I’m really wanting to get into big wave jetski rescue for a a good few years. No one ever gets back to me. I’m based in ireland. My question about the ‘key’ is I’ve always connected it to my jacket. So if someone I was potentially rescuing did grab my left arm or wrist it wouldn’t be a problem. I’ve zero experience so obviously I’m missing something. Would love to hear from one of you experienced guys on this.

Not sure i will ever be able to take an adventure quite like that but sure had fun living it through y'all.

What brand of traction mat did you use for those pads on the gunwale sides?

Better him than me. That didn't look or sound good at all. And...as we all know these GoPro cams as great as they are do not do justice to the size of the wave when mounted on the board.

I'm convinced a sled is the way to go vs a huge ganky cooler taking up all that space on the rear deck for many activities.

What year is that Yamaha? My 2018 three-up seat is not flat like yours...really pronounced saddles that make it difficult to move around on and I hate it. Using it for offshore fishing.

Stoked you got to see fiordland brother! The apline lakes in that area are indescribable. If you ever go back and wanna spear, then let me know and I will put you in contact with the right lads. The north island at the very tip gets some clear water and becomes very fishy around summer. I made the move from working down in Fiordland to Oahu a little while back and have to say it isn't too shabby here either. Great video.

I love your videos--surfing, diving, hunting--all with attention to environmentally ethical practices. I do worry about the carbon footprint of these far-flung adventures, though. Traveling on airplanes is just about the worst thing we can do for our carbon footprint. Is there any discussion going on in the surf community about the air travel issue? The newest news is that marine environment is deteriorating even faster than experts feared, with, e.g., massive reef bleaching, acidification and sea temp increase.
