In the case of using spade lugs, would it have been possible to either tap the new CB, or the spade lug (which ever of the two is thickest) and position the lug or switch, to accept a screw to secure them together?

That washer holding the pilot jets is a very unusual fastener, but I don't think it is proprietary. I actually have the tool to remove those. I found it in my grandfather's shop when he passed away. I wasn't sure what it was used for, but I am glad I kept it. It is just like a normal screwdriver, but with that notch cut out in the middle. You could easily make one out of a regular flathead screwdriver.

This carb setup reminds me of the GCV 160 that I was working on this morning. You need about 8 hands and a lot of patience, lol.

How did you disassemble the fuel shutoff solenoid? I wasn't even aware that they could be disassembled.

You aren't lying. Those little Phillips head bowl screws will strip out every single time. I just immediately grab the channel locks whenever I encounter them. I just use the channel locks to break them loose.

What type of screwdriver do you use on your carbs? I actually need one fr a project right now, and I have not been able to find one anywhere, since I don't even know the proper name for it.

A habit I got into years ago is taking pictures. If I am working on a machine that I am not familiar with, I will take pictures before I begin disassembly, so that I have something to fall back on if I can't remember how something went together. It has saved me a lot of trouble numerous times.

That is a ridiculous and unnecessarily complicated carb setup for a such a small machine. Common maintenance parts such as carburetors should not be the difficult to access. That is a poor design, in my humble opinion. It is like using a cannon to kill a mosquito.

Fuel shutoff solenoids, smh. They are such a pain. I immediately install the solenoid delete package on all of my machines. They are the bane of my existence. I have had so many run issues on various machines due to fuel shutoff solenoids.

Ensure 1st thing to check is fuel and additive portions!

What engine manuf, CC/HP and series are those engine that have wiped cam lobes? Seems to be a trait among those machines.

Was it only me that noticed you forgot to put the fuel hose clamp back on the carburetor side before the first test?😁😆 Could that possibly have been part of the cause of the unstable idle?

The Hondas are awesome little generators. I had a batch of a dozen. During Covid we were running medical tents at hospitals and these units ran nonstop sans refueling. We had zero issues with them and would service them per spec. by tracking hours of operation. We had a knock off version from a certain tool retail store, and it grenaded after several weeks of service. Replaced it with a Honda and no more issues. I currently have one of these on my salt water fishing boat and it runs flawlessly and has for the last 4 years. Clean oil, fuel, sparkplug gap, and wiping down help maintain it. There is a micro circuit board in these that can go bad and keep it from firing up. Found that out when a friend accidently submerged his non-running generator in salt water which lead to the board failure from corrosion and electrolysis.

The prefilter is the same as what is in most vacuum cleaners.

Do you have any suggestions for surging in an Ariens path pro 21" 208cc single stage paddle snow blower. I'm suspecting the fuel jet may need cleaning.

That was a lot of work. Curious how much of this is hobby enjoyment vs business venture. Seems like a cool mix of both worlds - way to go in making this work for you! Caught your other zero turn radius repair and know how tough it is to debead tires from a rim. Still it made me cringe when watching you attack the tire with those screwdrivers and prying against the rim. I'd have been worried about scraping the rim edge and not able to get a long term tire bead seal. Maybe something like a motorcycle tire spoons but those would not have given you the needed leverage. There is nothing like a tire machine mount to work with that stuff. I live and struggle vicariously through your vlog efforts!

Does the exhaust and air filter need to be on to try starting? I am still diagnosing mine after a carb clean and it’s “exhausting” to keep reassembling

Watching your video i found that with that type of rocker you don't get a accurate reading just putting filler gauge under like you and others do because of the dimple on the rocker to me the valve rest on that not the side's of rocker cut down the filler gauge so that it doesn't touch the sides of the rocker there cheap enough cut with scissors

Once you first got it started and found it was producing electricity, you should have just repowered it with a predator engine. I do appreciate your persistence and attention to detail. It was a very interesting video.
