- Join me in a chill video in which I build out my TBR by reviewing NYT's top 50 nonfiction books of 2020. All in all I thought it was a super solid list for the general nonfiction reader. It carried heavy themes of civil rights, politics, cosmology, and nature sciences. What did you think. Did any of there choices for the best books of 2020 align with what you read? Did your favorite book not make it? Let me know below!
Also the music is something new I am trying. LMK if you are feeling the vibe!

Let me know if you prefer the chill format with lofi + a slightly slower pace than the standard video. I would love feedback on this!
Your channel has quickly grown into my favourite booktube channel (and I watch a lot of them) as I love your taste in books and the way in which you talk about the books you read. Not enough non fiction channels out there if you ask me, so videos like these are very much appreciated. I vastly prefer your longer videos so def keep them coming!
Thank you Katarina! And I am glad to know the longer content is appreciated. It is probably my favorite to make, however the views don't always do as well.
Great video. Good format. I'm always glad to hear you talk about nonfiction.
Thank you Jeremy! Appreciate you stopping in as always
I agree with you. Whenever I start reading about political personalities I will go top down. I have read about Churchill, Stalin, Lincoln, Trump, Hilary. I think that gives a broader perspective than the really focussed small pieces do.
I'm glad we are aligned there. Out of curiosity can I ask who you have read about so far?
This channel deserves more hype
Thank you Blair, fingers crossed for 2k by 2021, Looking to establish a goal for end of 2021 too!
Love your channel!
Thank you!
I'm into this style of video 😊
Fantastic, more to come then
The Sirens of Mars was SOOOOOO good. It wasn't heavy at all! Super light and fun history stuff with personal life mixed in
Hmm, I might have to look more into that then. I didn't love a lot of the nature memoirs I have read but maybe this science memoir would be more up my alley
What a feast of a video! Although I feel behoooooooved to point out that there is ultimately only one year-end book list, and it's currently unfolding on Open Letters Review, by yours truly! Some of these books achieve a place on that list - but only a few!
Variety is the spice of life. Eagerly anticipating your lists Steve!
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying You can feast your eyes on the first eight or so right now, with another week of categories still to come: openlettersreview.com/
Steve you are, in one word, prolific 😯
@@saintdonoghue would you mind if I repurposed your nonfiction lists in the same style of video? You're selections look great. If you are going to make your own recap however I totally understand if I shouldn't! Feel free to respond via email if more appropriate
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying You're free to use my lists any way you like! Although if the focus is nonfiction, you surely want to wait a bit, since some big nonfiction categories - including History, Biography, Best Nonfiction, and - infamously - Worst Nonfiction!
Please look into getting a new microphone and reducing reverb. The sound is the only thing that needs major improvement! :)
Noted 🙏
lot of thanks
My pleasure
I agree with you on the memoirs and biographies. It has to be someone of extreme significance, like Leonardo da Vinci or Barack Obama, to really catch my interest. :)
Thank you! I'm not alone lol. It feels like many of the nonfiction book tubers focus a lot on individual memoirs so I deff felt a little left out in this regard. Who have you read about so far?
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying Working through the biographies of Catherine de Medici, Mary Shelley, Alexandre Dumas (The Black Count), Lucrezia Borgia, and I want to find a good book on Julius Caesar. :)
Beware book of eels is mainly about the author’s daddy issues, and much less about the mystery of eels
Big oof. I hate when nature books comes off as author memoirs instead of talking about the subject on the cover
i aspire to be you
Too kind!
👆🏻Hey CZcams 👆🏻
👋👋
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying About Henry Kissinger who you briefly touched upon at 11:00 mark... He’s a war criminal but Hannah Arendt is also mentioned and she is awesome
I am dying, you are really a higher iq person than most others CZcamsr
Ahah i appreciate but personally I feel pretty dumb most of the time 😅
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying smae for me , my environment is too bad , that's why I have read only one book in the whole year
Hate to hear it, hopefully something changes in 2021 for you!
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying thank you😭😭,may your life be better than now also in 2021🤗🤗
*try reading the books before reviewing them
Bad luck man, out of 35~ vids this is 1 of 5 that I didn't read them first. Have you given any other videos a try? TBRs are the same format as this so you wouldn't like em. Maybe wrap-ups or starter packs are your speed?
You seroiusly look like a guy from 13 reasons why, very similar.
Whats the guy name, ill check it out
@@LiveForeverorDieTrying Tommy Dorfman
My girlfriends mom said the exact same thing lmao
