A year later, and guess what? That set of The Makers of the Modern World is on sale again at the Univ. of Chicago Press...and I thought of you! I was like, wow, I wonder if he's read those yet...do you have any feedback? This 30-book set is only $119 at the press website, but dang....it's a LOT of books. Wondering if it's worth the shelf space. Hope you're doing well...we miss your vids!
Those 30 books are a book a day serious.
Best way to learn Kant is to read Deleuze
Wonderful summary!
Mescaline, the only way to fly.
Interesting video- hope you'll make a comeback with your YT channel in 2023
The book sharing starts at 4:22 😊
You can try some robin Sharma books
There's not a lot of nonfiction booktubers, so I really I appreciate your recommendations and reviews. Hope to see more videos!
He's my uncle!
Greaten to see you again, buddy! And a near-fiction, huh!? Going to look all these up.
Geoengineering solutions to climate change are fascinating. I agree that they will probably be necessary. And it's true that there are side effects - e.g. most of the world's photosynthesis comes from ocean algae which could fertilized with iron and genetically modified to increase photosynthesis, but modifications to toxins, alkalinity, temperature, etc would also have to be engineered. Some really interesting, wide ranging, and relevant ideas in your reviews - keep them coming!
Glad see you back and glad you are feeling better!
Nothing is too niche for me. I’m wired to find an interest in just about everything. 🤣 Also, challenge accepted, I’m picking up Ending Aging. Highlighter, sticky notes, and dictionary at the ready.
Me who is trying to live forever or die trying: buys all the books.
I really like your video's! What booktubers do you watch yourself?
That Artificial Intelligence book sounds very interesting. I’ve always been skeptical that AI could really be created to think for itself like humans do. That book would probably agree with me!
Welcome back ❤️✨
Glad to be on Booktube again!
Would love to know if you are interested in any of these!
I'm interested in the myth of A.I book. I'm not a "futurist" in all regards, but it seems like its all everyone talks about how its an inevitability. This book sounds like a solid contrarian view on the topic.
Waited for a long time...
Lol you were waiting for this or i waited a long time to post the tbr
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying I was waiting for this..😃...
@@jaychatwani3768 if all goes well they will be a monthly installation along with wrap ups and hauls
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying Great... 👍🏻 Looking forward to watch them...
All three sound really interesting! Esp the implications of geoengineering, I will try and pick that one up this year. My fave non-fiction book last year was Born A Crime by Trevor Noah. I thought that was an excellent memoir!
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it! Born A Crime is one I have seen everywhere but I'm not to keen on memoirs tbh. Might give it a try nonetheless
Those books are definitely up my allay! My top 3 reads in 2021 are (1) The Code Breaker - W. Isaacson; (2) Novacene - J. Lovelock and; (3) The Gene - S. Mukherjee. The past year really got me interested in genetics.
Code breaker is one i was trying to get to this year. It would be my first Walter Isaacson read. The gene was also fantastic and one of the first non fic books I have ever read. Now novascene is a new one to me i will be looking into!
Glad you're back! Good luck with all your goals!
Thank you! You too!
Glad you’re back! I always enjoy your nonfiction pics since book tube is fullll of fiction. Im a meteorologist so I’m super excited to pick up after geoengineering
Ooooo I would love to know your perspective on if you think Geoengeering is inevitable and if so if you think it's a net good or bad
I would love to hear your thoughts on these books! Seem intersting or maybe they are too niche or I'm just weird as shit, let me know!!
Great video!! Finally a good non fiction video.
Glad you liked it!
Happy to see you again!
'I'm going to read a lot of books I can use in real life' ' I'm reading a book on Charles Manson' do we need to worry? 😂
Shhhhhh
Would love to see you doing some politics out in the community!!
So real life praxis huh? I honestly would love to work on some mutual aid projects. I plan on gardening more than I can eat so feeding the hungry is in the cards this summer
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying yeah! That’s what’s up! Are you doing organic? (I hope!) We have been composting for years and have had a couple of good harvests-always well more than we can eat. There’s lots of ways to participate in mutual aid so I look forward to seeing them! Btw I finally got around to recording about 18 months’ worth of book reviews! If you want to take a look 😉
@@reviewsfromasocialjusticel8558 all organic and using some regenerative farming techniques as well. And yea I binged your recent videos. So excited to see them and added a bit to the tbr!
Would love to see videos on actioning non-fiction!
Just found your channel. Good to see youre gearing up for a great 2022
Welcome friend! Glad to have you here
I recommend any book by Katy Bowman. She's a biomechanist and talks a lot about proper body alignment, which most people don't have. It's super easy to implement changes after learning what she has to say on the subject. She's really funny, too, so that makes the reading even better.
sounds like a good read thanks for the rec. I think i need that.
Thanks for the tip!
Great to see you back! Always love your book recs.
It's good to y'all again as well! I've been away for too long
Welcome back✨ I feel you and wanting to read more actionable books as well! Can't wait to see your picks this year. A monthly/seasonal video on actionable steps sounds so fun!
Awesome, any particular topics you think would be interesting to cover within this series?
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying i think sustainable productivity is a great place to start!
love this goal! are you on audea? was trying to find some of your content to listen to there!
Hmm haven't heard of that platform before. Is it an audio only site?
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying yup its basically a youtube of audio and i use it to find audeas (audio-ideas) like i use youtube to find videos haha. i enjoy listening to you so would like to on there. keep up the good work!!
Hmm I will have to give it a solid consideration. If I start posting there I am sure I will make an annoucement via video or Insta post
So great to see you. Really glad to hear that business has been booming. I am going into 2022 feeling pretty off. Suffered some bad losses in 2021 but I am an optimist at heart so hoping the new year has some good things in store 👌🏻
Well if we are in the same boat I hope we are sailing in the right direction friend. Glad to see you around again
I'm really glad you're back. Love the work you're doing here, Thanks.
Much appreciated!
It's great to see you again! I'm glad the family business is doing well. I love the idea of planning out an action to follow after reading a book. Just make sure your goals are reasonable/attainable so you don't get overwhelmed.
Attainable is the key, I tend to get overwhelmed when balancing buisiness with hobbies so that is going to be the make or break point
Finally you are back
And hopefully here to stay!
Good to see you back and that you're feeling good! If you wanna put our heads together on seeds/gardening hit me up! I'm working with a african co-op where I live to try and spread awareness on seed harvesting and seed restoring! Also, highly recommend the book Eating to Extinction to Dan Saladino - I think you'd really like it and it directly connects to a lot of the hobbies you're discussing from gardening to seed harvesting!
Will do! I have a lot of big ideas. Already have raised beds and pots indoors and out. + a grow tent. Next up is some Hydroponic systems like DWC and NFT, maybe even a mushroom tent or aquaponics if I get really bold. Haven't even thought about seed saving but that is a great idea! Especially if I am doing heirlooms and rarer seeds.
