Our jcb 310s has a blown oil pipe so the little jcb 520-40 is called up on to get rh cows fed.

Great to see a spring calving herd in Pembrokeshire, its the best system for that county,dont listen to the tarmac farmer guy's.
Did you ever get this one running? I haven't seen one of these in action for 25 years, it was genuinely a highlight of my youth!

In all honesty I'm not missing it yet.....but maybe when the time comes to change next time we may look at a pivot steer machine.👍

Crikey your vids are awesome, better than many on You Tube. You definitely should do more as you explain things well gave an interesting system but you also seem to enjoy it? No need for long videos 10 mins once a week maybe? JCB is gorgeous!
Fascinating watch. A very similar system to what we do here in New Zealand. Cows look similar too.
Yes very similar to the New Zealand system, I've used only New Zealand bulls for the last seven years.
We’re building a compost bedded barn for wintering cows and for feeding supplements over here. Winters are becoming so wet of late and feeding out in the paddocks is too wasteful with such a high cost to silage. Seems like we’re heading slightly back towards what we used to do in Britain, housing cows! Some sort of hybrid system is where it seems to be heading to avoid environmental impacts in the winter but not loose sight of grass and grass management being the key driver to lowering feed costs. Kiwi cross cows seem to be a good fit for this system and efficient producers for the milk powder market. Keep the videos coming, loving seeing how it’s done back home!

No not used Genus for about 20 years 🤣 only bought semen from LIC and CRV for the last 10 years. 👍

At peak we were milking 360 in 2022.👍
Im curious as to why you dont feed tmr?
We are a spring calving farm so the focus is on milk from grazed grass. I feel a mixer wagon would be wasted on feeding stale milking cows in the autumn. In the spring it would be useful to add a little more energy to the ration, but I think it's just as easy to feed a higher energy meal on the parlour. 😀👍
