"Navy Strength" - What you're telling there, is the story behind the word "Proof". Thats kinda left out.

I cannot find but only 1 or 2 Sloe Gins in liquor stores around my state of Illinois.

Is Britvic tonic water is alcoholic?

My wife and I just spent a week in London at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel. It was a wonderful hotel with a great bar and staff. My wife and I spent several evenings there enjoying their great scotches and gin and tonics. We started to order our drinks. I usually order Bombay Sapphire on the rocks with olives and my wife loves Tanqueray with Schweppes tonic. Our bar tender suggested that my wife may enjoy a different gin and a different tonic. He introduced us with a gin from France “Transatlantic Navy Strength Gin” distilled from grapes, with Fresh pineapple and chili & peppers. He also introduced us to Fever-Tree Tonic water. That evening changed our Gin and Tonics. When we returned home in South Carolina ❤we have been able to find numerous sources for most of the Fever-Tree tonics (at various prices), however we have not been successful in finding Bordeaux Distilling’s Transatlantic Navy Strength Gin if anyone knows of a source in the USA or a site that I can purchase and have it shipped. Tried many gins but somehow not got round to trying Botanist. As a summer gin Hendricks superb, fever tree and a long thin slice of cumber makes for a wonderful refreshing drink.

It's 65 bucks for one liter here in the US at my local liquor store. I thought that was a lot, but I guess it isn't.

I usually drink the common brands of tonic water plain. It has a grapefruit-like flavor-taste (you can also mix it with unsweetened grapefruit juice for a spritzy summertime beverage-drink). Most drinks that claim to be "grapefruit-flavored" taste nothing like grapefruit.

So glad I’m in Cambodia where the typical Gin & Tonic at a restaurant is only $2.00 US. I’m enjoying one now as I watch this amazing video. Cheers!

I’m drinking Fever-Tree right now. How appropriate. I will not buy a tonic with artificial ingredients or fructose or any artificial (fake) or diet sugars. Another favorite is Q brand.

Huh, I've been making this and not realizing it was an official cocktail. Mine is 1.5oz Beefeater(I like the citrus notes), 0.5oz triple sec, 1oz lemon juice, 1oz simple syrup. Shake with ice.

I can agree with Schweppes being best enjoyed without gin, just simply as a soda! When I was a kid, I saw my dad pour himself a G&T at a house party and wanted to try the tonic, as a joke he poured me a glass and gave it to me, expecting me to make a face from the bitter taste, but to his surprise I actually enjoyed it! It got to the point that he would have to hide tonic from me because I would drink it so often! To this day Schweppes tonic is my go-to soft drink of choice, especially during meals as its bitter profile goes well with most savoury foods!

Wish I could find some Bathtub in my area of the USA. Also, giving the name "gin" to "genever" is like saying that "cachaca" is "rum." Genever is a very broad category of spirit that rivals gin itself.

Well I can see why you dislike it, but those are the reasons I like it. I am no fan of liquorice root so many gins taste to much of it. This has a good balance for me, but I can see how someone who like that flavour will find it missing

i wish i liked it more. the two most prominent flavors I got were charcoal and wet cardboard.

Bombay Sapphire is most popular with people who don't know gin but think it's somehow better than Tanquaray or Beefeater, which it's not BUT it's all subjective.

This one is my favorite in a dry martini, with dolin dry 5:1, single drop of orange bitters, straight up with a twist (squeezed on top).

Sipping a tiny amount of beefeater olongside side No3 (dutch) gin and Langleys award winning Old Tom gin (orange label). Beefeater certainly holds it's own although there are certainly more loud bold flavours coming from the No.3 and to a lesser extent there is boldness in the Langleys Old Tom. That's a good night with those 3 😋

Tried this a couple of days ago after a recommendation from a friend of mine, came here checking reviews to learn more about this Monkey 47. Definitely powerful stuff, the kind of drink that does burn you for quite some time in that first gulp, but in a pleasant way. Very rich taste, and very rich smell as well.
