I was a kid when this came out but I was a "Sega kid" before getting a Nintendo. Had an Atari before that. So, this was actually my second Zelda game. Zelda II was my first. It's funny because I loved Zelda II and in my mind it was better but in my memory the original is still the most fresh. I played that game for hours and hours and hours. Couldn't save or nothing! 😅 Fun fact: Zelda II introduced the battery/save function to most of us and it was INCREDIBLE! Edit - oh and best game on NES was Super Mario 3 hands down, no argument. Contra was awesome. Metroid was too. So many good ones but Super Mario 3 was revolutionary for that time!! Graphically and otherwise. It was to the NES what Ocarina of Time was to the N64 in my mind.

The practice of restarting the whole game when getting stuck is exactly what I do to this day. There is the step in between of leaving the game rot for a couple of months until I forgot all the controls and feel even more inclined to just start over. Poor BotW took me like 4 attempts to finally beat it^^

I have to admit that I was really skeptical you really didn't know about OoT glitches after you hovered into the Forest Temple as child (that trick is by far the hardest thing you did in this video) But after seeing you figuring it out along the way I was sure you didn't know anything This video is really fun to watch as someone who has followed OoT speedruns for a long time, but also painfully frustrating XD You could've made your life soooooo much easier, so *cracks knuckles* let's get into it You could've used a glitch called reverse bottle adventure (RBA) for which you only need a bottle and is completely trivial to do as adult It involves getting a bottle on your B button after which every time you catch or drop something from the B bottle your inventory will be changed depending on what is equipped on c-right This glitch could've given you *inhales* bomb bag, quiver, gold gauntlets, gold scale, adult wallet, infinite bombs and infinite bombchus (it can also give some songs and medallions but that's against the challenge) Also you might have noticed that when you became adult you had bombs equipped even though you didn't have them If you do RBA with bombs on c-right you get a bottle on your bomb slot in your inventory and the game only checks if you have something on your bomb slot and a bomb bag to allow bombs to drop from grass (this also applies for the arrow drops, something on the bow slot and a quiver) Since you have bombs equipped this means you can use bombs practically immediately after becoming adult. (All though you can never unequip them or they're gone) Also you can get a bottle on your bow slot through another glitch which only needs a bottle + ice arrows and you don't need magic to use ice arrows (it just fires normal arrows just like it would when you run out of magic) So yeah, you can use the bow, don't have to worry about bombchu's and could've skipped the bomb hover to the silver gauntlets EDIT: omg, I just realized that hovering into forest temple as child isn't even neccesary XD If you died on the fire temple blue warp (just like you did in forest temple) you would've wrong warped into forest temple thus skipping minuet and allowing you to get bow normally since you can get gold gauntlets from RBA

Playing this game was amazing when released and the thing that made it completely mind blowing was finishing it and then being given the ability to continue to play the game but this time in the underworld. That is something that I still remember fondly decades later.

btw, im pretty sure the 'funny knee-thing' that AdultLink does in cutscenes is based on how those cutscenes were coded...as far as i understand it, they basically have a pointer for where Link's Head should be, and then another pointer for where his Feet should be...this is to prevent his feet from simply clipping into the ground, if theres uneven terrain or whatever...but the Distance between Head and Feet is hard-coded into the cutscene based on the age Link SHOULD be during that cutscene... a "less-glitchy leftover" of this is the SleepingWaterfall cutscene at Zora's River (its the sweeping camera movement after playing Zelda's Lullaby at the entrance)...apparently the devs forgot that AdultLink has to come through here too, because his knees are all bent for This cutscene, since his Head and Feet placement are based on YoungLink's height... (as for an 'Adult Cutscene as Child' example, the Ganondorf-Ganon Transformation cutscene will have YoungLink standing at the same height as AdultZelda, but the camera is 'conveniently' cropped to not show Link's floating legs, iirc)
