What's more tasteful than classic statuary of naked goddesses? We have a nude woman statue I picked up in an art gallery for my partner. She's unique, we call her Venus de Costa Rica because that's where the gallery was. She was much pricier than your version. But ours has a fun story attached because bringing her back to the states in my carry on, I got pulled aside by Atlanta homeland security and nearly missed my flight home because they thought she might be a bomb. Fun times.

Open concept floor plans seem so cold and sparse to me. I think about all that open space that needs heating and cooling and my environmentalist’s heart cries. A traditional home with rooms appeals to as it feels more cozy, comfortable, and warm. Additionally, the design doesn’t need to be continued throughout the ENTIRE house as in an open concept house. Nope. You’ll never convince me there are enough pros of open concept to outweigh the cons.

Just adding: most of the things people hate are seen on certain tv renovation programs ad nauseum.

I don't like shower curtains as they get mouldy. I prefer a glass door. Easy to clean and keeps the space looking less cluttered.

What do you think of the shoe wrap machine? You just step in with a shoe 👟 and it wraps the bottom in plastic. I do like the pods that can be used to wash the washer and one for the dishwasher and one for the garbage disposal. Plus they make gels for mold in the rubber part of the washing machine. And there are tablets to clean water bottles using hot water.

I made the mistake and did not hang my curtains taller. However, I have 10 foot ceilings, so maybe it’s not as big of issue.

My lived experience of the GREY FLOORS! In my 20s, I saw it as cold and dreary, like you said. I differ in the view of blue hues in nature. Absolutely doesn't make me sad. It's a splash of colour to celebrate 🎉 !! The variety of places the soothing slate blue shows up in nature is astounding- the Merle in a dogs coat or eyes, the divine blue points of the Burmese and other cats 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 😺 🐱 and ratties 🐀 🐁 🐭... in the wood of trees- is soothing and fills me with appreciation for the array of colours nature provides. For some years now of my 30s, grey has spoken to solidity, reliability, sturdiness, security AND!!"snuggly warmth with the softest throw blankets, reminding me of being held and provided for, by Baloo the lovable bear 🐻 🐻‍❄ ♥️ in Jungle Book Grey also communicates sophistication to me, in office/places of productivity, which give WHITE and (I choose) one single other contrast colour (think deep jungle green/lemon yellow/merlot red/pastel or even bright! pink/any blue, but I adore navy blue) the opportunity to absolutely own the stage and show off 🎉
