Sachét shares her deeply personal struggle growing up in an abusive household and later entering into an abusive relationship that would lead her to one of the lowest points in her life. With the support of First Step, Sachét was able to secure a good job and a real home, and is now focused on “finding Sachét again.”

If you can't pay for your babies -- don't have one. Until you are in a stable job and stable home -- control your birth control. Having a baby before you can feed yourself is foolish. Why choose a life of poverty for yourself? Get yourself out of poverty by gradually improving your life. Day by day. Have SKILLS that are needed in EMPLOYMENT. How can you feed your own baby when you cannot be responsible for your own life? Don't breed them if you can't feed them.

I just want to say how grateful I am to Juan. When I told him I had cancer and that I was holding off treatment because I needed to re-insulate my van before winter so I could at least be comfortable and not freeze to death like I almost did the year prior, he stepped up. I said I had everything but the wood panels for the walls and ceiling. June 2021, he told me to tear up my van and he'll donate the wood. As soon as I did, he ignored me for months. By December my tumors almost tripled in size and the pain was unbearable so I had to face the cancer and the winter in a completely gutted van. I have stage 3 and was almost suicidal because of you Juan. This organization is a scam. But at least the donations helped YOU renovate your home, you fucking scum bag!

I have been in the shelter system for over nine months or more ,.and my housing package has long been completed. But I have yet to get any help with getting me an apartment.It is very up setting that I had to seek help from an out side agent.
Paaaaaauuuuulllll 😭 Gosh what a heart of gold. It so awesome that they wanted to use their skills as film makers to try to make a difference. Even if it’s a big dream. It’s a lovely dream to have.
Today's society and it's beauty ideals are so messed up. I have been watching old Hollywood movies lately. And I always adore Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren (my ultimate favourite). While they were/are all uniquely beautiful in their own ways, they have one thing in common_none of them have thigh gaps. Also, none of them are stick thin. While they are/were still lean, but they were never shamed for their curves at their times. We need to redefine our concept of normal. We need to redefine beauty. That's what we need today. *More Sophia Loren, less nameless anorexic models.* #nuffsaid

I have struggled with the outward vision of myself & let society & myself dictate who I was supposed to be when deep down I knew who I was. At 51, divorced & having gone through a couple of destructive relationships I find myself at a turning point in my life, but still struggle to bring That woman out. Thank you Ashley. You truly are an inspiration.
During the pandemic what resources are available for unhoused youth? I know of two youth that are not with their families. Where do youth go that are out of the home?
