Hello Becky, love your makes. Am always amazed at how many items you make. I’m only 5ft and it takes me ages doing toiles to get the fit right. Do you have to do any alterations to the patterns to get a good fit?

Love it! Something old, something new, something borrowed and something I need to sew! 😂 Definitely going to give this a go! Borrowed could be an alteration, adjustment as I don't get to swap fabric!

So jealous of all the fabric shops with a such a large variety of fabrics. Especially the prices!! We don’t have nearly enough fabric shops here in South Africa and the variety is not as good as yours. I have never seen the types of fabric patterns you show. Wish I could do some shopping there❤

I am loving your idea. There was a saying for brides to wear, that went like this. "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." Similar to what you are thinking. Maybe we can change it slightly for sewing plans. "Fabric old, fabric new, fabric swapped, fabric due".

It's not the weekend until I've watched WhatBecSews Friday Sews! I'll be sewing up some Nani Iro Basic Blouses from the Nani Iro Sewing Studio book. These will be plains (hot fushia, dark brown, and robin's egg blue). Then I have some really fun prints to sew up!

Hi Becky. Love your vlog as usual. Love the Holland Park dress. That last fabric you’ve been scared to cut is stunning! I made thewest cliff dress after you mentioned it last week. I love how it turned out. I decided against doing the bottom tier, but really glad you said about doing the smaller cup . I am about the same size as you with my bust and it fitted really well. ❤

Love the makes. The fabric looks great too. I am still in winter looking at patterns I can sew up for spring and summer including a swimwear pattern ( Megan Neilsen), a vintage co-ord set in rust rayon, and maybe a cotton floral long pant Vogue jumpsuit pattern.

OMG. Not watched yet but have to see what you thought of Holland Park. I’ve nearly finished mine but not enjoyed making it at all. Really fiddly channelling, my fabric frayed and broke in the waist channel when. I put the elastic in. When I tried it on, husband said it was like a milkmaid; I said, yeh that’s what it’s supposed to be like but he definitely implied it was frumpy! I actually liked the look of it but I really didn’t enjoy the process, it was so long winded and time consuming and fiddly and I wasn’t impressed with the clarity of some of the instructions. The channels looked evenly spaced in the pattern but mine didn’t turn out even …(they look ok though(. I’m wondering if I can make the channelling process easier by sewing one channel piece for the top two and just sewing lines to make the channels?

When you showed that lovely grey fabric and mentioned work trousers, my first thought was the Taylor trousers from Blackbird Fabrics patterns. Full disclosure: have never used one of their patterns or even made trousers, but I saw them recently, and I thought they looked fantastic, especially on the fuller figured model. They seem to have inked themselves onto my when-I'm-brave-enough-to-try-trousers list. Thought I'd mention them. They twill with that dress patten would look absolutely beautiful on you. Hope you get some relief with your health concerns. I know how challenging that can be, especially when it interferes with the things you love.
