Cybersecurity in general is not entry level. How can protect a system without understanding how that system works?

I don't care if about not starting at 6 figures. I'm getting the heck out of the trucking industry. I love life and my I value my family time wholeheartedly.

Any tech person that don't know A+ and Network+ don't know shit about computers (formally). LOL Get Security+ and learn to secure what you don't know nothing about? LOL Y'all goofy ass fuck. LOL I get hiring somebody and teaching them, but damn I ain't got time to be teaching basic admin and networking. Jesus Christmas LOL

175K has to be on the east or west Coast. The average salary for a CTI analyst in Texas is 90k-140K.

I start Per schola in December. Glad to see someone who took the bootcamp and got something out of it.

Alot of people who take courses and jump right into cyber security get exposed and/or fired. Its tough to jump into cyber security IF you dont have basic IT or infrasturcture knowledge, just the basics. See so many people start and get fired after 2-4 weeks. Dont just study study security, learn just a little about networking, cloud, desktops, and servers. Last cyber security person I saw get fired...didnt know how to ping an IP or lookup a hostname. Alot of content creators mean well but they are not telling you everything. They are just scratching the surface. In IT, if you are melanated, you better know your ish....other communities be clueless and will still have their job but we dont have that luxury. Most jobs will start $70K to $80K if you are new to the field...if you have some prior experience, you can get $90K to $100K but no one is walking into the field making $200K, thatd complete BS. People pulling $200K are typically at least a manager or security team lead...have some kind of specilization like firewall, DDOS...etc

My role is in GRC. It's heavily slept on. Very stress free and for the most part the work life balance is great.

hes telling the truth. got my first job in cyber last year, started at 60k. 6 months i got a bump, went to 72k. Now Im at 90k after a year lol. I'm fulling expecting 6 figured by dec though.

Soo still in school former air force cop i work in a SOC already however it aint the IT version its the security realm role…does this skillset transfer we work with things like ccure 9000 Genetec and use computers to monitor the action alarms

Why would someone leave from software to cybersecurity? I think that person found software difficult and dropped out to join the hype of cybersecurity in today’s market

I didn't get the idea that as a cyber security proffesional you will be riding around like Paris Hilton. But I did get the idea that I won't be living paycheck to paycheck, I'll be able to afford my kids private school more comfortably, I could take the fam out on a nice vacation once a year, and be able to fix the cars as needed, fix my HVAC unit, etc. that's what I want really. Love the channel tho!

To get started I would take a helpdesk job. It’s a start and a way to find other roles in the industry or with the company.
