Huntsville City Hall Public Art: Making art a part of everyday life
Since being elected to lead Huntsville in 2008, Mayor Tommy Battle and the City Council have staunchly supported the City’s flourishing artist community, from the paint-splattered workspaces of Lowe Mill to exhibits at the Huntsville Museum of Art. Since 2012, Mayor Battle and the City Council have also committed to enhancing our shared public spaces with works of public art.
Fortunately, there’s a plan guiding the master strokes - the City’s Public Art Master Plan (PAMP). A collaboration with Arts Huntsville, the PAMP enhances the City’s culture and ultimately attracts development opportunities. Huntsville was the first city in Alabama to enact such a plan.
One of the most significant initiatives to emerge from the PAMP was the commissioning of large-scale public art installations for the new Huntsville City Hall. Arts Huntsville issued a national Request for Qualifications in 2021, and projects were developed in accordance with the PAMP under the guidance of the Huntsville Public Art Committee and Arts Huntsville.

My favorite Jerry Clower line: "It's obvious that you've been educated beyond your intelligence."
This is some super weird shit lol😂
Where are the archives for 1986 Curtis Countdown episodes?
Are they still singing ❤
No audio?
That's wonderful!
These were my grandparents as well. They are very missed and very loved. Mr cagle passed away in 1993 and mrs cagle in 2014
Yours too I meant that They are your grandparents too
@sara022508 I hope 🤞 you show katielyn this video of our grandparents and you might tell her that your great grandfather 👴 and great grandmother 👵 when they were alive
Super guys...!
I got to see him in person many years ago. A good friend used to tell his stories at school and even got to meet him. Awhile back I got an autographed photo. Sadly, an autographed cassette I got off eBay disappeared. He could be funny without working blue. As always, his Christian faith was on display.
The waters are raging, get onboard ❤
Beautiful art…beautiful video. Nice job. Thanks
Look how normal everyone looks.
Why was this suggested to me🙏🙏
Very nice but the lyrics I know are completely different

What do you have on the roads of Huntsville pure corruption you have to get out you start projects and don't finish them you steal all the money the roads in Huntsville are destroyed why don't you fix them the sparkman the blue spring dr nw, mastín lake rd nw and all the nearby roads These are destroyed and the rules no longer exist in the places of white racism when they go to fix the streets they are destroyed
Yes I was a POST certified officer in California and was Police Officer of the Year 2 years straight as a sworn officer---just in case
If this test is so important then why don't all officers have to complete this test every year. All SWORN officers should complete a physical agility test every year!!!! As a former SPECOP member every 6 months we had to complete a physical agility test. Yet I see overweight officers everday and don't understand it. Personally I don't think an agility test should be performed as all states have a different set of criteria. During 2024 there was a 23 year old officer who passed away after being involved in a foot chase---this fallen hero had gong through the academy yet he passed away while in foot pursuit. As long as an applicant is not obese or seriously overweight it would be a good idea to have him or her condut a weekly cardio and weight lift work out during the first year of their training and then be given a physical agility test.
Wonderful. Beautiful. Greetings from Hull The home of William Wilberforce. To sing gods praise. Amen.

Does anyone have any photos of Harrison Lafayette Parsons or any Crabtree family that worked at Merrimack?
My Great Grand Father Clinton Peters was a part of this division as well. I would love to hear any information about the division or him as well.
Be civil be visible be predictable!
My Grandfather, Frank Hood was a part of the 71st infantry division who was there for that liberation. If anyone has more information on him or the 71st, I would greatly appreciate it!
I know a little bit about the division. General Eisenhower's son was a part of this division. It advanced the furthest of any U.S. Division during the war. The 71st was a part of the campaign in the Rhineland as well. The division participated in the battle of the bulge. From what I've heard the division made it as far as the Rhine river. I could be wrong about this however because it was from word of mouth. This division was activated at Camp Carson, Colorado. Although, they also did some training at Camp Wheeler in Georgia. The division was known as the red circle division by many. I did some research over the division before and relayed it to family in an email as well. Here is what it entailed: The 71st infantry division also known as the red circle was a unit of the U.S. army that saw action during WWII. The division was activated in 1943 and was deployed into the European theater of operations in late 1944 to early 1945. Here are some of the notable acheivements of the 71st during WWII- The 71st infantry division was part of the Allied forces that helped liberate the French city of Strasbourg in late 1944. The division played a key role in the Battle of the bulge, a major German offensive that took place in December of 44. The divison also helped defend the town of Bastogne which was a critical transportation hub for the allies. The division participated in the Rhineland campagin which was a series of allied operations that aimed to push the Germans out of western Germany in the spring of 45. The divison crossed the Rhine river and helped to capture the city of Mannheim which was a major German industrial center. The 71st Infantry division was also involved with the capture of Ludwigshafen, a major city on the Rhine River that was home to several large chemical factories. The division earned a reputation for being a highly effective fighting force that was able to adapt quickly to changing battlefield conditions. The division suffered heavy casualties during its campaigns in Europe, but its contributions were critical to teh Allied victory in World War II. - Hope this gives some insight into its history. I apologize for any errors in this information. I am not a professional reseracher or historian. A lot of this research was done using AI and some internet sources. -Thank you to the men who served during this horrible war. Thank you to my Grandad as well. I miss him every day, he was and still is a great role model.
Thank you for the reminder

I grew up just outside of Huntsville AL in a town called Toney. My Dad was the fire chief of Toney volunteer fire department and dad would let us kids go on certain runs with him. Lots of hard work for those guys.
How often is this test applied after being hired? What is tbe standard you have to maintain?
I believe it's a yearly test and a pay raise everytime you complete it
@@shawne02 yeah it's a 5% pay increase to your curent pay every time you complete it; you have the option to take the test every 6 months. I don't think it's mandatory.
You're telling me the courthouse actually used to look nice!? Why would they tear it down and build such an ugly building in it's spot?
Superbb sir
So grateful we got the "One Last Cry"/"The Way Love Goes"-style Brian Mcknight of the 90s & not the generic pop version that's on display here. I mean, it's not the worst thing I've ever heard; it's just not representative of the sound we've now come to expect from him Vocally, he would've killed it, no doubt, but knowing the 80s knack for over-the-top, cookie cutter acts, I'm glad he came along at the tail end of that. The mellow, stripped-down approach showcased so much of his range Brian is among a handful of artists who vocally & stylistically helped usher in a decade
I'm a native of the Rocket City. I live in Santa Rosa Beach now and I appreciate the effort Hsv makes to keep citizens informed...I love this city. I would love to see more 'archive' video though.
