Just as with Amazing Grace he turned to him into an Anthem. He turned this Anthem into an Anthem or an Anthem that goes with the don't tread on me shirt he almost always wears. And the apology is almost better than the song. Anton Chekhov says that the role of an artist is not to answer questions but to ask them. All of these people who were against dance interpretation need to look at themselves in ask why did they have that reaction. Even if you did like it it's still a good idea to ask yourself why if only to reaffirm your beliefs. Dan is a truly humble original down-to-earth human being and I know my life is better now that I've discovered him

To be entirely fair, and from what I understand, the complaints about Dan singing the Star Spangled Banner didn't come from Americans, even the ungrateful, woke ones. It came from some of his Brazilian fans who didn't like him singing another country's national anthem, as if it somehow showed disrespect to Brazil. Sadly, wimps are wimps the world over.

What an honor it must be to be able to sing with Don McLean and the result is so great. With a Home Free twist but still respecting the original. The harmony is amazing again. It really is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to do a "FIRST reaction," the way it is taken here on YT, because if you've never HEARD the particular version of the song before, you could not RE-act to it...literally. BEING a reactor is great, but the audience REALLY never should expect a person to NOT have heard the singer's version of the song before. Initially, there was absolutely NO RULE about this type of thing. Someone at some point, simply decided that they would play music, and tell people what they thought of it. THAT reaction, in and of itself, IS "reactionary." It means you hear something (which is an action), and then you talk about it, so you are going over the whole thing again, as an explanation of what you thought you heard (which is a RE-action). From an online dictionary -- for the word "react": 1...to act in response to an agent or influence: "How did the audience react to the speech?" My comment about that: this is the way it gets used, mostly, these days. From my experience technology can be quite picky who it does and doesn't like (it and I have our problems, too). As long as you are upfront that this isn't the first time gearing/seeing this it's fine for you to react to stuff you already know. Loved your reaction to both videos, bud. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. I absolutely love Dan's Star Spangled Banner. Haters will hate. It's not like he had his hand over his heart pledging allegiance to our flag (yet). His unapologetic "Apology" video gets me every time & it's so much fun to watch people react to. There have been numerous channels reacting to these 2 videos today with very similar reactions. Glad to see Dan getting recognized for who he is in addition to his musical abilities. The closest I'd ever heard to a metal version before Dan's version was Madison Rising's Star Spangled Banner. It's more American Rock, but my goodnesss it's awesome. Those are 2 of my top favorite versions. If you're going to do a Patriot Pride month, maybe check that version out, as well. The band isn't together anymore, but the lead singer (Dave Bray) is a Navy/Marines veteran, and they added a little personal verse of their own as a message to any enemies of this country. Madison Rising had lots of patriotic songs. Dave Bray is solo now & still doing great patriotic "for God & country" music. Happy 4th of July to you! 🇺🇸

Dan Vasc has such a high quality trained voice. The apology video is as cool as Dan Vasc himself. Great personality....🤘
