of DeSantis and his big fat mouth, bad home insurance in that state that cancel policies and HURRICANES!

The main reason for me is the violence is going crazy, traffic is horrendous and so much more😊

We have to look at the root of the problem intead of trimming the bush. Political corruption has ruined Miami. Every opportunist, with a briefcase full of cash, is cherished and allowed to do whatever he or she wants: from grotesque annual festivities, to full scale developments only multi millionaires can afford. The average 9 to 5 person has been ignored and pushed aside, so the middle class is disappearing, either you are filthy rich or miserably poor. I have never witnessed so much dirty money flowing rampant around one city before. So obvious it is pathetic. Let me repeat this: Local politicians serving the interest of those who bring them money, and they couldn't care less about those who voted for them. I left Miami a while back never to look back again. North of West Palm Beach you can still breathe some clean air.

So less Democrats, thank God. Thats why I left NYC and moved to South Florida last September.

In the 70’s when I was in my 20’s, Fort Lauderdale was great! Beautiful, sexy women, beautiful cars great restaurants and easy commuting. Now? I would not give you a dime to be there. I’m glad I lived there when it was great!

Left Florida in 2017 for Seattle Washington for a good job but came back 2023 and glad to be back. Florida has cons but I missed it here.

I was there last week I leave in PBC & PSL from 2000 to 2011 them I move north. Every time I visit is getting so freaking crazy. Traffic , cost of living , over crowded and idiot people moving in. Insurance is just another freaking scam super overpriced.

South Florida is a life style. Modern living for high profile people it's really the new Hollywood. It is what it is but it's conservative to a point because it is a party all day everyday. 😂 If you like a more relaxing family oriented location look at SWFL.

I lived all over south fla. and I do not have time to type all the many reasons, but a few are cost of living, estate taxes, housing insurance, car insurance, racism, weather, insane housing and or rental prices, racism, politics, but no state sales tax so that’s a plus? Oh, with my job when I moved out of #floraduhhh I went up 3 tax brackets in earnings for the same job! Did I mention the racism ?

Raised in S. Fl. and lived in the State the majority of my life and now retired in the Panhandle. The reason I'm here instead of the South is this is where the ACTUAL Floridians still live. EVERYTHING you can point to that people say is a problem with South Fl ; and especially the Cities can be boiled down to 1 thing in my opinion. PEOPLE moving here to escape the BULLSHIT they allowed where they lived before and bringing the EXACT same Political BS HERE and implementing it.
