  • Feeding bale silage using my JCB 310s and Tanco bale shear.

    Great video! The clamp on your JCB 310 to capture the plastic wrap is quite a work saver ans should save in the number of dismounts when feeding bales. Very smart design!

      Yeah always used a contractor for slurry, it is a job I'd like to do myself one day. No NVZ here yet but there is going to be some new legislation coming soon🤪 👍

    great driving. Was wondering what website English farmers use to buy and sell second hand tractors. Here in ireland we all use donedeal and nothing else. was wondering if there is something similar in England

    If you lift the boom and shake the bale shear then it should get rid of any silage in the net

    Great vid I see how it works great for you don't think it would work for us we still have string on bales. We're dose your old wrap go and how?I have to dumpy bag ours

      Hi Antony farming the old wrap goes to be recycled, I have a recycling firm drop a big hook loader skit here for us to fill.

    hows does the clamp work, is it when you close the shear it locks the plastic and when you open the shear fully it opens and let's the plastic out

    any problems with cows pulling in bale silage. I use all bale silage and use a mchale rs4 on jcb loader

      Hi Tim O'Mahony yes a few pull the silage in, and one likes to throw it over herself.

    Your comments said that you calve in the spring. What does that do to your milk production?

      Yeah we calve in a 12 week block from feb to end of April. I dry off the whole herd before Christmas and have six weeks with no milk sold off farm.

    Wil it work on a silage pit as a shear grab as well ?

      Not tried it, I don't think it would work but Tanco do now make a version that can cut silage blocks and split bales. 👍
