    Nice 1 Gareth. Been watching both for a little bit now. That shear grabs a bit of a beast

    OMG.... that shear grab is making an unreal job of the face of that pit!!! It's like a plastered wall it's that smooth. You must be extremely happy with it. Probably harder on hydraulics?

      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety +2

      Very happy with it so far, just need to remember to keep it sharp now. Yes it is more of a test for the jcb.

      🤣 My old one fell to bit after going in the washing machine. Been using LIC genetics for five years now 👌

    Gerry6420 also mentioned farming at la forge, maybe it was him you were thinking of, that shear grab leaves a lovely pit face, very solid looking shear grab, I'd invest in one if the money was in beef farming 😂

    you should get dual tyre feed pushers to go on the shear grad to push in the silage i have on and they are great

    Do you get any issues with muck being dragged into the passageway on the jcb tyres when making multiple trips between clamp and shed? I’m looking at feeding in a similar fashion but like you I have a dirty (scraped) loafing area between clamp and shed to cross. Concerned that we will drag a lot of muck into passage and then contaminate the feed. Thoughts appreciated, thanks

    • @Cotlandfarmer
      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety

      I'd say we are bound to have a little muck carried in, but I wouldn't say we get much if any contamination as the silage is all pushed across with the grab in front of the the tyres. 👍

    • @keepitsimpled1681
      @keepitsimpled1681 Před 3 lety

      How often do you feed out and how long does it take in total?

    • @Cotlandfarmer
      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety

      We feed out daily, it would take between 20/25 minutes to feed 330 animals, might be a little longer if you are work off the edge of the clamp as you can be out each grab to fold the side sheet back.
      It's a easy way to feed up and you are only relying on one machine to get the job done. 👍

    You guys should invest in a feed wagon someday make the job a lot easier great video

    • @Cotlandfarmer
      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety

      We had feed wagons for 20 years and don't feel that we need one now just to feed out silage. 😃👍

  • @s.r.fdronephotography3654

    Nice video, that is one hell of a shear grab. I have recently started posting some drone videos on my channel and wondered if u woild maybe take a look at them and maybe give em some feedback. Thanks

    Gareth do you use a brush to clean cubicles just wondering

    • @Cotlandfarmer
      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety +2

      We use a flat blade scraper, pull the muck off and then pull back fresh sand. 👍

    • @rachelpaulruane8687
      @rachelpaulruane8687 Před 3 lety +1

      @@Cotlandfarmer wat is the sand is it beach builder sand etc.. can you milk off it..

    • @Cotlandfarmer
      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety +2

      Not builder sand as its un-washed and very soft. Yes you can milk off it, it's a great bedding as it's inert so bug have a hard time living on the beds. The down sides are that it settles out in the slurry store and the only was to remove it is to dig it out.

    • @Cotlandfarmer
      @Cotlandfarmer  Před 3 lety +2

      Good thanks John, the 310s has gone well but we have had a couple of fuel rail error codes pop up recently 🥴👍

      That’s good to hear Gareth👍 They look like a lovely sized bus for small sheds with plenty power. They seem to be the Rolls Royce of loaders but I guess every machine has their downfall😬😂
