Daft how the government treat the farmers. Best of luck to you. Brilliant video 💪🏴
Nice👍
Cracking little update, very interesting.
Great video, good to see that calving is going so well. By now, you will be that much further ahead and the weather is good. Farm is looking really tidy.👍
Everything is complicated . Nice looking calves. Thank you for sharing.
🐄🐂😷👍
Yes new rules mean more head scratching 🥴 thanks Randolph 👍
thanks Gareth, happy birthday for tomorrow 👍
Cheers Stephen 👍
Interesting vid. Thanks
Great video.
Thanks Neville
good stuff. place looks spotlessly clean as always 👌 , I'm just wondering if expanding cow numbers will make you any better off if its going to mean adding so much extra building costs🤔, I understand your utilising all your land but you know yourself sometimes less is more, slurry bans are some pain in the ass😔, we have them in Ireland with years
Just have the fertiliser bought before the 15th 😜
Interesting video 👍🇮🇲
Thanks David 👍
You have been a busy lad then! Sounds a bit of a pain in the arse having a slurry ban come in😔 but if you can roof the open bits of yard that should make life easier
we started on the fourth, got 180 calved out of the 340 to calf 👍
cows have been out since the sixth here too, have now been out at night for about 10 days
Don't think they realise how much we have to work with the weather but it justifies their jobs doesn't it 😢😢
One year we had 42% heifers then the following year it was exactly the other way round and were swamped with heifers. Nature at its finest. Just like the Welsh assembly and their nvz rules no sense!! Good luck
We are claving so far we got about 11
All the new reg are a pain in the ass 🤬hope calving going OK more male's means more beef which in my opinion is great 😁😁
Can you get any grants to help with the cost??
There are grants available to cover yards, I did apply but wasn't lucky enough to get grant funding 😒👍
Yes calender farming is a bit of a joke.
That's very early for a ban Gareth and a very long continuous stretch, are you in an NVZ?
Not yet Robert, but the whole of Wales will be in a NVZ by 2024, which is daft as the problem is mainly in the south west of the country.
What A.I companies do you deal with? Use alot of LIC genetics across the pond here in Ireland
Yeah I use a lot of LIC genetics and some CRV genetics. 👍
Mate I’m on the other side of the world to ya and I’ve had the same problem of lower heifer:bull ratio for the last 3 years! I see you have a LIC cap on, do you use mostly there semen or a variation?
Yes I use mainly LIC genetics, also some CRV ambreed.
@@Cotlandfarmer do you use NZ bulls?
Yes nz bulls used here, suit my grazing system well.
Mostly kiwi cross bulls used now.
@@Cotlandfarmer fair enough 🤙
Where do you bulls go
All the dairy bulls and the few beef calves go to my local market.
@@Cotlandfarmer OK
where do you take your bull calf
All the bull calves go to our local market at Whitland. 👍
@@Cotlandfarmer we take your calf to witland
hope to see you
More expense!!👎🤬
