MORE ABOUT ME
I'm Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, everything is "figureoutable."
I became "Anne of All Trades" out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break and build the things I need.
8 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.
My goal is to learn and share traditional techniques and skills while showing my peers how to get from where they are to where they want to go, how to do the things they are passionate about, and what can be done TODAY to engage their own community and grow deep roots.
Whether it's carving spoons, making my own hand tools, restoring my antique truck or growing heirloom tomatoes, the farm and workshop definitely keep me busy and support - whether financially through Patreon, through shopping my affiliate links, through buying merchandise, plans or project videos, or even just liking, commenting, and sharing my content with others helps me GREATLY to keep producing quality content to share.

Anne thanks for the great tour! but is this a hobby farm or there is good revenue coming from it ?
The way our farm generates revenue is very different than most farms do, but it is very much a business. If it were just a "hobby farm," I'd advise any sane person to find a new hobby. In addition to raising almost all our own food, I work in cooperation with several other farmers to sell items privately and at farmer's markets. I raise and sell livestock, dairy, meat and hay, but we don't do anything on a large enough scale to generate measurable income beyond covering all the costs incurred by various farming endeavors: the purchase of livestock, the cost of feed, seeds, other farm incidentals, the occasional small infrastructure and/or implement purchase. Big infrastructure/improvement costs, the cost of purchasing our land, and the cost of my time would bankrupt a small farm business like this in a hurry if it weren't for the real purpose of the farm, which is as a mechanism for my education business: I write for several magazines and travel the country teaching workshops about small scale farming, homesteading and self-sufficiency/traditional skillsets. It would be possible to generate more income from the farming endeavors, but there is a law of diminishing returns there. I enjoy the scale I currently do things, and scaling further would make it a lot less enjoyable for me personally, because I don’t really have any intention of leaving my full time job- the balance is fun for me.
Anne thanks for your prompt response. This clarifies a lot

Very nice of you to say. 🙏 Thanks for watching, Tim! 🙌
Love love your animal's names. Keep the name Butter. It's perfect. Your videos are both informative and entertaining.
Perfect names for the Alpacas 😂 "George is somewhere over there" That was so fitting. (He's my favorite Beatle)
Mine too!! He wrote the weirdest, best songs :)
@@AnneofAllTrades While My Guitar Gently Weeps is one of the all time best! It doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
I love all the names of all the animals. 💜
Love ur energy towards ur animals ur blessed
Thank you! I love seeing your animals 🐕🐝🌲🌻
As a first time watcher, I enjoyed seeing your farm, and your animals are so cute!
This is like heaven to me tbh. I wish i could have a farm one day.
We had artisan growing up. Flow went to a giant bathtub, pump from the bathtub to the house with overflow to the pond. BEST water ever. AND we never were without water when we were without power. Many times we went with buckets and kettles to the water tank
I just found your channel after you did a collab with Goldshaw Farms. You talk to your animals the way I talk to mine and its so satisfying.
Great video production Anne and Adam, love the tour and all the animals. Wonderful to see you and them all so happy and healthy.
Best commentary every. Was fun to listen to and also watch!!!
Anne, what an amazing farm you have! Who would guess how much work it takes, you are amazing!
Jnull0 made a self starting fan for his rabbits using computer fans and a small solar panel on top of the rabbit pen. When the sun shines the fan turns on. Really looks good for keeping rabbits cool.
I love this video! Glad I found your channel.
I love the idea of having your own farm and growing your own food and having animals :)
I love your videos! I started watching you five years ago for the woodworking and now also for the homesteading!
Wow, thank you!
I like everything about your 800,100 animals, and above all, your sense of humour and Lucy.
If you freeze water bottles full of water and drop them in the animals water supplies it helps..they will have ice cold water
Great video and animal tour, you certainly have so much variety and smart critters. You and Adam have put together an excellent tutorial of caring for all the managerie, thank you for sharing this!
Love it! Thank you so much for posting this! It reminded of the time decades ago, that I got the crap beat out of me by three geese on my cousin's farm in update NY! Good times.
❤❤❤❤thank you for an awesome tour of your homestead.
Love all your animals 🎉🎉, have a blessed day
Great tour 😊
Great tour, Anne. Thank you very much.
Interesting tour. Thanks for posting, and thumbs up!
wow, what a nice life!
Wow, what a way to start your day! Thank you for sharing it!
You should try 45% vinegar to spray under electric fence wire so you don't have to weed eat all the time.
I tried vinegar- I just heard about acetic acid being a better option. I’m gonna try that next
Great way to start a day, Anne!
I love how the cow at the end is just creeping up on you its so cute❤😂
You can save you dogs hair for birds for their nests and you can spin it for making your own yarn!❤😊
Oh my goodness, I enjoyed this video so much. Especially those names Aretha Franklin and Kevin Bacon. You're a hoot! Thanks for the tour.
You’re very funny , I’m sick in bed but you had me laughing.
Hope you feel better!!
Thanks Anne. ~ city slicker Tammy 😊
Annie, This is Downtown Motown Checking In and you totally captured me with Aretha Franklin; I feel as though it's a sign to keep going with my Off-Grid Dreams; N/S; I luv it!!!!!

Thank you so much!!
Buttercup. Probably too late. Have to say, you are an inspiration. Seems like farming is a lost art in younger generations. You are a breath of fresh air ❤
I could never hop a nylon fence the way you do! I'm just too old with hip issues. Love your dogs!
Sounds like Jeffery had a couple of Great nights 😹😸😺 and thanks for the warning about Alpaca spit 🙀 ** note to self **: never get
within a country mile of an Alpaca !! 😸 / love the Dogs and Barn Kitty got missed in the introductions 😺
You have a great sense of humour . New subscriber.
you're doing all of your chores in open toe sandels???? that seems crazy. Love the video and thank you for bringing us along. Props to the videographer

Butters : Amy Fleming -Heartland
Lol, alpacapoo haircuts! ❤
for feeding the pigs i saw that they spilt it so you can grab the pan and get out of the pig pin then pour the food in the pan then put it in the pig pin so you dont have alot of trouble
Huh?
Great video!!!
Awesomeness 😎👍👏👏👏👏
Oh my, it is nice that you can remember each one's name. I sometimes forget my kids' names and called all at once.
Btw... you have very nice arms. 💪
That’s hella animals. I raised rabbits at my mom’s house and chickens and roosters at my grandparents house growing up. My uncle raises chickens in his backyard.
Cobb Hill Farms has a goose named Cheese as a guardian for their layers. Roosters also defend the flocks.
Thanks!
Every day? You and "all" farmers are amazingly busy folks.
Love seeing your farm! Hope to see it in person sometime. :)
We’d love to have y’all!
Your farm is excellent.
I was reading an article from somewhere and it was saying that if you plant herbs around the ducks, geese and chickens homes, it will cut down on the amount of flies near them.
that is true!
I didn't know you yet, CZcams played your video after another was done. You had my attention right away and I subscribed. 😀💜
So glad you’re here!
"Lama Pops!" lol 😂
All Lovely but 2goose my favourite 💙❤️

Anne, I hope you, Adam, and everyone are doing well. Shalom.
У нас целый день не было электричества, и оно включилось ровно в тот момент, когда Анна включила свет в сарае. Удивительно😊

Daisy ❤
I am impressed
What a fantastic life you have my dear by living between these incredible animals and this beautiful nature, it's so inspiring for me to do a similar job where I live here in Brazil 😊
HOW DO U DO IT
Found you through gold Shaw farms and happy I did.
Hey Anne! It was so nice meeting you tonight at the VIP dinner. I’m sorry I was so emotional. I really like “Butter!” I kinda like Better Cheddar too though - it’s a little long though? Jeffrey’s a STUD! 😂 Let me know when it’s time to have kids! I’ll come help (and maybe relieve you of a couple if you’d like to sell some). We have 3 Nigerian dwarves now. We are still new to it - never kidded or milked…a goat. The clip idea is a pretty cool trick! I want jersey for dairy and dexter for meat too! I’ll have to work on the hubby for the dexter though. He’s excited about angus. The disease testing video was very informational and perfectly timed for me since I’m looking now for my dairy cow. I’ve done one farm visit but struggling to find a2/a2 no grain dairy lines.
Hey! It was so great chatting last year. Looking forward to this year! Shoot me an email marketing@anneofalltrades.com and we can get you on the list for some babies! When cow time comes, look into getting a Jersey/Dexter (Belfair) girl if you can, a2a2 is more likely in that cross, the teats are generally better for hand milking, and it’s way easier to keep dairy cows fat on grass without grain because dexters are much easier keepers than jerseys. Bonus, Jersey/Dexter beef is the best beef I’ve ever had, and you can do AI obviously, but if you ever have to get a bull, Dexter bulls are super gentle, but I’d NEVER recommend getting a Jersey bull. They’re a nightmare on small farms.
Fantastic
Just a small tip. The alpacas are less likely to choke if you place their food at ankle height. Gives them a chance to swallow before lifting their heads. That and soaking the pellets helps a lot!
Your animals are so cool, and you have a lot of animals!
I think Elvira would be a good name for your new cow.
Wow! You are awesome, just came across your channel. New subber here. Love what your doing.❤
Jeffrey got that dawg in him.
